A trip down memory lane which didn't disappoint. Wonderful hosts who made a great effort to ensure our stay was as good as could be. Comfortable, warm and quiet room with an excellent shower and comfy bed. A great breakfast, ate the second night in the White Horse and was pleasantly surprised by the choice and quality of our meals, with a great selection of beers and ciders to complement our meal. Local bus into Holmfirth stopped right outside the Inn and dropped off after a day of pilgrimage to the resting place of Last of the Summer Wine's great actors and an enjoyable day exploring the town, it's famous cafe's and exhibits relating to the famous show. Great car parking, some lovely walks and a waterfall to boot!

Only issue was the TV reception but we weren't too worried as I take our Fire TV stick with us so used that to fall sound asleep to.

Nice little traditional and quirky pub a couple of miles outside of Holmfirth. Our room was very small and basic but it was warm and cosy with a comfy bed and perfectly fine for our overnight stay. Parking opposite was a nice bonus as you don't get that if staying in the centre of Holmfirth and have to park in one of the public car parks. A regular bus stops right outside and taxis are easy to get. We would definitely stay here again next time we're in the area (hopefully in the summer next time).

Room was tiny but that was fine for us. Tiny criticism - the lead from the kettle doesn't reach the plug socket so you have to put it on the floor to boil it

The White Horse Inn is a wonderful, traditional Yorkshire Inn. It is cosy, with a lovely log burner, and prettily lit with faerie lights. It has a lot of The Last of the Summer Wine memorabilia around the place. The room itself is typical traditional pub style, clean, warm, opened the window which overlooked the road to the gushing river. There is a fabulous waterfall at the back of the pub, next to the garden area. There is a compact shower room ensuite. The breakfast was filling, and of traditional English style. All good value for money - loved the ambience and should love to return.

Unfortunately, there was scaffolding clad all up the front of the pub, which spoilt its look, on our visit. Hopefully, the work will have been completed on a return visit.

Loved the atmosphere of the pub, traditional decor and characterful. Memorabilia of Last of the Summer Wine, BBC series. Friendly and polite pub lord and staff, and other customers too. Excellent food. Comfortable, warm, and clean bedroom and bathroom. In our bedroom, did not get noise from the pub or other bedrooms. Electric shower, no problem with it. Good value for money, breakfast included. Parking. Lovely countryside.

The room was lovely, nice and clean. Plenty of tea/coffee etc. We stayed on a Friday night and we’re going to parkrun the next day. The owner kindly let us check out at 10.30 so we could return after parkrun for a shower. We ate there on the Friday and the food was amazing, especially the chips ❤️. On the Saturday morning they also made us some breakfast sandwiches to take to parkrun which was great. Lovely location.

The fan in the bathroom is extremely noisy, but nothing major.

Lovely location, breakfast disappointing the first morning bacon was too crisp I think cooked earlier then warmed up, apart from this the evening meals we had were superb I've never had such lovely chunky chips, loved all the Last of the Summer Wine memorabilia in the White Horse

Everything was fine

Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great pub with excellent food. Both Darren and Vicky, the chefs and the wait staff were fabulous. Great knowledge of the local area and history - including the pub being THE pub from Last of the Summer Wine. I'd also recommend a visit to the Oil Can Cafe, suggested by Darren. You can walk there in about 45mins (1.5ish miles) with a good few hills or drive in about 5mins. Amazing views, nice little retro car display and great food.

In a word, June. She was rude to us as soon as she came in, we are used to Yorkshire straightforwardness, we've been coming this way for years, she was just rude.

i was able to store my bike in the rear dining area, Steak meal was perfect although too many chips for me, beer was ok but then i rarely drink booze although i made an exception this trip

width of the shower entrance ... way to narrow and step up and over into the shower was a bit too high for the older person as in me... the wall behind the bed looked as if it was just wood planks slipped in place with a gap on the right hand side which appeared to be battened in place and not enough battens al the way from floor to ceiling tired and in need of a refurb
