Excellent comfortable hotel in a lovely location. Nice bar with a good choice of local ales and the food was very good. Plenty of parking.

Staff were great! Very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive but not obtrusive. Bed was comfy and view was lovely from the room. It's on a busy road but away from.the centre of Holmfirth and when the windows are closed you can't hear anything. We shared a cajun chicken burger with fries before we went out in the evening and that was plenty for us!

Breakfast was okay although the bacon had definitely been precooked and kept warm, so it was dry ... and the yolk of the fried egg was hard. Given that we were the only ones sat having breakfast, I would have expected it to be cooked from fresh. However it wouldn't stop me from booking again, but hopefully that will be passed down to the kitchen. Overall a pleasant stay, lovely spot and only 5 mins in a taxi to the centre of Holmfirth. (Taxi's only take cash by-the-way)!

My first choice for staying in Holmfirth was sold out , but luckily I have now found this hotel and will always stay there for future visits. It is far easier to park here than in Holmfirth itself.

I was shown the access door to be used late at night and the staff checked that the key worked. Before I left to walk into town I actually checked the lock myself and it was very unusual and complicated to operate. I got to bed at about midnight and also two other guests came in behind me. At about 1am other guests were banging at this fire door as they could not operate the lock and key. Make sure that you test this lock and key before you leave to ensure that you are familiar with it ! Not at 1am after a few beers !

Room was excellent bed really comfy , Staff really friendly , good selection of beers , breakfast Saturday really good , had a meal on the Saturday superb, 20-25 min walk into Holmfirth down hill recommend a taxi back up 😄😄 Would 100% stay again

Sad to say looked like staffing and kitchen problems on the Sunday for Breakfast had to wait 1hr 15 mins then egg and beans came cold felt sorry fior the young girl on her own, took the gloss of the stay a little , But have to say it wouldn't put us off staying again as hopefull it was a one off and everything else for brilliant

Stunning drive through the West Yorkshire dales. Amply spaced car park. Warmly greeted and suitcases taken. Escorted to our room. The attention to detail and professionalism to how the room was prepared and arranged was second to none. A beautifully, beamed room with a freshly dressed double bed. Assorted teas, biscuits, SMART TV, free WiFi, fresh towels and hand soap cakes added to our comfort. A modern classic fitted W/C, shower en-suite complimented the room. Brunch and evening meals are available. Breakfast is freshly prepared with your choice from their cooked menu. A lighter start is available from a good variety of cereals. Included juices, pot of tea or filtered coffee Last, but not least! the owners and staff. They were absolutely amazing. The whole place appears to run effortlessly. Everyone was friendly, they explained and answered any queries promptly and efficiently. Dog friendly pub and cash/cards accepted. Early online booking advised so as not to miss out.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we were at the back of the establishment over the top of the kitchen. The extractor fan was a little noisy and when we opened the window we had kitchen fumes coming into the room. We notified the owner who without any hassle moved us to another room. Food at the Boshaw Trout was faultless even though at times the pub was very busy we had no problems waiting for food.

A very friendly welcome, unexpected upgrade due to a cancellation, as we were starting to unpack in our first room (they could easily not have bothered to tell us). Lovely rooms, very well kept beer and fabulous food. The gentleman we spoke to most was really interesting and genuine. They clearly care about their customers and that they're happy. A super relaxed atmosphere, great play list and amazing views. We simply had a lovely evening.

Every single member of staff was attentive, kind polite and friendly. The pub area and the room was absolutely immaculately clean. Beautiful location and only £6 for a taxi back into the centre

There were dogs barking really load while we were eating, and the dog from the table next to us was trying to jump at our table and sniffing our food, it made dining less enjoyable and it was unhygienic. I appreciate it's a county pub but a designated dog area would make it more enjoyable for non dog owners or those that want a quite meal.

Staff were exceptional, especially the staff on duty when we arrived. Fabulous food. Very comfortable clean room excellent value. Will definitely come again.

Sadly we were kept awake from 2am until 5am by an inconsiderate couple in the room next door who decided to party loudly when they came in despite being asked to be quiet. Not management's fault, but no staff on duty overnight to deal with such an eventuality. I did complain and believe my complaints were taken seriously.

Nice contemporary interior decoration in the rooms, excellent breakfast with good breakfast menu choices, very helpful and friendly staff, great food in the restaurant, good location for Holmfirth and the surrounding area.

One room was fantastic, cool at night in summer, spacious, with lovely views. The second room was very small and situated directly over the kitchen. It was a hot summer night so we had to keep the window open. Unfortunately kitchen activity was clearly audible from above, and there was a loud kitchen vent going on into the early hours of the night that kept me awake. I would avoid the room over the kitchen!
