Lovely building, welcoming pub/hotel. Beds were very comfy, bathroom lovely and clean, facilities in room great, iron, ironing board, tea/coffee etc all good. Location in beautiful countryside surroundings and not far for trips into Holmfirth town or over the hills into the wrong side of the hills...yes.. WE ARE YORKSHIRE BORN AND BRED

Few areas need attention and looking tired/worn. Doors to open into room were tricky, probably could do with updating. Food was nice, although when asked for eggs a certain way i.e overeasy, that wasn't done. Bacon could have done with cooking a bit longer. Could do with being able to open a window for fresh air in room, but all windows had no opening capability except velux, which was out of reach.

The Inn and area is stunning, so peaceful and well laid out. First member of staff we met was a bit cold towards us but everyone else was super friendly and made us feel welcome, they was really helpful too and bent over backwards to meet out needs. The room was spotless, comfortable, and has a fantastic view, plus soooo quite, so we got a good sleep. Breakfast buffet was unreal, absolutely everything there you could think of from fresh fruit to pastries, cereals juices yoghurt, mm lovely. Hot breakfast came out really quickly, was nice, but I had asked for things well done, which weren't, my fault and I would make it more clearer next time how I like my breakfast cooked.

Wasn't sure how to get the bathroom radiator on so the towels stayed wet, luckily wasn't cold overnight as we couldn't work the heating for the room either (needs instructions for people not good with digital stuff) if it had of been cold overnight there was no extra blanket to throw on, this would of been handy for me as I do get chilly, there is a fan if it's too warm but nothing if it's too cold.

The staff were lovely very accommodating...the views are so beautiful surrounding the area. Breakfast was delicious plus the ravioli on the evening menu was scrumptious. All staff are so friendly and any questions you need answering was responded with good communication. Room was comfortable and had enough towels...tea .. coffee..hot chocolate and biscuits.

The room we had was the accessable room on the ground floor which was fab...the only issue we had was the floor did get quite wet as it was a wet room ...could have a floor squishy to clear the water for the next user....apart from that was a lovely clean and comfortable room.

Beautiful location, the hotel is of a high standard, the rooms are stunning and very well kitted out. I was thrilled to see that there was a cafetiere and a teapot in the room, alongside the usual sachets of tea / coffee / hot chocolate, etc. Biscuits in the room, a nice touch. Large rooms with well laid out en suite facilities. Complementary toiletries, again, a nice touch. Stunning views from the rooms. Staff fantastically welcoming and very engaging. We didn't try the food as we were attending a music gig on the evening of arrival, but from what we observed whilst passing through the restaurant, it looked amazing. We would most certainly return in the future.

I can honestly say that there wasn't anything that we didn't like about our stay.

Beautiful location, rural surroundings. We had a three course supper club meal in the restaurant, the food was good quality & tasty. Lovely little extra touches in the room like bottled water, a cafetiere, hot chocolate & excellent quality biscuits.

Some of the food we ordered were not as described on the menu, for example the duck was not crispy & there was squirty cream not chantilly cream on the dessert. Nonetheless the food was tasty.

The location is stunning, on the edge of the Saddleworth Moors. Easy access into Holmfirth. The beds were very comfortable, sooooo quiet with just sheep for company. The breakfast is exceptional. Freshly cooked, piping hot and amazing value at £12.95.

A small luggage stand and an armchair in the room would have been nice. In order to relax and read my book, I had to go into the bar/restaurant area. They are nice, but an armchair in the room would have made it even more cosy

Good food and good beer served by friendly efficient staff. Comfortable bed, Comfortable bed, clean modern bathroom with bath and very good showier. Plenty of parking space, great view of surrounding countryside, very little traffic on the road outside my window so no sleep-disturbance. Good coffee-making facilities, plenty of (in my case superfluous) cupbaord and drawer space.

The TV in my room was quite old and lacked HD capability. It also emitted an annoying whine, so I didn't bother with it in the end.

We have stayed at the Huntsman many, many times over the years and look forward to many more visits. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is excellent and the restaurant/bar offers a great selection of food and drink. But it is the welcome from the staff that always makes our break so special. Nothing is too much trouble and any requests are greeted with a smile. They are a great team. We look forward to returning in the new year

Fantastic location, with good views in all directions over the moors. The place is very well kept, has a good restaurant / bar and does an excellent breakfast. It's nice and quiet at night because it is pretty remote - there would even be good opportunities for stargazing except that the car park is brightly floodlit even after closing time. Proper coffee in the room and it was nice and warm despite being subzero outside.

The somewhat overspecified external lighting causes some light pollution into the rooms unless the curtains are fully drawn.

Location was great, just 2 miles outside of Holmfirth (we were looking for 4 rooms for a group of 8). Staff were very friendly, helpful and made sure our stay was as good as we hoped. Good range of beer at the bar, some excellent local brews as well as the more well known, national brands. Lots of free car parking. The whole place had a nice atmosphere. its a credit to the owners, managers and staff.
