Staying at this hotel, which also serves as a pub, was a really pleasant experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a very inviting place. I don't have much else to say because everything was just great. One thing that stood out was the friendliness of the staff. They were very kind and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. I chose this hotel because of its convenient location near the Farnborough exhibition, which made my stay even more enjoyable and practical.

The only downside was the noise up until 10 p.m. due to the pub being just below the rooms. It’s not very well soundproofed, so it can get a bit noisy in the evening.

I was going to miss the advertised check-in time so called ahead. That was no problem, I just made sure I was there with plenty of time before close. The lady behind the bar was super friendly and welcoming. The owner himself, although busy, found time for a quick chat with an inquisitive guest. Although I didn't eat there, the menu and the specials sounded great. The decor is that of a 'proper' pub, cosy and traditional. The stand-out of this place has to be the cask ales which are rotated very regularly. Myself, I took advantage of some lesser known lagers which were a great change from the standard offerings in most other places. The room was spotless and I had a great night's sleep. A good selection of drinks, soaps, shower gel and so on.

Leaving. I'll be back time and again.

A comfortable, interesting, quirky gem. Last time we came was in a lull between covid lockdowns (October 2020), so it was great to find the place had not only survived but was thriving. Our room was the same one we’d previously stayed in and was as welcoming and comfortable as we remembered with subtle improvements. The bar and dining room are stuffed with interesting antiques and everyday objects of times gone by and the walls are lined with fascinating signs, photographs, art and posters. You’d need days to peruse it all. Luckily the food was delicious enough to provide a temporary distraction. Good beer too! The staff were unobtrusively solicitous, friendly and efficient. I really couldn’t fault them. We will definitely be back.

Great shower and clean room, if a little old fashioned furniture wise, but perhaps that adds to the charm for some people. Pub is fab, good beer choice and the food looked amazing.

I wish I had reserved breakfast as it wasn't possible on the morning. They did ask me when I checked in so I can't complain.. I'd hoped to wing it in the morning but no chefs on as no-one else wanted it. So don't leave it to chance! Price wise it felt a bit on the high side. Breakfast would have been extra, 8 to 10 pounds as I recall.

We have stayed at the Jolly a few times this summer. The rooms are always spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and the bedlinen is crisp cotton which is lovely. We take our dog with us ( a small extra charge) and he is always really happy there. The establishment is very dog friendly, the food is good and we are always happy to return.

The road is noisy but it is what it is and as long as you know that when booking it isn’t a problem.

received a warm welcome from Steve who was clear in telling us about the place and was always present in case we needed anything. The pub was lovely with great drinks and service, beautiful interior. The room was nice and cosy, with a clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. Despite being above the pub you couldn't hear any noise from the room.

there was nothing notable that we didn't like about our stay.

Pretty much everything! From the wonderfully friendly and familiar check-in (felt like I was returning to a friend/families house!), to the lovely room (where almost everything had been thought of!), to the lovely wait staff service (in the pub) and delicious food!

I really have nothing to add here! I found everything exceeded my expectations.

We had booked as we were going to a wedding locally. The owner was really accommodating in allowing us early access to our rooms to change before normal checking-in time. The rooms were super clean and really well equipped with anything you may need including fresh milk in an accessible fridge for teas and coffee and complementary sherry! Good full English breakfast. Fascinating bar area stacked with history on every inch of wall and ceiling. Good car parking at the rear of the hotel.

Nothing! So much more interesting than a soulless Travelodge or Premier Inn!

The staff were exceptionally helpful. There was a potential problem with the ensuite and owners phoned the day before to let us know and ask if we wanted to cancel our booking. As it happened onsuite was repaired before we arrived. Check in was smooth and easy and even though we were staying in an apartment we were offered breakfast the next morning. The accommodation was the cleanest we have ever stayed in. Every guest had bath , hand towel plus face cloth. Toiletries were also provided. Location was perfect for us, convenince store down stairs. Copo store a few meters away plus a fish and chip shop. Would highly recommend for a family of five.

Nothing to dislike.

It has a wonderful old world charm, yet comfortable and a very hospitable host. Excellent small touches like cold mineral water available all evening and decanter of sherry in the room make you feel very welcome.

Nothing to dislike but do bear in mind no evening meals on Monday or Tuesday. However the host was able to recommend some very good local eateries.
