Close to station. Beautiful building. Management and staff were lovely. Food and drink were great and prices were reasonable, the rooms were modern and clean, facilities were working and we had no issues during our stay. Only thing is is your really tall you will hit your head on the low door ways , there should be a rolling counter to show the amount of times some one bonks their heads! The village is lovely to walk around and the river walk is a must do, really peaceful and spotting the wildlife was fun. On a Sunday nothing is open besides the pubs. Come week days it’s quite lively. 10/10 I didn’t want to leave Godalming ☺️

Nothing.

A little gem of a hotel, near to the railway station and town, yet with a 'tucked away' feeling. Decorated in a quirky but tasteful style, honouring some of Shakespeare's female characters, the rooms are clean, comfortable and provide a great base. The owners and staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast healthy and wholesome. This is a busy inn, popular at weekends in particular, so be prepared for the fact that there may be a little noise from downstairs on Fridays and Saturday evenings. This was not at all a problem, however, and I slept well. Don't miss the riverside walks around Godalming if you're here, and thanks to all at the Rose and Crown for making me so welcome.

Clean, comfortable, well-run hotel in a straggle of old (17th century?) timber-framed buildings with Shakespeare-themed rooms, friendly staff and a more than filling variation on the continental breakfast. The pub downstairs does very decent beer (local Crafty brewery Blind Side bitter was good) and agreeable pizza if you need to fill a hole. It's a couple of minutes down the hill from the station.

Nothing but remember it's a pub in an old building, so light sleepers may not like the noise you might get on a busy night. There's no TV in the room, which is a good thing as far as I am concerned but may not be to everyone's taste.

Lovely accommodation above the pub, tastefully decorated and full of character (but be careful of the low ceilings). We stayed in the Juliet Family Suite, very comfortable spacious main room with large ensuite. Separate children's room with low ceilings. Great heating. Breakfast was included and was delicious. 5 minutes walk from the station and very close to the centre of town. We didn't eat at the Rose & Crown as food options were limited, but there is a great pub directly opposite with more extensive menu and great food.

Check in was a bit mixed up, we'd arranged to arrive at 2:45pm and no one was there, fortunately there is a lovely covered seating area around the back and staff were there by 3pm.

The inn exceeded my expectations. The staff were most helpful. I loved the quaint character of the building. Breakfast was excellent. Cereal, croissant with a selection of jams, fresh fruit with yogurt and excellent coffee. They even had oat milk. I would definitely stay there again but with such good reviews it may be difficult to get a booking.

Godalming is renowned for its double yellow lines everywhere forcing vehicles to use their exhortatantly price car parks. Two good car parks opposite the inn.

Stunning pub full of character. The room [Beatrice] were quiet, the bed was comfy, the shower was excellent and the breakfast was incredible - a choice of various breakfasty goodies including a Bacon Bap, cereals, pastries, yoghurts, fruits etc etc - and obviously freshly brewed tea & coffee. Few mins from both the station (where taxis are based) and town centre. 24hr access.

Maybe provide a toilet brush? Window could only open a tiny crack but they provided a fan.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous - the building and the rooms all have so much character. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very efficient. We also really enjoyed the continental breakfast with fresh fruit and hot pastries. The room was very comfy with a great shower, and tea, coffee, and a kettle available in the room. The food served in the pub downstairs is also absolutely delicious.

The only complaint was the bed was quite small. It was however very comfortable so this is really very minor and did not detract from our stay.

Both check-in and check-out was easy and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. 24-hour access available through the garden when the pub was closed, which we didn't need with two small children but I'm sure would be useful for others! The family room we stayed in was perfect for us, with a double bed and bunk beds in the room. It was very spacious, and the shower in the bathroom was commented on by my daughter as being "amazing"! The continental breakfast was very nice and there were a good amount of choices. Good selection of cereals, the fruit and yoghurt was lovely and the pastry selection generous. A great base to explore around Godalming and Guildford.

Due to the bathroom being in the eaves, the mirror over the sink wasn't very easy to see into (and I'm not particularly tall), but this is a very minor issue which doesn't detract from a great stay.

I love the cosy kitsch style juxtaposed with a very quaint old building. For me it was a lovely blend of ancient and modern. The staff were exceptional. We arrived very late and they had all waited up for us. The wonderfully kind manager went above and beyond to make sure that we had a good stay, despite technical difficulties with room cards that were beyond their control. Wish we had been staying long enough to try the dinner menu, it looked amazing! The breakfast was really good quality continental style,

A beautifully appointed and cosy single room with lots of special little touches that made it a very comfortable stay. The short distance from the train station made it a great location and the simple breakfast was good. Staff were lovely too. The single room overlooks the road so there was a bit of road noise, but the wonderfully cosy room more than made up for it.

Some road noise but not too bad at all.
