A variety of breakfast items to choose from, a big layout, a well designed hotel, many facilities, and a health centre with a swimming pool, sauna, steam, jacuzzi, gym and studio, there was also a Specialists massage centre that offered all kind of massages. The family room was very spacious but could have done with a mini fridge. Other rooms did have this available

Bed sheets had stains on them when room serviced bed sheet not changed. Only able to book 1 hour slots for health centre activities, adult only swimming between 12 and 4pm. Breakfast staff clearing table whilst u fletching a drink or more breakfast, such a waste of food. Some of the health centre was closed on some days due to ongoing maintenance, no prior warning given. Extractor fan also not working, moth and other creatures in the bathroom.

We had an early morning flight from Gatwick Airport. We decided to travel up the day before we were due to fly but we hadn’t booked anywhere. A quick google search and this Hotel popped up. We booked and travelled from South Wales all within 4 and an half hours. We had a lovely welcome from the staff on reception. Our room was great, clean and comfy, just what we needed for the overnight stay. We had dinner at the hotel which was a lovely meal served by very professional staff. Breakfast the next morning was very good value with such a lot of choice. If we ever need to do an early morning flight again, we would not hesitate to book this hotel again. Thank you for starting our holiday off in such a relaxing way.

Nothing

The staff are extremely friendly, polite, and happy to go the extra mile to accommodate guests. Plenty of options at breakfast, good range of choices for dinner, and you can ask for a jug of water with ice for your room. Rooms are comfortable as well as spacious, so got a good night's sleep every night. Lastly, the pool is excellent, it's advisable to book, but isn't deep, so perfect for the kids! My boy very much enjoyed it.

Firstly, I found dinner a little in-consistent in terms of quality and time taken to arrive at the table, though on the Saturday evening they did have a few large tables. I ordered the same thing 2 nights in a row, but it wasn't as good the second time around. Secondly, they didn't tell me when I booked in that if you send the food and drink bills to your room, you can claim the membership points, if you pay with a card at the table, you can't.

The room very spacious and big. Comfortable for a family. Service excellent, all employees are super sweet and attentive. Generally the facilities of the hotel are fine, you have everything in the same place. Location is very convenient if you are in a car. As you can reach major airports, London and place of interests within an Hour easily. Near to Guildford, which is a nice city with good restaurants and city life. Also a train station with direct departures to Waterloo station in London. All in all, an excellent choice!

Was missing a hair drier in the room. No so sure if policy of hotel or they forgot to put it on that specific room. as I did not have time to go and ask to reception, so in doubt.

I stayed with my two children (age 10 and 7). They loved every single second of staying in this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, no one looked stressed, working hard. I liked the restaurant too, excellent service, and didn’t have to pay for my children’s dinner.. just unbelievably great service, food was delicious too. We had so much fun in this hotel and we were very sad to leave. Thank you

The only downside thing I would say is the noise from upstairs. We were lower ground floor, and I could hear people walking in the room upstairs. I suppose it must have been only one person staying just above us, so it wasn’t too bad anyway, but it would have been a very difficult stay if it was a young couple!

Room was decent size and clean. Quiet. Heating/air con a little loud but worked well. Good clean bathroom with bath and shower. Shower nice. Good supply of liquid soap, shampoo, and shower gel in wall dispensers. Breakfast had lots of hot and cold choices. I particularly liked the scrambled eggs! Tea/coffee choices from a machine with herbal teas available and hot water. Restaurant had plenty of space and seating options. Also ate dinner there. Many dinner options including kids menu. If you are staying at the hotel and you have a main course, kids eat free from the kids menu.

Although adequate parking spaces, since December 2022 you now have to pay for parking unless you are there for a conference. Therefore you need to add £5 per day. You pay at a touchscreen just outside the main entrance. This is not a fun experience when you check in in an evening with a small child in the rain! Not sure who thought this was a good idea.....

Second time at Holiday Inn Guildford. I was here in August 2021 with my family, and here again this year with my 3 boys. Our 2 week stay has been superb. The breakfast especially was rich and varied with well prepared options. The restaurant staff were just solid gold. Always smiling and pleasant. Clearly eager to help and in such friendly and welcoming ways. They were especially good with my kids. And I observed how unfailingly courteous they were to guests. The whole team - Gemma, Iwona, Ling, Anna and John - were such terrific hosts. I am so glad my kids and I got to know them over our 2 week stay. The recent face lift to the lobby and restaurant also gives the place real warmth and style. Edit. Just realised that my previous review (in August 2021) had suggested towels on the bathroom floor. Here we are in January 2023, floor towels are provided in the bathroom and changed every single day. Impressive.

I didn't like having to return in the evening with the kids to find the room windows open. Perhaps it would be alright for the summer but not sure the cleaners (who did a great job too, room and bathroom were cleaned really well) should have to do that during winter season. There was a bit of mould on the bathroom ceiling. But I was able to get it off myself eventually.

I loved that the dining room staff went out of their way to make sure we could all sit together. When l told reception that the shutters for the windows had come off the tracks the maintenance man arrived within an hour to fix it. He was really polite and professional.

The really slippery bath, l struggled to get out off it. Even using the rubber mat l slipped. I told the receptionist as l left and he was going to check if the cleaners were using different products on it. I felt confident he would!

Very friendly and attentive staff. Just a little disappointed that the room service selection as only offered frozen pizzas and as we arrived fairly late (4hrs+ from Bristol) we were very hungry so had to order an Uber Eats in the ned. All in it was brilliant and we will deffo be staying there again as we initially stayed there a few months back to meet a breeder in Goldaming and this time we picked up our new puppy. For anyone wishing to stay there, please don't let the slight disappointment of the room service selection put you off; it's a minor issue tbh. :)

location good, although the Guildford ring road was very busy as we missed the turning on the roundabout and had to go round again.

bedroom a little too warm even though I did turn down the room thermostat. The lady on reception when we first arrived could have been more helpful and could have giving us more information e.g, telling us where the pool and gym were, and about booking a swimming time etc The lady on reception at the Holiday Inn at Hemel Hempstead , was a very good, competent, professional front of house receptionist. The Guildford staff could have learnt a lot !!
