I stayed at The Withies Inn for one night whilst travelling for business. The inn is in a beautiful location and whilst, rural not difficult to find at all. From the moment I arrived the team were extremely courteous and hospitable. The inn is 16th century, full of traditional features so watch out for the oak beams above your head. The rooms are newly created additions (2019 I think) using the converted outhouses and old stables so are very modern in decor and furniture. Fantastic walk in rain shower, lovely comfy bed and a great hairdryer!. Added extras of tea, coffee, plenty of quality biscuits and a 750ml bottle of water included. I ate in the restaurant in the evening - very traditional style setting and menu offering with evening chefs specials too. I had the Mushroom Stroganoff which was delicious, accompanied by perfectly cooked fresh vegetables - albeit couldn't finish it because the portions are so large. I am not a huge breakfast person so opted for cereal and toast, but there is a good choice of hot items all cooked fresh to order. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay at The Withies Inn again if need to be in Guildford.

The staff were extremely welcoming and we felt at home straight away. We were given an upgrade due to us mentioning our anniversary and were delighted with the balcony where we could enjoy stunning views. All the rooms are very modern and have every facility you can think of. Very clean and spacious; shower to die for. Location excellent. Peaceful, beautiful surroundings. Pub old, but quaint and just gorgeous to have breakfast and dinner in. Food excellent and as a Coeliac they catered so well for gluten free with everything clearly marked on their menu. The owner was so friendly and did everything he could to make our stay perfect. We had more family join us the second day and they prepared the room super early so they could have a morning check in. What more is there to say? We couldn't have asked for a better stay and will definitely be returning.

We can only mention one thing as everything else perfect. They need to upgrade their toilet roll! We actually bought our own as a result!

evokes past memories of many years ago. we knew Brian from when he ran the Inn over 30 years ago. WELL DONE now his son Hugh has been the landlord for many years. He like his dad is a Charming & Gracious man. very Professional & Warm. The food is still Excellent & unbelievably Pepe the waiter is still there. he is 80 very soon & still a big Powerful man. the rooms are Superb. As is the Breakfast. we will be returning soon.

The bed was big, comfortable and clean. The room, although small in size but was very cozy. Breakfast was delicious, the parking lot was large, the staff were friendly, great location, nice place :)

We did not find YouTube in the TV and what was available worked poorly as if there was no signal. There was no air conditioner in the room but there was a fan, it was enough but it was a bit noisy, if it is on for a long time this is starting to get in the way. An open window gave more results at night.

The breakfast was excellent. The staff were personable, friendly and prompt with their service. As soon as our habits were known, our needs were anticipated. No one was intrusive, but it was easy to find someone to help or answer questions. It was my husband's 80th birthday celebration to stay at the Withies Inn and have his special dinner there with friends. Without exception, everyone commented glowingly on the setting, the food, the friendly smooth service. It is not modern, but it has character, enhanced by the kind attention of the staff. A small touch that delighted me: I was loaned lovely jugs to decorate the tables with thistles (my husband is Scottish) and the day after the dinner I peeped into the separate room we had used. It was cleared and clean, but each table still had the candles and thistles, not just thrown away as would have happened in many places.

We were so welcomed it is hard to criticise.

Clean, smart modern rooms (in separate lodges around the main pub). Facilities excellent. Staff very welcoming. Large, comfortable bed. Light and airy. Plenty of parking.

Lights from cars leaving the car park would swing through the room during the night - a curtain in front of the window in the door would help block. Food was fine but nothing special.

When we arrived, we were greeted and shown to our room. Much to our surprise, there was a fan, already on in our room, which was a relief, after being 2 of the most hottest days of the year. The room was compact, but perfect for our 1 nights stay. Everything you needed was there. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and everything so clean. In the morning, we ate a delicious omelette for breakfast. On checking out, we noticed that my husband had lost his wallet (from the night before). The man who was checking us out, was extremely helpful and it was found, securely behind the bar. Thank you to everyone there, for such a lovely comfortable stay, on what was the most hottest days of the year!

Nothing. Everything was spot on!

The period features of the pub with the low beams and long history. The beer garden was lovely and looked lovely at night. We also loved the room and the big shower. The breakfast was all local produce and was very tasty. The gentleman behind the bar told us about the history of the building and was very interesting.We stayed in 'Treetops' apartment round the back and had our own little seating area. We would definitely visit again! Highly recommended!

Quite small car park but everything else made up for that.

The Withies Inn is a beautiful old country pub with gorgeous well cared for gardens. The staff were friendly and professional . The owner was friendly and was able to offer accommodation to meet our family’s needs . Breakfast was delicious, fresh produce and plenty of variety. We had booked 4 rooms and all of them were very tastefully decorated with tea making facilities ( incl biscuits!) and bottled water . The bathroom was also very smart and the power shower was excellent as were the lovely toiletries provided.

Couldn’t fault the Withies Inn. We were all very impressed with the beautiful rooms and pub . The staff were also lovely.

Room was recently redecorated, very stylish. Clean and comfortable. We chose the largest room as we arrived with 3 bags and tho a bit tight for that amount of luggage, if only on a shorter trip and/or with less luggage the room would be amply spacious. We love the area, used to live near in Guldford so was great to return and visit the town and the Watt Gallery and Chapel (easily walkable through bluebell woods in April!). Food is still VERY good -- breakfast is fairly standard but good and generous and tho only a few options on the menu, they can do pretty much whatever you want if you ask. Dinner was excellent, especially the specials. Would definitely recommend and return!

Nothing comes to mind... tho our room lacked a private outdoor space with the inn right over there and a lovely garden, really not needed!
