We liked the reception manager. She went out on a limb to make sure we got a better lower floor room because one of the lifts was out of order you could be waiting up to 20 minutes for a lift. We were given free breakfast and offered a late check-out but to be honest I think people were helping them selves to free breakfast anyway because there wasn't anyone checking. Apparently they are understaffed but once again thank you to the lady who looked after us.

Obviously 1 of he lifts being out of order didn't help. I waited upto 20 minutes on one occasion then decided to walk up 9 floors to my room. This prompted the reception/hotel manager to give us a 1st floor room and free upgrade. The bar was always closed. Again short staffed and told that the Britannia group had no intention of finding new personnel by one of the current staff? A lot of the staff looked under pressure and miserable as a result. I'm not going to mention names but was very abruptly responded to by another female staff member for a minor complaint. The cracks both metaphorically and literally are beginning to show with this place which is such a shame. The Britannia group strikes again.

Situated in an ideal location in Glasgow City Centre, the hotel is very close to various shops, cinema, theatres along Sauchiehall and towards Buchanan Street. It also offered us a magnificent view of the city's burgeoning skyline, particularly the South side area. We initially booked for a night here. But my partner and I agree to extend for 1 more night as the room given to us (at the 12th floor) offered a very welcoming respite from the days of travelling. I also have to give kudos to Rebekah and Joss for their amazing hospitality, allowing us to keep the room for one more night. I have also booked our stay here in two weeks's time. And they have already given us the same room for that next stay. Mind you, we cannot wait to be back! We did not avail of breakfast and room cleaning services. However, the facilities inside were worthy of the price we paid for - coffee/tea plus hot water pot, VERY COMFORTABLE BED, plus a smaller bed as we booked a family room, adequate toilet paper, shower gel and functional tap for hot/cold water. I have to say that while staying in top-notch, highly rated, luxurious hotel seems to be preferred my many, We actually prefer staying in these kinds of hotels. Yes, they may not be the most modern in the city and potentially have gone past their old glory. But there is a certain charm about this hotel. I felt staying here has brought me to live the past glorious days. By keeping it cleaner, more sanitized and giving more attention to detail, I think the hotel will be able to keep more loyal customers who are looking for affordable, clean and comfortable hotel.

I wished WiFI should be given free of charge. One day of WiFi access is £7. I also think some extensive vacuum cleaning may need to be done to the carpet and furniture. While these are not necessarily important since we are mostly outside, it would be good to keep the room scented and fresh too to keep future guests wanting to stay more.

The view from floor 12 was amazing. Ok let's be real for the price you are not going to get the Ritz so please don't expect that .what do you get a comfortable bed a good shower and a room that keeps you secure. .yes it's a bit out dated and yes you might have to wait on the lifts they a bit slow but hey if you save a few penny's in the hotel more for treating someone or yourself to something nice Bd being only a few mins walk from the city centre. It's a win win

A few more signs road side to point out where you where . Make check out time on a Sunday a bit later

Couldn't have been happier, booked last minute as apartment we had booked let us down we stayed 1 night and became ill, walked in with smiles from the staff, very welcoming and patient, answered all questions and even opened bar so we could have drinks, rooms were fantastic bathrooms had baths and showers, room was spacious with desk and double bed, comfy night little stuffy at first but with open windows it cooled right down, amazing views from all rooms (we booked 3 for us all) definitely worth the price we paid,

Selection on tea and coffee was very limited everything would have been perfect if they had options of normal and decaf but apart from that everything else exceeded our expectation

I like the location. And the room was spacious with a window view that showcases the beauty of Glasgow city. Also, the Staff were friendly especially, Kate. She was always ready to help. I especially took note of the chocolate placed on our pillow on 14th of February by the room keeping Lady. It was lovely!

The room was too cold for me although there was an automated heater but I still caught cold. If only I could adjust the heater to the room temperature that suits me, it would have made our stay more enjoyable.. Also the lightings should have some white bulbs to aid reading.

the breakfast was very well made, tasty and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately I overslept on my second night and missed breakfast. but the following day, when I had the pleasure of indulging, it was great!:)

the view was great and the hotel facilities were amazing. the only thing that let it down was having to constantly go from my wonderful double bed room on the 10th floor then take a elevator back and forth to the reception whenever i needed something and I couldn't access room service from the phone. other that everything else included the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly, nice & helpful

Room a good size, bathroom also good size.

The corridor door needs some rubber/pads or something to stop banging when they close. Every time someone used it during the night, it woke me up as it was outside room door. 3rd lift needs fixed. Trying to check out and each lift was full, 4th time lucky for use of lift, for it to then go up the way. On way down it stopped again and people couldn't get in..too full. If 3rd lift was fixed then this would have helped.

It's in a nice part of Glasgow with good pubs and restaurants and a theatre very close by. The hotel used to be a Premier Inn so it still bears all the hallmarks of what you'd expect from a Premier Inn. I hope Britannia don't become complacent and let this fine hotel slip. Reasonably priced and friendly reception staff.

The double room was a bit small. They could do with a vending machine for drinks and snacks. If you wake up parched in the middle of the night you have to rely on tap water for a drink, you have the option of making tea or coffee though.

thé location was the best thing about this hotel, it was close to everything. the staff were very friendly, cooperative and we were helped with all of our requests.

the cleaning services were horrible, we had to request our room to be cleaned and it took them days to come, and when they did, the trash was taken out and the glasses were cleaned, other than that nothing else was cleaned in the room (like the bathroom) and if we needed something like towels we had to specifically ask for it. due to that, the room stunk a little bit and we had to buy our own soaps / tissues / garbage bags to get by thru our stay

As always my go-to place when staying in glasgow for work. 15 minute walk down sauchiehall Street to Queen Street station or the subway is directly outside, giving great transport links. Rooms and big, clean, and quiet. Exactly what I needed to relax after a hard day of work. Lots of shops and food places nearby for a late night snack. Staff are lovely and very helpful with any request, overall a great place to stay!
