Stayed for Valentine's Weekend, at a bargain price of £138, £200 cheaper than a nearby Travelodge! Hotel is easy to locate once you get your bearings: look out for the Beresford Building on Sauchiehall Street, cross the road and the hotel is a short walk down from there. Excellent staff at reception, especially Kate and Monika: lovely to chat to and gave me plentiful coffee, milk and sugar when needed.

Observations not criticisms: yes the hotel is dated, looks like same furniture from when it was the Premier Inn, but the room was clean and the furniture functional, and that is all that matters. Yes, the firealarm went off twice, BUT that was a positive. The staff took the alert seriously, called the fire brigade and evacuated the hotel until safe to go back in: safety first.

Location was exactly what we needed - right next to the train station which was great for the concert we were attending that evening. The car park was also next door which was very handy and gave us peace of mind the car was safe during our stay The staff were very helpful, friendly and approachable and knowledgeable. They made us feel comfortable and welcome and like nothing was too much trouble during our stay

The car park fee - hotel advised us it was £8.00 for 24hours. We went into the car park and advised by the ticket it was £15.50 even after the ticket was validated in the hotel. The staff at the car park then said it was £12.00 we said it was supposed to be £8.00 and he said the staff at the hotel had it wrong

The location was perfect for what we were looking for. It wasn't the absolute most luxurious hotel, but it exceeded our requirements and your staff were absolutely lovely. Really helpful and friendly. Your breakfast was ok, definitely edible, but could have done to have been a bit warmer. You were the cheapest hotel in the vicinity and was perfect location for the show we were going to see. Will definitely come back if I ever book for the King's Theatre again. Love Scotland, love Glasgow, and really enjoyed my stay with you. Thanks a million.

Breakfast was warm, rather than hot, didn't feel as fresh as it could have been - but definitely edible and you had friendly staff who were happy to help. The key card to our hotel room was temperamental but that could have been me - my 13 year old son managed to make it work!

Really pleasant staff - and great to have a real person on the reception desk at all times. The view from our room (on the 12th floor) was fantastic. If you want to avoid road noise, go high - we were asked on booking in whether we'd prefer a higher or lower room, which was a nice touch and meant we got the room that suited us.

Really nothing - the furnishings aren't brand new, but it's all clean, comfortable and functional. If doing a little less refurbishment helps to keep the price down for this great location, that's fine by me!

Front desk staff upon arrival, really lovely lady who unfortunately did not get the name of, we were give choice of floor which was fab. We chose the top floor, fantastic views over the city which were stunning at night. Room was spacious and clean, smelled great too. Overall there is a need for an update to decor and furniture, however for the cost and the welcoming atmosphere, it was worth it.

The double bed was two singles together with a very obvious and uncomfortable dip in the middle. There was only one bedside table, we ended up using a chair. There was a fan running permanently in the bathroom, it was rather loud but with the bathroom door closed wasn't too bad. It still disturbed our sleep unfortunately.

We were going to the Garage in Glasgow to see a band & wanted a hotel near. This hotel was perfect right next door to the kings theatre & around the corner from our venue. Lots of eating out places & bars close by. The room we were given was on the 10th floor with an amazing view over Glasgow. Reception staff were excellent & so helpful. Breakfast was not a problem the chef girl nothing as a problem making myself gluten free toast & fried eggs. Thank you so much for a lovely stay

Nothing to dislike

The hotel is well located to visit the city. It is possible to walk to all the main attractions. I stayed in a twin room. It was spacious. There was an open closet and a desk, two nightstands, TV, big windows. It wasn't cold despite the fact that it was raining and very cold outside. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were super helpful and kind.

The bath doesn't have a detachable shower head.

Probably the most unfairly reviewed hotel in Glasgow. This is a former premiere inn on the west side of Glasgow City centre 10 minutes from the high street. Excellent location for the price, immaculately clean and comfortable. Our room was a huge room for the price approx 2x - 3x the size of other budget hotels nearby I've stayed in. The hotels not recently refurbished since the 00s so the decor is dated but certainly not dingey, or dilapidated or run down as described by other reviews. The hotel is well maintained and kept well but the decor may disappoint people expecting modern design. The European Lady in the kitchen for the buffet breakfast was a credit to this hotel she was beyond helpful and welcoming to the hotel breakfast (this was an absolute steal for £12). Overall a great stay.

Downstairs across the hotel is a strip club. You get free access if you're staying in the hotel if that's your thing. Not necessarily something that bothers me but I realise it might bother others.

Excellent staff with superb customer care skills, very friendly, very professional, very helpful. We checked on on Friday 23 August 2024 so big thank you to the staff on duty that morning at the reception and on the 24th and 25th August 2024. Imagine this was our fist trip to Glasgow. They made us feel welcome. I will always book Britannia hotel and recommend it to friends and others. The great other plus is its centrality to everything in the city.

No one thing is i I like the staff theyre always helpful , polite and kind always chatty, always says hello and stuff , the rooms are always maintained, housekeepers should definitely be rewarded for their work, I work for a hotel chain also I know what it's like when your good work goes unnoticed, I have been in the hilton and the Marriott Hotels and I prefer the britannia.

Ive been in this hotel a few times me and my cousin use it for convenience whenever im not working due to its close proximity to the train station for travelling around so i never really have anything I do not like, however on this occasion the only thing that let my room down was the bathroom the , toilet bowl was far too close to the wall very uncomfortable, , but again ill still be back .
