This was centrally located , clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient and our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection and choice .

We booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool but unfortunately it was shut for repairs , beyond the control of anyone but still a disappointment. Also our room overlooked a sad scrubby courtyard and was very overlooked by others , for this reason there was very little natural light .

Breakfast was superb, staff were great, beds were extremely comfortable, shower/bathroom was extremely luxurious, all drinks/food in room were complementary (even though only a basic room), really good blackout blinds, good room service, bags brought up to room by concierge. Fantastic location and car parking taken care of by the concierge.

A light shade was broken, toilet intermittently malfunctioning, couldn't control A/C in room, wasn't immediately clear how room lighting was controlled (figured it out in the end) and curtain had been torn in several places.

The room was big and comfortable, with a gorgeous bed. Over it is a stylish hotel with a nice bar, in a very convenient and classy location.

Very minimal service and support from staff, not a 5* hotel standard. They stick to the basics. We were there during a city event with many roads closed to the traffic. We called the hotel - before arriving - asking for suggestions on how to reach them by car and they were not able to provide any concrete and helpful information. We had to park the car 2,5 km away and walk to the hotel (same at the check out). My expectation for a 5* hotel is to have the right concierge support and suggestions in case of disruptions in the city and this was not the case at all. Apart from this specific (and exceptional) case the hotel is great.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. The room was gorgeous, the food was phenomenal (make sure you do at least one dinner at the restaurant, and go for cocktails!), and the staff go above and beyond; David in the lobby was especially helpful. My husband and I can't wait to return!

Only tiny bit of constructive feedback is that the breakfast service could be a little more prompt; we waited 15 minutes one morning for someone to take our order and eventually had to gesture someone over. I think it was just a particularly busy morning for them.

The room was great, fabulously comfortable bed. I particularly like the bathroom wall which slid open to reveal the whole bedroom and the tv. I did have a bath and watched tv. The staff were very helpful and recommended their excellent florist for me to arrange a whole load of flowers for sister's 80th birthday party. They also were very amenable regarding my mess up of my booking and I needed to cancel one night at the last minute and even though it was past the date for free cancellation they have deducted this night from my next booking in July.

The beautiful first floor bar was out of action due to refurbishment I believe, and the breakfast room was being used as the main bar. This substitute bar is quite underwhelming and doesn't particularly encourage anyone to go there, whereas the previous 1st floor bar was a real destination bar for both residents and non residents alike.

Checked in very early and promised a text or call to say when room ready heard nothing. Asked for Tea or coffee with friends we were pointed upstairs and nobody came. Friends arrived and asked for help then staff came to take order. staff great. 5 star hotel unlike most I have been to poor follow up to nice reception. Cocktail bar extremely poor not much on offer and staff quiet and talking to each other all the time and all 3 occasions had to be asked to help.

The hotel is smart with a beautiful interior. It fronts onto a peaceful square with parking available right outside. The exterior of the hotel is well kept, polished to perfection. We were greeted late at night by a fully staffed friendly reception. Our room was well organised, very clean, with quality comfortable bedding and full sized toiletries in the bathroom. The mini fridge with drinks and snacks were a welcome touch and the tea/coffees were well stocked and replenished promptly. There was a social hour from 5pm in the lobby serving complimentary wine, which was a nice touch. The biggest asset to this hotel is the friendly and very knowledgable concierge who suggested places for us to eat and he was spot on with every recommendation.

In general the hotel was good, but lighting in the rooms was very poor. The rooms are quite dark, with dark furnishings. The bathroom, with dark chocolate brown marble everywhere also has poor lighting and nowhere good enough for make up at all. The dark wardrobes would be more user friendly with simple lights that come on when you open the doors, so you don’t have to use your phone light to look for your clothes! Whilst I appreciate that not all the rooms can look out onto the square, our view was of what looked like a dingy courtyard area - not a deal breaker but for around £250 a night, not great either.

Very loud music in dining area. Didn’t warn us that it would be very crowded so we couldn’t dine there without a reservation. So we had hard time finding a place for dinner. Concierge was very helpful though. After hearing the obnoxious music, we were actually glad we hadn’t dined there. Also, there aren’t enough hooks in bathroom for towels and clothes. Only one. Also, bathtub has nothing to grab onto when getting out of tub so it is slippery and dangerous.

Extras for a birthday were excellent. Dog friendly, beautiful food and cocktails. Husband's spa treatment was wonderful. The concierge staff were very helpful.

A major cycling event was taking place, which we were not aware of. No access to the hotel by road, and when we called for help, the receptionist could not offer any solutions. I asked to speak to the concierge, and they met us round the corner, took our luggage and parked the car (we asked for this service, £35). Spa access hours should be more extensive for hotel guests (adult).

Staff were fantastic, very kind, helpful and informative. They advised us of the best bars and restaurants around the area and let us know about the "social hour" in the lobby between 5pm-6pm which offered a free glass of wine to its guests. The rooms were incredible. Immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. We booked a standard room but we were very impressed with what we got. The room was very spacious and luxurious - possibly the nicest room I have ever stayed in.

Unfortunately the pool was closed during our visit but we were kindly booked into their "winter spa garden" which made up for it.
