The queen's arms were very welcoming and cosy, the room was spotless and clean and a very good size, it had good facilities especially the shower which was really hot and powerful, all the staff and locals were very friendly. The village itself is very picturesque with good local amenities only a short walk away. Good choice of breakfast as you had options for a fry up veg or meat ,fruit and yoghurt plus cereal with a gluten free option all with fresh juice coffee and tea.
The only thing I didn't like was the actual fried breakfast, the quality of the bacon and sausage wasn't that good plus my husband asked for a poached egg which was over poached . But I think this is down to them not having their normal chef? I opted for the fruit , yoghurt and toast for the 2nd day which was lovely Also the walls are thin upstairs we had a group of women next to us who were very loud but they eventually quietened down.

Lovely guest house above a traditional pub in Old Glossop. Location was excellent (lovely and quiet, a babbling brook outside) and the room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. Breakfast was good (full english and cereal options), and good selection of food and drinks in the pub. Location of the guest house is very well placed for exploring the dark peak region of the Peak District.
We managed to lock ourselves out of the guest house during the day because we weren't made aware on check-in of the out of hours access (we got some help from a lovely man called Dave though, so thanks Dave).

We arrived very late on a very wet evening. We are three gentleman cyclists. The staff made sure that we had drinks in the bar in the very comfy pub, but most important of all fixed it up with the Indian restaurant upstairs that we would have a lovely meal and a convivial nightcap downstairs. This is followed by a wonderful breakfast, setting us up for the day. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, particularly if you are a cyclist!
The rain! The rain led to a bikes been covered in mud, and I would like to further sale at the hotel were kind enough, not only to provide cycle storage, but also a hose with cold water to clean our bikes before being on our way. finally, the hotel point of us in the direction of a local cycle repair specialist to help fix a gashed tire which is leaking air. Not the best thing or best start the day before going over with her pass on the bike so much appreciated Support!

Really friendly and accommodating staff. Helped cater for a friend with vegan and gluten free dietary requirements. Rooms above a nice local pub with real ales and pub grub. Breakfast was fantastic and set us up for a full day of walking in the Peaks and Pennine, which we easily got on to just up the road. The pub is right next to a lovely local park and only a few minutes walk from the shops and cafés in the town. Will definitely stay again.
Only a couple of minor things, which wouldn't put me off staying there again. There are a couple of flights of steep stairs up to the rooms. The room we stayed in was above the kitchen for the Indian Restaurant, so got very warm. There was a fan in the room though to help cool us down. I found the bed a little bit hard and springy, but after a hard day's walking it was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep.

Excellent stay and would recommend this to anyone Breakfast was very basic but was cooked lovely room was spotless and very comfortable
We ate in the Indian Restaurant and it was close to closing time they kept making us aware of this and stood over us and this made us feel very uncomfortable as soon as I put my last mouthful in they took the plates and cleared the table then said again they were closing even the couple on the other table they asked if they could take their plates and they said they haven't finished eating They should not have taken out order at 9.15pm if they were going to rush us. just bear this in mind when visiting

Really nice pub situated in the quaint Old Glossop. Room was really clean with the option of twin beds or a very large double. A good choice for breakfast, either a cooked one or continental. There is a curry house situated upstairs, but the pub also offered meals.
Very steep staircase up to the rooms, which is tricky if you are elderly or disabled. There wasn't anywhere to hang clothes in the bathroom, and only 3 coat hangers in the wardrobe. It was a little noisy at night, but that is to be expected being a pub.

Loved the friendliness of the venue, as soon as we walked in we had a warm welcome. The room was lovley, we had the king suite which had a lounge and kitchen area, equip with tea/coffee etc. There was an Indian restaurant on the second floor and a live band on the night we stayed, we were worried the noise and smells would reach the room but they did not. It was extremely close to lots of trails for walking and right by Snakes Pass too which was a beautiful bonus.
The pub did not offer cooked food but there was an Indian restaurant on the second floor, and there were a couple other pubs a few minutes away which did offer great food.

Breakfast was excellent. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and friendly. There was a feeling of camaraderie emanating from the atmosphere, as the night in question was in the presence of a group of people who were singing light-balanced melodies, and harmonised beautifully, along with guitar and tom-toms against the backdrop of the calm-quiet-country air that surrounded us. The room was astounding, and included-an extremely comfortable bed, and linen that exhuded a lovely clean bouquet. The bathroom was unbelievably clean and spotless, and the temperature of the water in the shower was perfect, with no need to adjust it. We were asked also the night before "what time we would like breakfast?" And were greeting the following morning by Dave, who prepared us the most amazing and delicious breakfast, which left us filled and content.

Perfect location, so much choice from here to do walks, drives etc. The Inn is very cosy, staff were very friendly. The breakfast was delicious and we got everything we needed throughout our stay - 2 adults, toddler and a dog. Couldn't fault it, you get exactly what you pay for, straight forward.

Noise from music below ...beware if you want a quiet early night Navigating a very popular curry restaurant operating mid floor between the pub and rooms Smell of curry, therefore, permeates the stay. The accommodation price is too high Too many pubs are overcharging guests in this way. This is not a hotel ! Breakfast was nothing to shout about But a great waitress
