The Sycamore Inn is a great pub. Our evening meal was fantastic and well worth going out of the way for. Also, a good selection of beers, wines and drinks with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was a decent size and it was warm. The main double bed was very comfortable.

Room lighting was OK but the bulb in the vanity and tea making area was out so I had to use my phone light to see what I was doing. The second bed was also not as good as the main double. The ceiling has quite a few cobwebs. Something that was very visible when lying in bed. These are things that could be easily improved. Then there's the shower in the bath which was awkward to use due to low beams. I'm 6' 7" (2m) tall and I couldn't stand up as my shoulder reached the beam. I appreciate that nothing could really be done to improve this, but my wife is 5' 4" and she struggled too!

I booked The Sycamore Inn for my birthday. We had a lovely stay; the staff were exceptional, very friendly, great with our dog, and very accommodating. The staff had decorated our room for my birthday with "Happy Birthday" banners, which was a lovely touch. The doggy box in the room had some great bits for the dog. The dog shampoo smelled amazing, and we have now purchased some ourselves. We had an evening meal and breakfast, and the food was very tasty! I have coeliac disease, and they had a lot of options to choose from. We would 100% return, as we are always out walking in the Peak District.

Perfect stay in a lovely location! Our stay was lovely from start to finish and we wished we could have stayed longer. Lovely friendly and helpful staff, lovely clean and spacious food and delicious food in the restaurant. The owners were very hands-on and approachable and the staff are clearly happy here. Very warm welcome for our dog and she was delighted to find treats and a tennis ball in our room! Would definitely stay again if we were in the area. Thank you!

These guys have done a wonderful job of converting the rooms to a very high standard and created a beautiful place to stay, The place is friendly and the main building is welcoming. The food was exceptional so you have no need to leave at all, bar the walking and exploring the area which is amazing. The dog package was exceptional, with everything and more that your pooch could possibly want.

I didn't realise there was an extra charge for dogs - it was only at checkout that this was established. Not the owners fault, it appears they sent me a confirmation which I received in the booking.com app but there was an attachment that included the additional charge and this didn't come through in the app, only via email which I didn't bother reading as I simply use the app. This wasn't clear on the website but had now been rectified.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst we were having work done in our house, we are local so know the area well. Lovely room with big bathroom and very nice coffee bags tea bags along with delicious biscuits. Bed very comfy. Our 2 dogs made most welcome with their own goody box full of treats, balls, and shampoo and towels and bowls to use. Ate in the snug first night and inlaws joined us second night in the restaurant. Food was wonderful and so much choice. Staff extremely friendly and great service. Can't fault our stay. I walked dogs along the nearby set valley trail to the pretty village of Hayfield. The other way takes you to the Torrs Valley and New Mills which we visit regularly. Great outdoor space for dogs to have a play.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Sycamore. The staff were exceptional, they made us feel so welcome and they could not have been more helpful. The food was outstanding. Our dog was treated like a prince - he had a box of goodies in his room and got a sausage for breakfast every day. The bed was super comfortable. It was my husbands birthday and they made a real fuss of him and made it really special. Excellent location for walks. We will absolutely be back again.

We loved everything.

This was a real gem of a find. lovely place to stay, great staff - so happy and cheery, gorgeous fireplace, sitting area so relaxing. Food is amazing. Rooms are lovely. If we are in the area again will definitely be staying again.

Mattress was a bit hard for me, but my husband didn’t mind it so I guess it’s just personal choice. Cleaning in the shower could have been a bit more detailed, in the door seals but I am as my husband says a clean freak. Saying that the rooms are very clean, warm and have everything you need.

Food both evening meal and breakfast were some of the best food I’ve had for a very long in England and I’ve been all over the Uk. The staff were very good no complaints there, I know it’s their job but there was none of the falseness I sometimes encounter .Just lovely people.

Don’t want to sound picky but disappointed with real ales on offer.

The owners and staff were exceptional. we couldn’t have asked for warmer and more attentive hosts. They welcomed us, our 2 young children and puppy with gusto, nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. The room was perfect, a great size and very clean. The food was delicious, good portions, freshly cooked and very reasonably priced. The location is perfect for anyone wanting to be in the heart of the High Peak. We couldn’t rate The Sycamore any higher, thanks for a great stay.

A very attractive inn that is very dog friendly. This was our first holiday with 14 month old Labrador and he was made very welcome, as were we. Room 5 is on the ground floor with access to surrounding drive and garden. The room was clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. We ordered breakfast each morning and it was delicious. Excellent porridge, granola and Full English. good coffee too! We ate twice in the restaurant and received very attentive service from the young, professional staff. Loved the vegan/vegetarian menu choices. The food was delicious. The inn is well placed for hikes and there are lots of opportunities close by for dog walking, without lead, (if well behaved!). Darren and Sammy are lovely and communication was excellent. Jerry, the lab, loved his breakfast sausages! We hope to return.

We loved it all.
