We loved everything about this property. The location is tucked away and sheltered. The building is well looked after and maintained. The art work and decoration of the inn itself are relevant to the area and the building which makes reading and looking at them really interesting and pays homage to the history of it and the local area. The staff are super friendly, helpful, polite and you can’t ask for anything more. They really made our stay there so great. The rooms and living areas are modern and clean, the beds are comfy. The playgrounds are great for kids of all ages, the animals are delightful. Absolutely loved it and would visit again in the future!
There was absolutely nothing to dislike about the property.

We ended up at The Little Mill on a snowy midweek night in January, not quite knowing what to expect. We need not have worried, because this turned out to be the sort of country inn that you always hope to stumble across, but so seldom find. The Little Mill is warm, welcoming and unpretentious accommodation where you feel immediately at home. We were three adults travelling with a dog, so booked Room 1. This turned out to be a self contained flat with a bedroom sleeping three, a bathroom and a living room/dining room with a fully equipped kitchenette (including a hob, microwave and fridge). The bar is convivial and dog friendly, with a roaring fire and exceptionally friendly staff (including the owners and their dogs). Our dog - who loves nothing more than an evening in the pub - thought that she'd died and gone to heaven. We had already eaten before we arrived, but - based on our discussions about food sourcing and the excellent breakfast the next day - we will certainly eat here next time. There's a beer garden opposite the pub which apparently hosts a farmer's market every so often. There's lots of parking compared to the number of rooms, but I imagine that on a summer day when people are coming for the apparently excellent Sunday carvery, it could get busy.
Just wish we'd had longer ;)

The Inn is located in a quiet countryside location ideal for a relaxing stay. There are a number of walks starting from outside the Inn of varying difficulties from easy to long distance and also a Mountain bike route so it is ideal if you want to leave your car there and wander off in the countryside before, after or during your stay. The Inn is dog friendly too for those who like to take their 4 legged friend along. On arrival we were checked in at the bar and shown to our room throughout our stay we were made to feel most welcome and valued guests. The rooms are very comfortable, roomy, spotlessly clean and modern, comfy beds, all the facilities you require for a relaxing stay. We arrived too late to sample the food but the menu looked lovely and good value for money. Breakfast served in the bar area was lovely and they pride themselves on using locally sourced ingredients. We will definitely return to the Little Mill Inn and can't wait to sample the food. A stay at the inn is highly recommended.
Nothing.

My first time not living in a city center. If you are looking for a classic english countryside living this is the place for you. Beautiful hills and smaller farming villages nearby. The hotel even has its own eggs and very near hiking trails and an active watermill. Wonderful staff and one of the better places i have been to so far. A plus is that there is plenty space to park and the breakfast was great
The only thing is that the showers where this machine of sorts that regulates heat. It is very common in england so not any different anywhere else but it does make the water have a bit lower pressure. The other thing is that you do need a car to come here. There is limited to no public transport and the roads are a bit worn so do chose a sturdy car :) None of this is a issue with the hotel and would stay here again any time!

A lovely little place with a pub, lovely beer garden (would be amazing in summer!), hotel and some shepherds huts on site. Surrounded by nature, by the river and some animals like goats, ducks and geese. The shepherds hut was cute, with everything needed for one night stay. Lovely owners, accommodating staff at the pub, helping to create a bespoke vegan meal for us in the evening. Excellent vegan dessert - sticky toffee brownie with vanilla ice-cream, yum!
The hut is very compact, not much space for luggage and a tiny shower room, but to be expected.

We had a great two night stay, the food was amazing, the staff friendly and helpful. We loved the area and the animals add a nice touch to the stay, children will love this. The pub side has a lovely atmosphere, locals, walkers, bike riders, and dog walkers alike. Log Fire for extra cosiness. Dogs are welcome in the pub and didn't cause any issues whilst we ate there. we had the one bedroom apartment which was excellent, well equipped and loads of space. We would highly recommend this hotel and this is the second time we have stayed.
Obviously because of where it is in a valley the wifi is poor. we expected this but some may not

Lovely place. Very nice location. We were attending a 3 day festival at Etherow Country Park. 15 minute taxi ride away. Room was comfortable. Mattress a little uncomfortable for me but overall the room was nice. However unfortunately the room wasn't serviced once despite the fact we were there for 3 nights which was disappointing. Breakfast was excellent and the pub itself is lovely. Would definitely stay again but rooms need to be serviced at least every other day for fresh towels and clean bedding. There's really no excuse for not doing that. So in conclusion a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Room not serviced once in 3 days stay. Mattress a little soft and saggy.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The grounds of the hotel were fantastic with something for everyone, swings, slides, goats and shepherd huts! The food was amazing, and I loved the fact it was all locally sourced and a very interesting menu. The room was HUGE and the bathroom spacious. All very tastefully decorated.
The only very minor downside was the early dining time, last sitting 7pm, we would have liked to have dined a little later but in the scheme of things not really an issue, we booked dinner in advance so were prepared for this.

Lovely rural location, was quiet when we were there but imagine it can get very busy in summer as there's a great play area with animals for kids. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would go back.
Room faces directly out onto the shepherd huts (which look down into the room) and also part of a play area, so need to keep the blinds shut if you want privacy. Not the end of the world but worth noting. The (orange coloured) fruit juice at breakfast was odd and undrinkable, but the breakfast was otherwise great. Friendly service for both breakfast and evening meal.

The owners have created a lovely relaxed atmosphere where every member of team greets you with a smile and a chat. The whole pace is dog friendly so our pouches could roam around and chill, they had the best time. The bar is a comfortable country space with beautiful log fire. The food was first class. Bedroom was excellent, very clean and spacious with an extremely comfy bed. The outside area is pretty, with an old mill wheel and loads of places to sit and enjoy. Also very child friendly with a lots for little ones to do with swings and slides and climbing frames and little animals everywhere. Phone signal isn’t great in the area so free WiFi is a bonus.
