The Wishing Well

Friendly staff throughout It is a beautiful old and quirky Inn, with the wishing well and inglenook fireplaces in the dining areas. Room was comfortable and clean, but a little noisy, which we knew from the pre stay information, but, as promised, after closing time in the bar below it was quiet. Recently under new management so a few changes are happening, for example breakfast is something new, we had the full English, served on hot plates… thank you! Large car park and a pretty outside area looking into countryside. There is also a small camping area with grass and hard standing.

The location of the Inn were spot on, only 5minutes away from the function we were attending. Very welcomed on arrival. The room was warm and welcoming and the bed was to our liking. The breakfast was very good, lovely and hot with plenty of toast.

We were told on arrival that the buildings are very old and there is some noise that occurs, however the noise from upstairs was deafening with every step pronounced. We also didn’t get black pudding with our breakfast which was disappointing. The shower had a bit of mould around the seal.

(booked for my parent's attending a 50th birthday event had travelled from Cheshire) I checked my parents in..absolutely stunning place to visit/stay... Very very warm welcome. Everything was explained staff go over and beyond to make you're stay 100% breakfast freshly cooked stunningly clean and still had character wouldn't hesitate to recommend

I'll put this down to "personal choice". My parents found the pillows too flat again personal choice so didn't get alot of sleep that evening ( I did say they could have asked but they aren't ones to make any fuss)

I loved the warm welcoming once I arrived, the great ambience. The staff was very warm and tentative to my needs. The open space in the garden area. Beautiful people and the beautiful nature. The breakfast in the morning was very hearty. The atmosphere in the bar was brilliant with music playing and the architecture was amazing. I love the peace and quiet and room was beautiful. The manager shift rooms around to accommodate my need for my disability. I will be returning soon as I want to go to the car show. Thank you and Love always.xxx.

The location or Spalding was ideal for what we needed. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Food in restaurant was excellent and the staff were the most friendly that we have ever come across in any of our many stays in hotels for work. We will return.

Ground floor room I was in was very noisy with creaking floorboards above me for most of the night which I found strange. Earplugs were needed. Breakfast was a bag, which was ok, but first morning I had no drink. Quality of food wasn't great except for the weetabix however this did not detract from the stay

Lovely welcoming comfortable pub with great ale and excellent food. The staff were very attentive and the cooked breakfast was excellent

Please read to the end. Sadly our room was a little tired looking. The mattress was very soft, so much so when you sat on it you could feel the base of the bed, there was chips out of the plaster around plug sockets, the bathroom had a lot of black mould on the walls and the shower head was the same. Our room was on the ground floor and the noise from the guests above us was very loud caused only by very creaky floor boards not the guest being inconsiderate. We did mention this on check out the manager explained that they had only just taken over the pub and the rooms were planned for a refit. He also generously compensated us for our grievances. Once they update the annex accomodation I'm sure they will have a great top rated b&b.

The hotel was very good and the restaurant well subscribed. We had an evening meal there which was excellent, and highly recommended. Our rooms were situated on the ground floor which was fine.

The breakfast was very disappointing as only a breakfast box offered on week days (this was unexpected and not as advertised on the Booking .com site. Eventually a breakfast was offered with the manager offering to cook us breakfast. We agreed that this would not be necessary.

Beautiful location, staff helpful and friendly. Food amazing, fantastic Gluten free options.

Room was very small but comfortable, the bathroom was compact and difficult to use. Could of done with a shelf or two and somewhere to put your shampoo etc while in the shower. The people above us we very noisy and sounded like they were in our room.. The staff did sort this out for us.

Nice friendly staff , clean rooms , food is great really nice reasonable prices. Nice size TV in room , lovely beer garden. Worth staying here very nice.

Beds were a little uncomforatble for my liking , shower was not great I'm a big guy 6' 3" and it's a little tight and a little low also not very powerful. Bit fiddly to get to warm water. Also didn't realise breakfast was in a box not cooked breakfast.

The bed was sooooo very comfy. Had a great nights sleep. Cooked breakfast was enough to keep you going for the rest of the day. Staff pleasant and always smiling. Plenty of park ing

Shower pressure not good. Bathroom a bit tired. Noisy creaky floorboards but can be forgiven due to age of building Evening meal was slow. Table booked 6.30 and 3 hours later we were only just getting desert. but I have to say the food was delicious and we were on no rush.
