This was our second stay at Cley Hall ,last time we were in an upstairs room and this time we had the basement room .I was a bit concerned about staying in a room without windows but it was a huge room with a big bathroom and a kitchenette.It was decorated very nice ,there was a smell of damp when you first walked in but they had a dehumidifier and quite honestly you have to except this in a basement room and once in the room you didn't really notice it .Bed was very comfortable and room was cleaned immaculately. The breakfasts I dont think can be beaten ,I had the scrambled egg and smoked salmon both times ,fresh fruit and tea and coffee .Staff are all really friendly.

The only thing that I could fault which we said last time it is a pity the bar doesn't stay open till later

We booked for two nights to see the revived Spalding Festival of Flowers and chose Cley hall as an excellent location in the heart of Spalding. Staff were very helpful especially regarding the parking arrangements as the day we arrived they had a Wedding Party using up all the spaces. An excellent choice of breakfast items and good quality of the sausages and bacon. Comfortable beds.

I had booked an executive double room unaware that it was located in a conversion of the attic. This involved climbing an extra very steep staircase for access and having to duck our heads sidewise getting in and out of the bed. As we had paid extra for this room its location made it a let down.

The staff were extremely nice. The location on the river was lovely. The room was nice, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was superb and in a lovely room. Provision of plates, crockery and a microwave in the lobby was very helpful.

There was a faint unpleasant smell in our area of Cley Hall (the Coach House) and in our bathroom. Our bathroom extractor fan, though efficient, was very rattly - needs servicing. One of our bedside lamps didn't work. The only really annoying thing was the bar staff making a long work call (about catering for a party) in a very loud, piercing voice while we were sitting in the lobby about 6 pm on Tuesday evening - not what we needed. Please could she be made aware of the impact of this.

Breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked full Monty. Choice of juices, fruit, breads etc. The staff are all very friendly. The bed was so comfy. They are constantly investing money for improvements. The bathroom tiles are a good example.

This is a four star hotel, but the bar closes at 8:00PM, and earlier at weekends, Despite that, they promote cocktails via a leaflet in the bedroom. The shower bracket was broken and impossible to repair at the weekend.

We love the Cley hall stay there every time we visit the area and always have a excellent experience- staff amazing- rooms superb and quality- food & service spot on and location is very central. Nothing to complain about lovely visit every time special comment to Hannah - & Claire the manager so attentive and brilliant people skills . Highly recommend the Cley hall

Everything not 1 thing to complain about sublime accommodation - staff and value for money

Location within Spalding was ideal to walk into the town centre and all its amenities. On site parking on a first come basis. Lovely big room and large comfortable bed.

Nothing much to dislike, on a weekend visit. Only thing would be bar and front door closed from 8pm over weekend, but didn't effect us as we don't tend to frequent hotel bars when visiting places. External view on arrival is a little bit plain and tired looking.

We stayed at Cley Hall twice on our 3 week holiday, both weekends to catch up with family. Our first room was upstairs in the Coach house and was clean and comfortable. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room so it was all that was needed. On our second visit I asked for a room on the ground floor as my parents struggled with the stairs in the coach house, again these rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, I'd say it was the best included breakfast over our whole trip. The checkin and breakfast staff were friendly and provided great service, even on a super busy Sunday morning. The location is close to the town centre and I enjoyed a few early morning walks around the area. Parking onsite is a bit hit and miss but we managed to park in a pay and display down the road when we couldn't find a park onsite

It would have been nice to be able to get a drink from the onsite bar and sit in the garden after 6pm on a Sunday. We managed to get a drink one Sunday afternoon but then found the bar had shut up without a final drinks shout out.

The room was spacious, with a dining table and good cooking facilities. Large comfortable bed. Wi-Fi. New bathroom We are somewhat disabled and find it hard to get out for meals in the evening. We didn’t have to Very nice breakfast. Friendly and considerate staff. The hotel is a historic building with an attractive garden

The approach to the room was a bit awkward

Our room was at the back of the hotel away from the main road, so we weren't disturbed by any noise from the road. The staff were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. There was a lovely big bathroom and kitchenette.

Booking.com didn't send my request to the hotel about splitting the double bed to make it a twin, but this wasn't the hotel's fault. The room also got unbearably hot during the early hours of the morning.

We loved Cley Hall! The room was amazing and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff were so friendly and helpful!

Our only small issue was the we stayed in the junior suite which is on the ground floor next to the stairs, quite a noisy placement. Thete was no insulation around the door which meant that logjt and noise from the hallway penetrated the room quite alot. A small issue to fix and an otherwise amazing stay!
