I have stayed here on a couple of occasions and always found it to be very friendly and welcoming. The staff always greet me kindly , as i do them. A nice place to stay when i am in the area.

The WiFi is sometimes suspect and this was on of those occassions. Nothing else really. I stay in hotels weekly, so I can be very critical of not really bothered and it is a 'tool' for my work so writing about it weekly is also something that I do not care to do too often. I am more likely to write if i have a positive about a hotel.

water pressure was not very good on shower, and it needs to be replaced with a better head as it was not good enough, it also would be better if there was a radiator towel rail in bathroom as it was cold in there it’s ok in summer but not in winter, as you cannot dry your towels after showering, also the restaurant was rather cold especially in the morning having breakfast, we have stayed before but it was in summer we just stayed the one night last time so did not use the shower but now it does won’t updating

The breakfast was ordered from a very restricted menu However the quality and standard of the food was exceptional. The evening menu was extensive and as we were there on a Thursday we qualified for steak night. Good steaks at an incredibly good price. The BBQ ribs were outstanding on our second night.

We really liked all that the Black Horse offered. The staff were very pleasant. Always smiling and doing their best to feel to make us welcome and valued. We were not impressed by the location of the hotel, however suited our purposes as we were close to what we wanted to see.

Excellent hotel, would recommend it to anyone travelling South. Beautiful room, clean, well furnished and with everything you need for an overnight stay. Most importantly very quiet for a great night's sleep. Very friendly staff, especially Ellie, and a great breakfast.

Bit of a wait for dinner as the restaurant was very busy but good food when we were served.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. Although the bedroom we was in could do with a couple of little things ie shelf within the shower and it's big enough to put one in. It was a bit tricky having a shower and having to put your shower gel, shampoo etc on the shower flooring. Also the TV was positioned in a funny place ie to the side of the bed. Would be better if it was on the wall opposite the bed. These are a couple of things that would be useful.

The location was easily accessible, the friendliness of staff and nothing was too much trouble. The pub and red had a nice feel about it, and the food was good and plentiful .

The bathroom in our room had quite a bit of mould on the ceiling and in the shower cubicle.

Velux Windows in Room let in a lot of light so ended up waking earlier than expected. Could hear every noise in Bathroom next door!

Located in a lovely village, the inn served a good English breakfast. My room was spacious, clean and nicley decorated. The area is quiet so no trouble sleeping. Good beer too. I had my dinner there , a nice Fish and Chips followed by Cheese cake-all good.

Doors were heavy to push open -fire doors I believe so that is understandable.

Very welcoming staff, clean room with all the facilities you would expect, comfy bed, great food.

3 Sky lights in the ceiling, none had blinds, so it was very light at sunrise, which in high summer is too early for me. Kettles needs changing as my coffee tasted of lime scale. Food was fantastic but instant coffee for breakfast? A filter coffee machine aren't that expensive.

Had to turn on bedroom radiator as room was cold. One breakfast a little disappointing.Muffins with the Eggs Benedict appeared to to have been microwaved and not toasted making them tough.
