The Lodge at Craigielaw is located in a beautiful setting. It is spotlessly clean - The Housekeeping Team are very efficient. Staff are most friendly, helpful and welcoming - from Receptionists to Bar & Restaurant Staff and Housekeeping - nothing was too much trouble!. The room was stylish with tweed accents, very clean, airy, comfortable and had everything you needed for a stay. The Restaurant menu was excellent with a good choice and not overpriced - The food was most delicious - Breakfast was more than adequate and served in a pleasant room overlooking the courtyard. I really enjoyed my relaxing break and I very much look forward to returning again soon.
There is nothing not to like about The Lodge at Craigielaw, other than I didn't like leaving! Wished I could have stayed a little longer!! :)

This lovely hotel was set on the gorgeous coast which was a joy to drive up to. Just 30 - 40 minutes from Edinburgh’s park and ride, this was definitely a great place for us. The room was comfortable, well equipped and clean. The price was so incredibly reasonable considering the event happening and a breath of fresh air compared to the jacked up prices around the city. The standout for us though was the lovely staff. They made us feel so welcome as we came up to Edinburgh for the Taylor Swift concert. were not only polite and helpful, but made us feel so comfortable celebrating our joy. From offering us bottled water when we returned back at 1am to playing Taylor at breakfast time to help with our post concert blues, we cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. We can admit we’re not the usual clientele but this did not matter in the slightest. Thank you for contributing to an amazing memory!

Location great. Convenience, everything was fine Good food good outlook over golf course
The entrance foyer needs a revamp. Very tired looking We didn’t come to play golf, we travelled from Australia to see the golf coast, First impressions were “what have we done” not helped by our initial room so far away with a non working lift. Be careful which room you choose, the garden rooms look at a wall. We negotiated our way to a golf view room at extra fee, the rest was wonderful.

The price it's great. Also the surroundings are very nice. Our room was very big, and we slept warmly. It was also very quiet, so we appreciated that a lot. It was very convenient that you can do the check in until midnight. We arrived at 11pm due to the fact that we were travelling directly from Skye and we needed to stay at a place close to Edimburgh airport for our last night. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful. You can also find free parking spots.
We just found the bed matress was a little old already and we would advice to change them. That would make the place 100% the best place to stay for a confortable night. Also, we were missing more variety on the breakfast buffet, as you can just find the typical things to prepare yourself a scottish breakfast, but as a person with food intolerances and also having a tummy ache that day, was quite of a challenge being able to eat. However, it was the breakfast was included already to a very good price, so still it's very convenient.

A warm welcome, and a stunning location, with views of the golf course and the beach further away, staff were great, breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed an evening meal with our family who live nearby. One of our family is in a motorised wheelchair with an assistance dog, so finding places to accommodate these is quite difficult. No problems at The Lodge, she sailed through with ease, and enjoyed a delicious meal and drinks in comfortable surroundings with stunning views over the Firth of Forth. The room was very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean.
We would like to come back later in the year, but apparently it’s booked up completely until October.

Very clean, room and bathroom well appointed, view from lounge area lovely over the golf course and Firth of Forth. Hospitality tray well filled. Situated on the John Muir Way so would make a good stopping off point. Short walk to Aberlady which has various amenities. I stayed here in 2023 at the same time of year and there is no reduction in standard. Room very quiet. Felt very comfortable as a single traveller.
Pillows very hard, a soft option would be good. Very good cooked breakfast, continental options limited. Some fruit at breakfast would be nice. Evening meal options a bit pricey, a more basic bar menu would be good. Room overheated but easily remedied by turning off radiators and opening windows wide. This is a waste of money for the Lodge however.

Big room and bathroom, including breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. We liked the proximity to Edinburgh and the views are fantastic. Well maintained grounds and hotel.
Breakfast times were never told to us at check in and they were not available in the room either. We ended up googling breakfast times and they ended up being wrong as upon arrival at breakfast, we were told, in no uncertain terms, that we were cutting it fine as they were about to finish (this at 9.30am on a Sunday). This left a bad taste in our mouth (literally and figuratively!) as we had a rushed breakfast and scurried away as soon as we could.

I can't fault this property at all! It was a truly wonderful experience from the moment we arrived until the moment we left! The staff were all so friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was wonderful, bright, spacious, clean, it had lots of storage room and the most spectacular view over the Firth! The food was lovely too, would highly recommend the steak pie and chips! We were sad to be leaving, but will definitely stay here again in the future! Thank you all for a wonderful experience!
Nothing!

The bed was super comfortable and really big. The walk in shower was good. Breakfast was good. All the staff I met were nice and friendly. Lovely view of the golf course and The Firth of Forth from my window.
The dinner at the restaurant was average. The roast beef was lovely and nice and soft but the rest of it was rather dry. The roast potatoes were really dry and chewy. The Yorkshire pudding was huge but it was completely dried out so it was really powdery. There was only a tiny bit of gravy over the meat only. Slept well but the green light in the room was a bit annoying.

The hotel was so clean and tidy. The room was bright and spacious with an excellent view of the sea and golf course. The parking space is plentiful and easy to access. The restaurants and breakfast area were excellent. We ate lunch and dinner there which were fantastic however the buffet breakfast was poor. It was sadly very limited and not hot. However overall I would highly recommend the hotel.
Breakfast was poor considering the price of our stay.
