The property is beautiful. So warm, welcoming and in an excellent location. We chose to book room 6 (Dolwyddelan) because we loved the look of the old beams and the cosy set up and we were not disappointed. It was beautiful! The room even featured a smart LG TV with all the streaming apps you could want (Netflix, Amazon, IPlayer etc), so perfect if you just want to stay in and enjoy your room. The bathroom facilities were equally brilliant, with a fab shower and lovely complimentary toiletries provided. Special mention to the scented diffusers, I’ve bought the same ones for my home now because they were incredible! We had breakfast both mornings in the main building and Pattra was just the most genuinely lovely host, nothing was too much trouble. She was happy to have a chat if you were feeling talkative or leave you to enjoy your breakfast in peace and enjoy the atmosphere. The food was beautiful with both a full cooked breakfast and a wide selection of pastries, yoghurts, cereal and juices, nothing was missing. If we are ever in the area again we will absolutely return to Castle cottage inn and have recommended it it all our friends and family.
Parking is limited but that is the nature of the location, being centrally located in such a small, beautiful old town. We were lucky that only the 3 of 7 rooms were booked during our 2 night stay so we always managed to get 1 of the 3 parking spaces, but I can imagine this being difficult when the place is fully booked.

The room was large with a big comfortable bed and the powerful walk-in shower was just what we needed after a long day of walking. Pattra, our host, was extrememely friendly and accommodating, she made us feel very welcome. There was a choice of cereals, fresh fruit and toast available for breakfast, plus freshly cooked hot food to order. I chose the vegetarian option and the eggs, which were sourced locally, were particularly good. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and again, the food and service were great. Would recommend booking an upstairs room as it is a very old building and can hear footsteps from the room above.

Staff were so welcoming and attentive. The room was well equipped with anything we may have needed and very clean and decorated nicely. The bed was comfortable and a great size and the T.V gave options to log into other streaming. Breakfast was made fresh and was very tasty. 1 minute walk to the castle and brilliant view from castle.
Pillows were a bit lumpy, and ceilings were low (6ft) due to the age of the property. There was an incredibly steep hill to climb, which was a surprise and tricky with other traffic that we weren't expecting. A bit of fun but be aware if you have a large and heavy vehicle. Walls were a bit thin and we could hear other guests' TV late at night.

The property requests you to book food prior to your stay, which seemed strange. The 'hotel' appears to be run between two members of staff. One of whom also operates the restaurant, which is only open two days a week, the other deals with the morning breakfasts. Both of these people were lovely, chatty and welcoming. The bar facility, which also houses a eating area for residents appears to only really open if you pre-book. Once again the staff we met were really nice, especially Sarah. So, if you don't eat here, you cant eat anywhere.
The stay here was designed to be a base in order to visit other areas. Firstly, the accommodation is on the 'steepest street in the world'. There are three parking spaces available, but if you have a very large vehicle, like us, you will soon realise that parking here is not a good move. You will need to park in the Castle car park, 200mtrs away. Not good when its raining hard. If you are thinking of going to Harlech beware: during the week there are NO restaurants open and the only pub opens at 6pm, but, does not serve food.

We were greeted on arrival by Pattra who came out to our car to welcome us and show us to our room. Our room was excellent in all ways. The next morning at breakfast, which again was excellent, my wife’s birthday was acknowledged with a ‘Happy Birthday ‘ banner on the window, next to where we were seated. In addition to this we had two small bottles of Prosecco with two champagne flutes on our table. This was a lovely touch. Our waitress, Sarah, was very friendly and efficient. If we visit Harlech again in the future then we will definitely book to stay at Castle Cottage Inn.
Car parking is limited outside the hotel. However it is possible to park for free on the main road from 6pm - 10am, a short distance from the hotel. This was explained to us on booking and was not a problem.

Pattra was an exceptional host - nothing was too much trouble and she was very welcoming. Our room was spacious and comfortable - the en-suite was too. Lovely breakfast cooked for individual requirements. Great location - fab views.
Parking on site os rare with a hotel but it was very tricky to fit on the assigned area. When driving out the road is one way and goes down a very steep slope - our car was slippy with brakes and hill assist. We found a car park by the castle which is a very short walk away and cheap and avoids the hill drive - if you’re no confident it’s better to pay (quite cheap) there and walk.

Fabulous stay , accommodation , our room was superb , service and food (we had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant ) both were exceptional , food and service could not fault. The guest experience from check in to check out was impeccable, and Pattra couldnt do enough for us., little touches made my birthday stay one to remember. We parked outside the Inn , which was ideal and her attention to detail and customer service was impeccable, all the restaurant staff were lovely , and made us feel most welcome. The location was super for us . We shall be back and would highly recommend . Thankyou Pattra and the team . Thoroughly recommend .
Could not find fault . Super place to stay .

Firstly excellent location, adjacent to the Castle itself. Offering all you could need and more. There is a Breakfast room, Pattra’s Restaurant and The Aviation Bar - with a wonderful view. Choice of ‘British’ menu and Thai menu for dinner. If you choose to have dinner, which you should, we would recommend the Thai option. It was delicious! Breakfast was beautifully laid out with extensive choices including cooked options. The rooms are so well appointed absolutely faultless. Tea and coffee making Lovely shower room all high quality toiletries and fixtures and fittings. So many first class personal touches! The beds were so comfortable and the linens top quality.
Nothing! The time frame for breakfast is a rather small window 8-9am. However that probably suits the majority of travellers to wales. Check out is 10.30.

If we could score higher than 10 we would! Practically perfect in every way! Our room ( room 3) had a stunning view of the Castle and the sea, it was absolutely spotlessly clean and tidy. The hospitality tray in our room was nothing other than outstanding! decent coffee, biscuits and hot chocolate. The bath was a total luxury , great for soaking thoses aches and pains after a day at zip world! The location of the hotel is close to lots of beautiful beaches and attractions-perfect for a summer holiday in North Wales. We opted to have residents dinner ( please pre order!) which just so happened to be authentic Thai food- absolutely delicious!! ( other dishes are available). Breakfast, again great quality ingredients, lots of options. And last but by no means least our wonderful host. Nothing is too much trouble, you are made to feel so welcomed and cared for from the moment you step through the door. Thank you for our wonderful stay! We highly recommend 👌 “สวัสดีค่ะ” Sawasdee ka Vickie and Phil

Old building but very nicely renovated, with some deliberate displays of the old beams, etc. Large spacious, comfortable bed room with very large bed and large modern bathroom. Very nice breakfast room with excellent breakfast included in the price.
The bus did not take us as close to this hotel as we thought it would. And some said maybe not all #39 buses come up to the top of the hill anyway. Note very safe or easy to walk down with luggage to the railroad station, but Inn owner called a taxi for us (and driver said not even he wants to take the most direct street- which is the "steepest in the world".)
