The farmhouse was in quite a remote location in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. I didn't much like the single carriage country roads where several times we encountered oncoming vehicles, but it was definitely worth it when we arrived. The house is charming and a little old fashioned but it was delightful and very relaxing..We were very warmly welcomed by Will who cooked our delicious breakfast each morning, and a bit later by Lucy too. Will kindly helped with our luggage when we arrived, and took my case upstairs. Each morning we were served our breakfast in a charming dining room which was full of antique furniture, interesting paintings, and had a beautiful old fireplace. The table was set in a very traditional way and it was all so nice. Will told us a little of the history of the house which dates back a very long time, and when asked, recommended a great village pub/restaurant in Hartest close to the village green. where we ate twice. The vines outside gave some shade across the windows and it was just a bit like being in a very peaceful bygone age. The dogs were very friendly, well behaved and liked to be petted. Our room was huge, bright and airy and the bed was very comfortable. It was lovely and light with double aspect windows and it led on to a large bathroom/WC with the biggest bath I have ever seen.

If perhaps we could have stayed longer but, unfortunately, we couldn't. It would have been good to have had a waste bin in the bedroom as well as in the bathroom.

Beautiful property, very welcoming owners, a real home from home. A very comfortable bed led to a great nights sleep followed by a delicious cooked breakfast. I wouldn’t hesitate to return here and look forward to doing so. The local pub is superb, great food and beer. All in all a great stay. Thank you!

Absolutely nothing.

Will and Lu were brilliant hosts and very welcoming. Bathroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The only sound was a chorus of birds tweeting each morning and the dogs greeted us on our return at the end of our days adventure.

We hoped for a shower rather than the bath but knew what to expect as we read the other reviews before hand.

We loved the airy room with the enormous bathroom attached and the giant, very comfortable, bed. The room has a double aspect with lovely views over the garden. It is wonderfully silent at night, being deep in the Suffolk countryside, so we had a fantastic night's sleep. The breakfast was generous and delicious and the hosts are very friendly. We ate in the family's charming dining room and our every need was catered for. The location is great as Hartest is a very pretty village but it is not far at all from Bury. On our last visit to Waldegrave, we tried out the village pub where the food was very good. On this visit, we ventured further afield to Clare. I cannot fault Waldegrave farm. It was a most pleasant stay and we will definitely be back.

It was all good.

If you're planning on staying at Waldegrave Farm, come down to breakfast with a good appetite! You probably won't need much in the way of lunch. Excellent bedroom and bathroom, and a very friendly host. Our 2nd visit and we hope to return.

I wouldn't change anything, though the authorities could do with sorting out some of the potholes in the area's roads. If approaching at night, keep a special watch out for deer on the roads.

It was a lovely room with an en suite, coffee/tea making facilities, TV and beautiful views. The location is very remote but did what I needed which was to get away and be somewhere quiet so I could focus. Although remote and there wasn't any pubs or shops within close walking distance, Bury St Edmunds was only 15 minute drive away. The host was great and very welcoming. The breakfast was also very nice with warm crossiants, filter coffee (or pot of tea), fresh orange juice, choice of cereals and a full English. The dining room that ate in was beautiful with some absolutely adorable salt and pepper collection.

Wasn't so much that I didn't like it I just hadn't been prepared for the room to be within the family home. As a result the check in was a little awkward since I hadn't taken any of it in to account and has to ring on arrival to work out in the dark where I needed to go. I love dogs, but I also didn't remember seeing anywhere so my welcome by one as I came down in the morning was a little of a surprise. They were well behaved though and generally left me alone after the initial hello.

A wonderful place to stay, the location is excellent in the most beautiful part of Suffolk and the house is tucked away on a small narrow lane on top of a hill. What made the place even more wonderful and our stay special was how nice the hosts were. We had a long chat with them, talked about life, politics and it made us both feel really at home. The breakfast was stellar, we firmly agree, beans should not come near a breakfast but black pudding is essential.

Nothing at all.

We enjoyed the faded glory of this wonderful house filled with history in a magnificent room with very comfortable bed. It was a pleasure to talk with the owner during a hearty cooked breakfast accompanied by his well behaved old spaniel.

Cleanliness was poor and I had to improvise for bath gel.

The room size was spacious very clean and homely position of room was situated at front of house excellent parking provision very good and secure. Being set back from a narrow country road there was minimal if any traffic noise The decor was in keeping with the age of the property Our hosts were very welcoming and we enjoyed a generous sized cooked breakfast

The room we occupied had a large on suite bathroom with generous sized bath but did not have showering provision which would have been a bonus

Beautiful, tranquil double aspect bedroom with a large bathroom. The only sound was bird song and we had a very good night's sleep. Lou and Will are welcoming hosts and they cooked us a delicious hearty farmhouse breakfast. The farmhouse is set in a very pretty part in of the Suffolk countryside with charming villages.

It was all lovely. No negatives.
