Room 446 Getting out of the room !! The Yorkshire tea bags !!

Everything !! It was totally over priced ! One person had to lay on the bed to allow the other to move around the room . I actually tripped over my wife as we crossed to use the bathroom at 2.00 am ,scared me to death !!!! i supposed it was quite romantic really as we haven’t been that close for years . The view out of the window was unique ! A brick wall ! Yes a brick wall 12 inches from the window !!! The room was that dark I thought there was a eclipse of the sun !!! Complained at reception on checking out expecting something knocking off the bill or a chocolate or some gesture ! but all i got was a lovely smile!!! ( nice teeth though)

From start to finish a fantastic stay! The Majestic used to be a jewel in the crown for Harrogate, but had over several years been neglected by it's previous owners. I can safely say that it is now back to where it belongs. Staff are very helpful, and although I can't vouch for the bar or restaurant as I didn't use them, I've no doubt they would be up to par. The room was immaculate and very spacious and so comfortable I am planning to come back in the very near future. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, with the quality and location of it being exceptional.

Great location. Lovely hotel and well equipped facilities. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on this.

Just few things re leisure facilities - only 1 shower out of 5 had a working lock - which I felt could be easily rectified . Also the dryer for swimwear was broken and had to use men’s changing room one. These small things would help contribute to the star rating it deserves. Also check in was slow - it appeared that everyone had to wait till 4pm (not even 5-10mins earlier) and people were directed to the bar to wait which resulted in a busy bar. Also was told at check in my credit card was saved to the room yet later that night at the bar was told there was no card saved and meant we had to pay for drinks. Perhaps better training is needed here with reception

Location was perfect and the room was beautiful. The staff in reception and at the swimming pool were all lovely and welcoming. Rooms had everything we needed and were very clean and so comfortable.

We ordered room service which was £35 for a couple of soft drinks, 1 pizza and fries. The pizza was ok, not the best quality just a basic cheap pizza & the chips were not edible. They came stone cold and soggy - we didn’t eat them. Not worth the money we paid and definitely wouldn’t order room service if we returned to stay.

Lovely grand hotel, location is perfect for the centre of Harrogate. Loved the pool, salt room and steam saunas. Staff are welcoming and pleasant. The restaurant is beautiful fabulous breakfast with something for everyone. A really nice period hotel. Loved the towel swans on the bed.

Dinner was lovely but menu is limited...there's a fine dinning menu and a half board menu both have a few options but not for fussy eaters. You can get pizza and burgers from another part of the hotel...in our room 102 no view from window looked out on to a raised stone platform...all in all a lovely stay.

On arrival, I was asked if I wanted to leave a tab open for drinks etc. I said yes, on seeing it was up to a hundred pounds I went to the desk to cancel it. That didn't happen, and for some reason, another 234 pounds was put on my bill! On showing the receptionist my bank details, she didn't seem bothered and said it was only in pending. I replied that I wanted it removed immediately, but it is still there. It is now the weekend and my bank details will not show up yet, but I will be extremely cross if I am overcharged. Obviously I will get it back, I have the receipt for the proper charge, but this should not have happened.

Didn’t have breakfast at hotel, queue waiting to go in. Location was excellent. Walked to all the things we wanted to see and do. The path at back of hotel put you close to everything. Our room was very large and comfortable and nice sized bathroom.

Unfortunately I couldn’t book in for any spa treatment as they were booked out. You need to book well in advance which i could have done if i had of been informed. Disappointing. Our room was very hot, its summer! Had to keep all the windows open to cool the room so i could sleep as the beds have dooners on which was hot to sleep under!

Even though the interior of the hotel has been modernised, it does not detract from the grandeur of the of historic building. The room and bed were comfortable and mostly quiet. The location is perfect for exploring Harrogate. The pool /spa facilities were nice.

Disappointing that parking was an additional charge. The room was quiet with respect to other guests, but it sounded like there was some sort of air handling unit outside that we could hear rumbling, especially with the window open. The room was very, very hot. Fully appreciate it is a historic building, so has its limitations but the fan that was provided in the room, was a token gesture at best, as it was next to useless in terms of cooling/power. The exterior of the hotel needs attention to reflect the grandeur of the building.

Beautiful building, very impressive entrance and restaurant areas. Great location just a few minutes walk into town. Very friendly staff.

There were very few parking spaces available and they were very narrow. Also you are charged £12 a day regardless of when you arrive/depart. Female Spa changing rooms were not very clean with old plasters and stickers in the shower area, all soap and shampoo dispensers from the showers had been removed by the second day of our trip and generally hair, debris and water on the floors which were very slippy. Bedroom had thick dust around the beds, bedside tables, soap dispenser had come off from the wall and was just sat on the side, carpet not well hoovered. Small things which can be easily fixed and would make a huge difference!

There was building work out the back covered the gardens we like coming to sit out and look at the gardens I wish we had been told that there would of been an event or something going on so not happy about that . We stayed for our wedding anniversary 23rd July 2023 . We where also told by a lady on the phone called Christina that we will have gifts in our room so we thought how lovely but nothing at all was a bit disappointing. .. we came for our honeymoon last year got chocolate champagne this time we got nothing after being told as well not like this hotel they normally look after you so was disappointing ..
