The hotel was in an excellent location but most of all the hotel was absolutely spotless

The checkin staff on arrival! Came across rude unfriendly & could have been more pleasant & informative on parking & where our room was & other aspects of what the hotel had to offer!

Lovely big room and well fitted out big bathroom. Comfy beds. Nice buffet breakfast, Location very central. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was quite noisy at times - sound proofing between floors is poor. However, I did not ask for a quiet room, and a bit of noise doesn't bother us. The hotel is well aware of this issue and generously gave us a gift on the night they had a wedding on and expected noise. I've had better breakfasts, but it was a convenient buffet, and bearing in mind the price not bad. The hotel has limited parking and charges for use overnight, hence we parked a few mins walk away, this could bother some guests, as you can't reserve a space outside the hotel. The price for being so centrally located. There could have been more storage in the bedroom, plenty o f space for it, you would need it for a longer stay.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, on the second floor and quiet at night as requested. We had an excellent DB&B deal which was great value for money. Generally the food was of very good quality. The buffet breakfast offered a wide choice of continental and traditional fare. The hotel is ideally located for shopping or business in the centre of Harrogate. Car parking is very limited in front of the hotel but we easily found a space in the park opposite.

Facilities are not the most modern, but this is a hotel with heritage.

The staff are exceptional. Always eager to help and please. The room was just right size. The location is a short walk from everywhere. 10 minute walk to the railway station. The ceilings are high, which creates a sense of more space. This is a Victorian building with all the space that Victorian design brings.

The hotel looks a little tired. Part of the problem is the colour scheme chosen. Realistically, there is no onsite parking. The small car park was always full, but there is overnight free street parking and with a little ballet with moving the car by 8A.M. for more free parking, it was okay.

Everything really, the staff couldn't be more helpful, dining room food was very good. The rooms were clean and comfy beds No complaints at all.

The afternoon tea was a let down, and didn't look like the advertisement in reception area, or online. it was a pathetic excuse of aftermoon tea to be honest and not worth 28.00, I hate to complain but I just showed the manager the photo online of the supposedly afternoon tea, and said that it was just not anyway the same standard... No fruit or cream on the cakes, or sausage rolls. The manager was very nice about it and was apologetic to us.,and said that he would take it back and that we could order again from another menu.. Sadly this was a let down as this was for a hotel stay for a two nights birthday treat paid for by my sister. Fortunately everything was very nice

The hotel was on a nice area very close to everything. When we got to hotel we were told our room had been double booked and they had a single room made up as a twin for the first night and we would be moved to a suite for the next night. Not much we could do but accept and my god it was dire. A single bed and a camp bed, someone had left an energy drink in there and it stank !! The toilet when flushed made a god awfully noise !. But the next night we were moved and it was a really lovely suite, massive, clean and very comfortable so I suppose it did make up for the night before. We did use the Churchill restaurant on the second and it was fabulous. The quality of food and service was excellent

The first night .....

I liked the choice of breakfast from continental to English. Information was given about things that are happening around the hotel and the explanations why things are. maybe not to everyone's liking. Even so the guests were well informed. I also liked the traffic light system concerning breakfast eating times. I also liked where the hotel is situated, it is in a good place for restaurants and drinking houses, after a good night out, it's not too far to travel back to the hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful with the guests' needs. I also liked that the towels were changed every day if you wanted, and the beverages were replaced when empty.

The floor boards are sqeaky in the room... but also informed by another guest that their floor boards are squeaky to, so maybe that isn't too bad knowing theirs is the same.

Great traditional hotel. Parking could be an issue unless you have requirements but this was no problem for me as AI was given a parking space as traveling with my elderly mother. The room was good, basic furniture but clean with good supply of hot water for baths and showers. The beds were comfortable with good thick matress. Facilites great, particularly the food. Good choice of menu for all meals. Waiter, Ollie, was a joy and nothing was too much trouble for him during our evening meals. Great staff, great hotel and a good deal for central Harrogate with the half board package. Would love to come back soon.

The cards for the door were very tempramental and may need a supply of new card to discard old ones that have been overused, it was a pain having to leave mother on the and go down to reception to re set the card. Staff apologised but I wonder if the first card needed throwing away. Another guest had the same issue.

The building and its decor were amazing. I loved the ceilings. We had a large comfortable room. The food was excellent and the staff were helpful. Molly went out of her way to ensure we were well served in the dining room.

The organisation of the buffet breakfast could be improved, making sure there was enough equipment available for making tea and coffee, collecting milk etc. Things had to be asked for and people were waiting.

Everything was smooth at check in We found that we had had an upgrade to an executive room which looked out the front of the building Marvellous The room was very spacious with a large comfortable bed Tea and coffee tray A good sized Beth room with shower over the bath Toiletries by H2K A local company not far from the hotel On arrival we had received a lovely message from the hotel wishing us a happy anniversary, which was the reason for our stay and to be in Harrogate So good we extended our stay! Good location for the town very convenient for everything Well done and a Big Thank you The Crown Team We will return as soon as we can and have recommended The Hotel
