This is 2nd time we have been to the Pike and eel this time for 2 nights , we stayed in one of the chalets next to the marina which is perfect for us, it would be perfect if they had a little kitchen area however we had our little stove with us so we cooked breakfast, there is a table + bench just outside the chalet , husband was happy doing a little fishing in the river, there is a nice bar in the main building, there's also a couple of pubs nearby, St Ives town is just a short car ride for more shopping.. We would definitely come back.

No fridge

Needed mum and dad time. This was ideal. We had booked lunch at a venue nearby for high tea and this hotel was recommended by a friend as its less than 15 mins away. It's remote, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. It's an old building, full of charm. A lovely heavy old oak door to the entrance. We would have loved to eat here in the evening but when we got back to the room as most mum and dads do we fell asleep! One of the nest nights sleep I've had in a while. Bathroom was spacious and staff were friendly on arrival. We want to go back to eat at the restaurant as the menu looked amazing. Will return when we can organise mum and dad time again. Great value for money

What wasn't to like? Our stay was quiet. It was overcast and rainy but we like that weather. Car park spacious. Everything was clean. A spider in the corner of the room and a mosquito which was quickly dispatched were only things we didn't like!

Beautiful location. Excellent staff - very friendly and helpful. Delicious cooked breakfast, served by a superbly helpful staff member, and with a wonderful view. Comfortable bed. Peaceful. Having a little bench outside our room to sit at. Information pack in room: helpful and friendly. Having places in bar and outside where you can have a drink or meal with your dog, rather than having to leave them in the car or room. Very good walks all around.

The room was in need of a little TLC - frayed curtains, missing poles for blinds, but these were very minor and didn’t spoil our stay.

A nice room in the main. Spacious and bright. Comfortable.

A couple of points: Bed shifted (slid on casters) if I sat on it. There were no nets or blinds on the huge windows, so didn't feel in a private space unless I kept the curtains closed. It was noisy from 7am, as the person in the next room turned their TV on and it is attached to the wall next to the head of my bed. Also, lots of cars started to arrive for a car show and were moving and revving their engines at this time. Perhaps I should have been given a different room, rather than one next to the car park.

The Staff, especially Kevin, was totally helpful! The room was very large and had big windows overlooking the surrounding nature. The food was good, and the view from the dining room overlooking the river was lovely.

The facility needed more attention to cleanliness and areas that needed repairs, etc….especially in the bathroom. The bathroom also needed a shelf for our toiletries. Our room was a great size, but did not have enough furniture to make it feel cozy & comfortable.

The bed was super comfortable, I loved the pictures of the hare in the Dr Hare room! It was spotlessly clean and tidy and the blanket in the room was super fluffy and warm. We didn’t book breakfast with the room but chose to have it in the morning and for the additional £12.50 each the breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked, tasty and great portion sizes! Not only can you have the cooked menu but you also have self service cereals, toast and fruit juices. We’ve really enjoyed our stay and will be back again!

Not a dislike at all, we didn’t have any milk portions in our room but we didn’t ask for any from the bar as it’s not the end of the world it was missing!

Beautiful venue. Lovely location. The food and restaurant was very nice..Price was reasonable.

The room in the main building has a lovely view and is very quirky but the floor felt like it was going to fall down and there was no shower, only a bath. The poppadom that came with the curry with our evening meal was poor. I did tell the amazing waiting staff. General cleanliness in public areas could have been much better, big cobwebs on alot of light fittings and lots of dead insects on a windowsill in the stairwell.

It was a great location, food was fantastic. We had evening meals and breakfast there. The ladies that served breakfast were fantastic, a real credit to the pike and eel.

The room was OK, but could have done with a better clean. There was a few marks on the carpet, round the sink in the bathroom wasn't really clean. The bathroom could have done with finishing off, at the back of the toilet there was a piece of wood that could have done with painting. There was a cover to hide the pipes that was on the floor when we arrived, that could have done with been glued on. The tiles on the floor could have done with grouting properly, it was mostly grey with patches of white grout.

Welcoming and helpful staff. A first class evening meal in a cosy pub atmosphere at a quiet time of year, with excellent service. Our very good value accommodation was accessed outside and may not suit everyone in winter; but the accommodation itself was warm and comfortable. The marina and riverside location is excellent, as was the full breakfast served.

The door lock on our room was difficult to operate externally and needed attention, but this is a late review and perhaps fixed by now.

Location and view were fabulous, slightly off the main road down to the marina and river. Many river boats to watch whilst enjoying a drink on the expansive lawned Gardens. The price was good. The room was comfortable with reasonable amenities. Our room felt spacious. Nice bed linen and comfy beds. An electric fan was provided for our comfort. Tea, coffee, and biscuits. Quiet.

We were told that there was no dinner service after 8 pm. Our room needed a little more dusting. One set of window blinds had fallen off the hanging rail, which we had to rehang. The front door had a split in it. The bedside lamps didn't work. Mozzies. Lots of them.
