beautiful location, quiet , lovely gardens, friendly helpful staff, lovely food , what more do you want?

The only reason I gave an overall score of 9/10 rather than 10/10 was the check in procedure, the phones were very busy and someone else was waiting to check in , someone else to pay a bar bill and we were kept waiting for a little while, I felt a little uneasy, but after that everything was lovely, staff were super helpful, putting on breakfast an hour early for us as we had an early start. The rooms were very comfortable , breakfast was lovely. I would highly recommend and would happily return .

This is a genuine boutique hotel, with just 10 rooms. We are a family of 4 (11 and 8 years kids). We stayed in room 10, which was a really good size for four, with separate single beds for the boys. The hotel was not at all tired, as so many country hotels are, but recently renovated to a high standard. The little things (sheets, toiletries etc) were also excellent quality. The staff were excellent, very friendly and really went out of their way to be helpful - one morning we had to leave before the usual breakfast service, and they opened early especially for us. The breakfast is excellent (it is also very good value for non guests and would certainly be worth a visit for that if you were in the area). Vicky was especially helpful and friendly throughout our stay, and seemed to be at the reception desk all hours of the day. The pool and spa are good (although not extensive), with great views and the gym is excellent - much better than many larger hotels I have stayed in.

We were looking for a place to spend a few days away from the city and in the country side before we head home and after searching for a while we came across Walwick hall, it delivered exactly what we were looking for and more, the hotel is in a calm and quiet area surronded by lovely scenery, the room was perfect in size and and design, the breakfast was great as well as the food options in the restaurant and last but not least all the staff without exception were wonderful during our stay, this place ticked all the boxes!

Although not a major comment but we felt the food served at dinner wasn't as good as the other meals we've had in this hotel, although the chefs are very creative and the dishes look wonderful.

the hotel closed for the Queen’s funeral which was alarming as we were walking Hadrian’s Wall with no alternative but then graciously offered alternative accommodation in the very well equipped self catering Stables which ultimately was a significant upgrade on their part at no extra cost. Rachel the owner really showed her caring side as a host by personally driving us the half mile to the Stables when we arrived to a closed hotel (see below)

we were not given directions to the Stables when we were relocated but fortunately we bumped into the owner Rachel through an open back door who kindly offered to drive us the half mile to the Stables. As we were walking Hadrian’s Wall we were on foot. Without meeting the owner I am not sure how / how long it would have taken us to find our accommodation as it was not obvious to us.

Was all very good so nothing to add here

Everything simply perfect: estate, quality of the finishing, furniture, cleaning, spa, gym, staff last but not least the food: look like in the pictures but taste even better :-). the location is perfect to visit the Hadrian wall and Roman city ruins as well as a nice museum. nice area for hiking following the Hadrian wall path. less then 50 Miles from Alnwick castle or Bamburg castle and many other National trust spot. Beautiful landscape.

Super pool, hot tub and facilities. Very clean. Friendly, considerate staff. A great welcome drink on arrival.

Couldn't find a hairdryer in the room which was a surprise as even the premier Inn has one ,and the bathroom towel rail was on full blast which made it into a steam room as the temperature had been really hot for a couple of weeks. Couldn't find any control for it.

Well located on Hadrian's Wall trail. Beautiful room, with views on the countryside. The bed was the most comfortable we slept on along Hadrian's Wall. The room came with access to the spa, which consisted of a medium size swimming pool, a hot tub, and a steam room. The breakfast was exceptional, with fresh squeeze orange juice, rhubarb pancakes, brioche french toast, and we could always order more at no extra cost. Dinner was very refined and excellent, but obviously on the pricey side.

This was the priciest stay on our expedition, but well worth it.

We stayed for my 60th birthday and the team at the hotel made sure that everything was absolutely perfect. The room was better than perfect. The food was first class both breakfast and evening meal and the staff could not do enough for you. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay there again. The pool area was lovely too. Thank you so much for such a wonderful holiday

The only slight moan I could think of was that the gym and Sauna were closed but the Sauna did open before we had to depart so we got to enjoy that

Walwick hall ticked every box in terms of our expectations, never felt as relaxed anywhere else as we did here. Staff couldn't do enough and ever so welcoming and friendly. The accommodation and estate was absolutely exceptional and immaculate decor with lots of attention given to detail to make your stay that little more special.

That we had to leave after our 1 night booking but will return later in the year.
