Top notch stay, room was great, everything like new and in good working order.. and excellent preparation & cleanliness by the room staff.. comfy bed, fantastic shower… never heard a flight going overhead (which was great). 10 minute walk from the south terminal along an established footpath… the lovely Natasha gave me inch-perfect directions when I called. Not much around but can catch the train at the airport and head to Brighton or London

Avoid the bar/restaurant on the first floor.. service was really, really lacking and the food was awful, inedible

Great base for an early flight. Having stayed at a couple of other Gatwick hotels, I thought this was the best of the bunch in terms of room size, quality and facilities. Nice to have both a kettle and a nespresso machine in the room; great also to have a refrigerator. Air conditioning was good and strong. There's a service station with KFC, McDonalds and M&S nearby, so some convenient food options if you don't want to eat at the hotel.

Not the hotel's fault... but the walking route from the terminal to the hotel isn't very pleasant... crossing car parks and a busy access road. Poorly signposted too. The next morning I took the Hoppa bus to the terminal - and this is a preferable option (especially to the North Terminal, where my flight departed). Get to the Hoppa!

The food was great in the restaurant, and we had quick and friendly service, it was pleasant and worth eating there. The room was clean and spacious and comfortable, quiet and private. Proximity to the airport served it purpose well.

I felt our welcoming could of been more friendly, the lady at reception was professional, but not very warm. the room was great but it would of been nice to have a biscuit or rusk with our tea in the morning. There was also no body lotion provided and that is normally provided at most hotels (so we did not pack it) - so it was rather missed after our shower. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

The property is very clean and contemporary, and exactly what we needed for a short but comfortable stay before flying out of Gatwick. Rooms were quiet and not affected by airport noise. The location is one of the closest hotels to the Southern Terminal; however, for us (2 adults, a 3 year old and 3 huge suitcases) it was too far to walk so we needed to use the airport shuttle to get to and from the terminal. This was absolutely fine, but just something to consider as we probably would have selected one of the cheaper hotels slightly further away had we known we’d need the shuttle.

The front desk staff were quite unfriendly at check in, and seemed disgruntled about simply doing the basics of their job… We felt pretty uncomfortable but I wondered if they were new staff / untrained as their demeanor didn’t reflect what you’d normally expect from front desk hospitality staff.

only thing is that my flight got cancelled very late evening and I booked room in bookings.com. I wanted to know all was ok because there was a few of us finding rooms. I call hotel, spoke to receptionist and advise how far is the hotel driving she mentioned around 10 mins away. what she could of said as well, there is the airport transfers that stops at the hotel that comes every 20/40 mins. I had bad experience getting to the hotel that evening got there just before midnight. when I could of been there earlier! when I finally there that’s when I saw a leaflet that advised of transfers.

We had a very early flight from Gatwick so decided to stay at the 'Courtyard by Marriot over night. From the moment we arrived we couldn't have asked for better service from the staff.When going to our room we were surprised firstly by its size and then its up to the minute decor . Facilities were great and being so close to the airport terminal we were impressed by the lack of noise. Overall cleanliness couldn't be faulted. All in all we couldn't fault the hotel and it made our trip so much easier. Thank you and well done.

The breakfast could have been a bit better but can't remember the details. Also it reads that it's a 10 minute walk from the Airport Terminal and it's not true; also the shuttle one walks for miles to get to the stop and that night it went in circles always returning to the same place the Travellodge until finally the driver deigned to go to the Courtyard, should advice it's better to take a taxi, especially if it's a late arrival

The room were very nice, it is very close to the terminal, because of that early morning flights were easy to catch as there was no pressure of reaching to the airport late. People who are to travel to north terminal. I would suggest if the shuttle are running late from the hotel which they were when we went, the best way will be to go to south terminal which is 10 minute walk from the hotel, and use the free airport shuttle to reach north terminal, which may be quicker then the hotel shuttle.

It was pleasant that there were walking instructions of how to get to the hotel from the exit of the South Terminal of Gatwick Airport, and back. The hotel facility is thus in convenient proximity to the South Terminal so that you really don't need to depend on a shuttle if you are traveling with light carry-on luggage only, as I did on this particular trip. Although the hotel has come of age, the facility is still pretty functional and it is definitely catering to international guests, permitting them to use mobile phone chargers, laptops and other electrical components, even if you don't have an adapter for the British plug norm. The wall outlets are compatible with the German (DIN) plug norm as well. Vending machines for drinks and sweet snacks are operating with credit card access, so that you don't need British pound coins to get refreshment drinks or snacks.

For being an international hotel I expected for the TV to have access to international news channels like CNN and others, but the TV program package was disappointingly very limited in that sense.

Great location for early flight, super clean and can’t hear the planes at all. The receptionist Renee gave us the perfect welcome, just the right amount of information and helpfulness - I used to work in reception for many years and its not often I am pleasantly surprised. The staff at checkout were also lovely, I think the customer service is what made this stay memorable.

We turned off the AC cause it was noisy and the room got a bit too warm to sleep comfortably, I found the bed a but uncomfortable but my partner slept like a baby.
