Beautiful location within a working farm

I arrived in the dark. From the main road you could miss the entrance. A lovely light shining on the Birtles Farm sign would be good!

Sharon was a lovely host, gave us some very good info on places to visit & places to eat nearby. Well appointed for Dunham Massey & Tatton, the Thornbridge Estate is also well worth a visit. It's a very old house with lots of original features but bright & very comfortable & homely. There is also a communal sitting room with TV & settees. Lovely breakfast in the morning, really set you up for the day. Stables in the courtyard outside & a lovely garden. It is a working farm but was very quiet. Even though it is quite close to the airport didn't really hear any planes.

Not a criticism but being a very old house there are some places where you need to watch your head but you soon get used to ducking in the right places.

Owners were very friendly, helpful, property itself is very nice 16th century working farm. Border collies, horses, nature. A good quality bed, I would say the best I ever slept and I travel alot. The ,duvet and pillows were made of duck feather and down, I checked the brand and was lucky to buy identical for myself on the way home😀The breakfast Sharon made was tasty, like at home, products very good, served nicely. Everything was clean, fresh and I am saying it as food safety professional(not often I am 100% happy about everything😀). Shower was good, TV with many channels if someone interested, tea, coffee etc in the room and in general nice and quiet. The location is good to reach Knutsford, not very far there is Ashley train staition with connections to Manchester,Chester,Knutsford, walkable distance from place to station if needed. I reccomend this place and hope to come back one day. Thank you very much

Peaceful location in a very old timber framed building but beautifully presented with lots of charm. The hosts were very friendly and accomodating who really couldn't have done enough for their guests. Nothing was too much trouble.

It's only a minor niggle and that was that the en-suite was quite small. I would have liked a bath as well as a shower but that's really down to me not making it a requirement of my booking. It was set out with everything you might need and again, being an old timber framed building it was very cute/quirky.

Such a charming and welcoming b&b, made our weekend away to attend a wedding at Colshaw Hall even more special. If you like historical buildings that are well maintained and remain quirky whilst providing comfort and modern facilities this is for you. Beautiful hosts and thoughtfully presented accomodation. Being next door to Tatton Park was a nice bonus. Perfect for us.

We found nothing to dislike...but the farm is set back from the road so you will need to negotiate a private track so go steady and respect the old cobbles and you will be fine! A bit of a contrast if you have just zoomed there along motorways!

We loved absolutely loved our stay at Birtles Farm Bed and Breakfast! My wife and I are from Canada and spent two weeks traveling all over England. Out of the 6 hotels that we stayed at during our trip, Birtles Farm B&B was definitely our favorite. Sharon and her husband were both extremely kind, generous, and accommodating. They cooked us an amazing full English breakfast in the morning, along with yogurt, cereal, granola, and various drinks. My wife and I are very serious amateur wildlife photographers, and the property was absolutely teeming with wildlife. In just one day, we saw four male pheasants, a fox, a pair of little owls, several hares, blue tits, long-tailed tits, and much more! There are also horses, cows, and chickens on the farm, which were lovely as well! The room was spacious and roomy, very clean, and had a wonderful view of the property and gardens. We flew in and out of Manchester Airport, and it was a perfect location with just a short trip to the airport after finishing breakfast. We felt so welcomed during our stay, and we will absolutely be returning for a longer stay the next time we are in England. I would recommend Birtles Farm Bed and Breakfast to absolutely everyone!

My one small comment is that I did not see anywhere on the Booking description specifying that the bathroom was shared. There was a sink and countertop in each room, but the shower and toilet were shared amongst guests. This is not a huge deal by any means as it was fairly clean and only shared by a few guests each night, but it would be good to explicitly state this on the description.

Our bedrom was roomy, overlooking the garden and fields. Everywhere was spotless, the bed was very comfortable and all we could have needed was provided. The cooked breakfast (served in the dining area on the ground floor) was delicious and a brilliant start to our days, and the landlady and landlord were friendly and accommodating. There was also a lounge for the guests as well as seating provided in the garden.

It was all fine. My personal preference is a dark room which the curtains did not fully provide, but that was a minor detail.

A most charming Farm B&B run by the loveliest couple. We can't thank them enough for looking after us so well and for being most accommodating. Birtles Farm is very pretty inside and out. Nothing has been overlooked with great attention to detail. Most comfortable and relaxing bedrooms looking out over the garden and farmland. Tucked away but only a short drive to Knutsford and other nearby towns and villages. And now to the breakfast! ... Best we've ever had. 2nd to none. Freshly cooked, best produce and served in a bright and cheery breakfast/dining room. We had the best stay. Our thanks again

An absolutely stunning little b&b, Sharon and her husband were so welcoming. It's so beautifully decorated, I had the twin room, it was lovely 😍 The mirror had blue tooth in the bathroom. Great little touch. And the beds were out of this world. I had to have a look to see where the pillows, duvet, and bedding were from. M&S, I should've known! I had the best nights sleep, it was so quiet, even though its a working farm, it was so silent at night. I have nothing but positive feelings after leaving Birtles Farm. I would highly recommend a stay there

Having to leave 🥰

Rooms were excellently prepared, clean and welcoming. The surroundings were well kept, despite being on a working farm. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts, and the breakfast that they prepared for us during our stay was delicious! Communication prior to arrival was spot on, and I was asked if I had a room preference as the lead booker (I booked all 3 rooms for a family stay) before I arrived. Great location in the Cheshire countryside for a nearby wedding venue and Manchester Airport is only a 10 minute drive. Would happily stay here again!
