2nd visit to Ash Farm Country House - stayed in the garden room, which is comfortably appointed, en suite, brilliant shower!! For those like us who face a very early flight out of Manchester Airport, then this wonderful location only some 7 miles from the airport is an absolute no brainer- it is beautifully kept, has amazing grounds, peaceful and secure location, perfect hosts - and a brilliant country pub nearby for dining and refreshments (breakfast is a booking option at Ash Farm for travellers departing 'normal' hours. Book with confidence - an absolute gem!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too short a stay!!

Quiet, country location but convenient for Manchester. The room was beautifully decorated, with luxurious fabrics, a four poster and antique furniture. The bathroom was very modern with a super shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Lovely touch of a small decanter of sherry and sherry glasses. So thoughtful. The room was wonderfully peaceful, parking great for my husband's precious car and location next to a pub so convenient for an evening meal. Lovely garden with seating available to use. However, the real highlight was breakfast - oh my goodness, it was wonderful. Christian is an amazing chef, food was divine, so beautifully presented and SO much choice! Considering he was alone whilst we stayed (owners on holiday), Christian was calm, polite, helpful and still produced food of an exceptional standard. We shall be back!

That we couldn't stay longer! Nothing to fault.

Classic Cheshire farmhouse with nice garden; access good with parking on site. Very easy stroll to a quiet pub with food, and a short walk over the River Bollin into Dunham Massey National Trust property. Comfortable drive to "Footballer Cheshire" smart towns & suburbs. Not far from Manchester airport but no disturbance from plane noise - or any other noise. Very peaceful location in a hamlet by the river. Breakfast very good with choices - nice muesli + bits; fruit and yog; proper black pudding and sausage, fried homemade bread etc etc if you want it.

Did the job really - no complaints. The ground floor bedroom might be a bit tight for two.

The overall experience from arrival, with the surrounds being delightful and calming. The room was lovely and the addition of complimentary sherry an unexpected very pleasant gesture. Breakfast was wonderful with a selection to please everyone. The only improvements I could suggest is to use the fancy coffee machine to offer more hot drink options.

The Weather...seriously I can't think of anything that is within the owners control that could be improved. We had a great stay and have already booked a return visit.

I honestly cannot fault the place. To get there, you best use postcode WA14 4SU - which is for the pub next door (Swan with Two Nicks). Some satnavs take you to the other side of the river if you use the actual postcode of the B&B, but this one led us straight to it. A warm welcome was given by David. We had booked what is known as the ground floor bedroom, or garden room. It is a lovely cozy room, with everything you could need or want. It has its own entrance (the little red door in pictures), and has a lovely view of the garden. The room does not have much floorspace - you can walk round the sides of the bed, and the chair behind the desk can be pulled out, but as my partner put it, 'We are not here to do cartwheels in our room.'. When we settled in it was lovely weather, and we just had the door open, daydreaming on the bed whilst looking into the garden, watching the birds and one of the Maine Coones wandering around. The hospitality tray was well stocked with various coffees and teas, two bottles of water, mint chocolates, and there was complimentary sherry too! Turns out we both like sherry! As the room is sort of built against the main house, there are no neighbouring rooms next or above, and it was lovely and quiet. The bed is very comfortable too. The lack of a bedside table on his side was solved by my partner by opening one of the wardrobe doors and using the bottom of that, or by pulling out the drawer under the wardrobe slightly. It has an en suite shower room with toiletries and big fluffy towels. The shower has a great power spray, and gets nice and hot. It was very clean. In the wardrobe were also two fluffy bathrobes l. Then it came to breakfast. You could stay there a week, and still not have tried all the options on the menu. It's not just 'Here's a plate with the usual.'. You can completely itemise your cooked breakfast with numerous options.

If I have to mention something, the shower cubicle could do with an upgrade. Maybe remove the tatty old electric heater from the room, as there is a working radiator. The following didn't bother us, as we're used to city sounds and living near busy traffic, but Manchester Airport is nearby, and planes do fly over the area frequently fairly 'low'. But we only really noticed if we tuned into it, it didn't bother us at all. But if you're not used to it, it might be really noticeable.

Location was quiet, shame we couldn't sit outside as the garden and veranda will be lovely in summertime. Inside was beautifully decorated, log fires were so welcoming. Our stay was just me and my party, it was very comfortable and we felt like it was being at a home from home. Service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming hosts. David was very attentive and nothing was too much to ask for, very accommodating. Breakfast was lovely and presented very well. Overall our stay was lovely, we felt welcome and very relaxed.

Ideally situated for lovely walks. Close to towns if you wanted this also. Comfortable room, lots of little extras (like the bathrobes & sherry) to enhance the stay. Quirky rooms, very traditionally decorated in keep with the property & area. Friendly owners. Amazing breakfast!!!! Relaxing garden with plenty of tables & chairs. Will definitely be returning.

Bit strange but ….. there were two pictures (one in the residents lounge & one in the breakfast room) that just made us feel a little uncomfortable. Might just be us?

Outstanding breakfast menu best we’ve ever come across.

The room, we were in the garden room and it was just too small. Had we been staying longer we would have been unhappy there but for one night it was ok. If we were to return which we would I would ask for a different room. Everything was clean, we were warm and slept well so I don’t want to be negative. We appreciated being able to leave our car whilst we returned to Dunham Massey on day two.

The room was very cosy and the view was lovely. The owners were very welcoming. Breakfast was a total treat, fresh bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, and other delicious products, lots of choice. A very quiet spot, close to the airport and Dunham-Massey house and park. Pub next door was ok, other places to eat close by too. Ideal for us before heading to Manchester City center for an exhibition, but would equally suit someone catching an early flight.

Nothing.

rural, tranquil setting, comfortable bed, good water pressure in the shower, adjustable temperature control in the bedroom, thoughtful touches in the fitting out of the bedroom eg a variety of good quality teas and a teapot, an iron stored alongside the hairdryer, complimentary sherry. Great to have the pub next door and to find that it’s guests leave quietly at closing time. I also loved having so many possibilities for walks straight from the hotel- NT property//riverside walk/canal walk.
