Good location in the centre of town with plenty of parking. The Rose & Crown is a lovely old inn and very cosy. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. It overlooked the high street so was a little noisy at times, but ok. The bed was comfortable, the pillows less so. The bathroom was small with nowhere to put toiletries (a shelf above the towel rail would have helped), but most things had been thought about and I would stay here again if in the area. It’s good value. Unfortunately we were there on one of the two nights they don’t serve food (Monday and Tuesday) so we didn’t get to sample the dinner menu (there is a nice restaurant just across the road), however breakfast was very good.

Just a bit of a squeeze in the bathroom

We stayed at the Rose and Crown for one night breaking our trip north to the Lakes District. It was convenient to get to from the M6. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The included breakfast was lovely and we also ate dinner there and were very pleased with our meals. We also liked the free onsite parking behind the pub. The pub really was charming and we loved the atmosphere. We wish we had more time to explore the town and the area.

Nothing not to like. Just keep in mind that there are no lifts and the stairs to the rooms are narrow and winding. I packed an overnight bag so we didn't need to carry our big suitcase up the stairs.

A lovely pub in the centre of a busy town with nice rooms above. Nicely decorated furnishings in the pub and bedroom. Nice extra touches, like tea/coffee, water and even a teapot. Loved the bathrobes provided. Friendly staff at check-in, breakfast and check-out. We ate dinner in a nearby restaurant, which was lovely, since there was no chef in the pub due to an emergency.

The shower control was too high to reach for me, but my husband managed it. Shower room needs an update and a deep clean, at least near floor level. Private car park unavailable Sundays (therefore overnight Saturdays unless you want to move it before 6am), but a free pass was provided to enable parking in a nearby public car park.

The staff were welcoming and delightful even though I arrived a little grumpy! I was given help with my luggage - taking it upstairs. I was given an excellent upgraded room. The tea/coffee included a teapot!!! and biscuits - everything you could wish for! Good variety at breakfast. Excellent parking. Plenty of places to eat out in the main street.

The rooms at the front were a little noisy - I live on a main road so didn't notice. Ask for a room at the back. There should be more warning of the lack of an evening meal on a Sunday night - not wait until you have booked and paid (but see above).

The cooked breakfast was very good: fresh, hot and plenty of good food. The staff were very welcoming and helped us to find our room and plan for our journey to a local wedding venue. The room was ok and the fan provided helped to keep it at a reasonable temperature.

The cold tap on the bathroom sink was difficult to turn on - turning the whole tap! The room was set out with one side of the bed against the wall which made it tricky. The room was very hot, caused by the heatwave weather, and the bed quilt was heavy. We took the quilt out and just used the cover.

Lovely friendly place to stay , young man on reception very pleasant and helpful. Room beautiful very comfy and clean . Very nice breakfast. Plenty of parking on site . Nice ambiance in the restaurant and bar .All staff seemed genuinely pleased to have guests , couldn’t do enough for us . Very pleased to find a quiet fan in the wardrobe which came in very useful as it was a very warm time of year

I am afraid we have been spoilt with power showers at home therefore an ordinary shower is always a disappointment.

The building has so much charm. it’s very old and so beautiful. our room was lovely and light, very nicely decorated and furnished. we loved it. we’re just sorry our stay was so short as we were attending a wedding, just checked in briefly in the afternoon and then returned about 1am. we would love to return and spend longer in the Rose and crown and have a look around knutsford. Also the breakfast was very good, very pleasant staff, I think it was Kieran who checked us in and he was very helpful. Ensured we had our keys and explained about the on-site parking!

nothing to dislike

Characterful old coaching inn with its own car park, very useful for the centre of Knutsford. We were given a warm welcome by Zara who was helpful with the parking instructions and got us settled in. There are many restaurants close by but we were glad opted to eat in. The restaurant had a spring menu with a good choice, the chicken pie was a particular highlight. We slept well and breakfast was excellent. Knutsford is a good option to stay as it is close to the M6 but still retains its own charm. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Breakfast - food and service were really good. The pub itself was also really nice with a good selection of beers, and all of the staff were really helpful and very friendly. Location was also excellent.

There were a number of steps outside and stairs inside to navigate, which was absolutely fine for me, but should probably be advertised better as the elderly or those requiring more accessibility may struggle. Or at least need to plan around it in some way.

lovely pub with fab food and staff. thoughtful gestures throughout our stay and staff where A+ Dog friendly and although a guy in the next room complained of our girl barking at 6 pm ( she got stuck behind the sofa), he didn’t mind when he was puking his guts up at 5 am and woke us up. Not everyone likes animals when u go to animal friendly establishments!!!

the stairs to and from the car park. accident waiting to happen. needs handrails/slippy steps etc. when ur carrying bags/suitcases/kids/dogs etc bear this in mind. 135£ a night a bit steep for a night but if u are filling the rooms then….
