Karen and Karl couldn’t have made us more welcome at their charming home. Upon arrival, Karl happily chatted and advised us of recommended places to dine. The property and our room were very well cared for with a very high standard of cleanliness. The proprietors truly care that your stay is comfortable which is evidenced by the great attention to detail eg the bathroom radiator on even though it wasn’t really necessary, all bedding perfectly ironed, bed was so comfortable, beverages and biscuits provided in the room. Karen served us a perfect breakfast. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay and would highly recommend Laburnum Cottage.

There is nothing negative. Karen and Karl are both highly committed to ensuring the success of their business and are a great team. Knutsford and the surrounding area is beautiful and the location of the property is close to the centre but allows you to feel you are in the countryside.

Really modern, clean and in a gorgeous location with very friendly relaxed owners. Plenty of private parking and has everything you could need including shower gel/shampoo/hair dryer/coffee and tea supplies. Breakfast was prompt and delicious, shower was great - a really lovely place!

Only thing I may add would be black out blinds as although the curtains were good quality, the room still got quite light at dawn. Could still hear the planes going over, but well insulated from the sound by double glazing. Could be more of an issue in hot weather with the window open, but a fan is provided.

The bed was extremely comfortable and large. We had everything we needed in our room. The breakfast was excellent and perfectly presented. The hosts are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We immediately felt at ease from the moment we arrived. It was like home from home.

It might have been helpful to have a small fridge in the room. And a wall mounted magnifying mirror in the bathroom would definitely help a woman applying make up. Would be the icing on the cake 😊

We were impressed on arrival by the well laid out small car park and the prompt attention of the proprietor on answering the door. He showed us up to a room which appeared to be newly refurbished but this was part of a wing of about 5 rooms which were all apparently of the same age. The room and bathroom were very clean. Next morning we came downstairs directly into a dining room which overlooked the front garden and enjoyed a beautiful cooked breakfast but not one that over faced us. Overall we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay.

We have nothing to say in this section as there was nothing that we did not like.

Lovely, friendly, welcoming hosts. Delicious cooked breakfast. Immaculate clean room and plenty of tea coffee and milk etc. Very handy for Wedding venue 10 minutes away so perfect for our overnight stay after attending friend's wedding

Shower had very low water pressure but water hot enough so that was fine. Room quite small so no space for a chair. Limited hanging facilities in our particular room if you're staying longer that one night but fine for a quick stop over. Wasn't really a problem for us and we really enjoyed our stop over

I arrived between 7:00 -8:00 pm. The hosts were very friendly on arrival and helped me with my belongings to the room. The room was spotless with water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate or mint chocolate available. Also a jug of fresh, chilled milk. Asked what time I would like breakfast and it was perfectly cooked. I'd love to stay there again. The bed was so, so, comfortable.

There was nothing not to like.

Amazing wee house. Lovely setting and the rooms were mega comfy with everything you need. The host was so nice and accommodating and loads of parking. Dead easy to find and about 20 mins from the airport or airport car parks.

Only that we had to leave too early to try the brekkie. The host did try his hardest to accommodate our early departure though but may have to return and try it one day 😋

Karen, and her husband, always referred to me by my first name which I particularly appreciated. The welcome was genuine. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean - something which is really important. The wifi worked well. The bathroom was ideal. The room size was standard for a single, but perfectly acceptable. The breakfast was great - I wouldn't say it was the best I'd ever had, but it was well cooked with plenty of it. There was parking and the guest house was easy to find. I was very happy and would return.

Two points: One very minor and one slightly more important - for me anyway. It would be good to include an extra knife for toast - a very petty point but something I'd have appreciated nonetheless. A slightly more important point - for me - was that, having breakfast alone, I'd have preferred to have had the door between the kitchen and the dining room shut. I could hear all the conversation and see much of what was happening in the kitchen and didn't really want to. Best to be left alone once breakfast has been served. I expect Karen will read this so want to tell you Karen that these are very minor points and, overall, I was very - very - impressed with Laburnum Cottage and would recommend it to anyone. An early check-in was accommodated which was helpful as I was attending a lunch time wedding and wanted to drop off my belongings beforehand. I had anticipated only leaving my bag and getting the key, but my room was completely ready for me on my arrival (hours prior to their usual check-in time) so I was able to head up and spend a few minutes there first. My room was clean and tidy, and came equipped with brew making facilities and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was well cooked, with a generous helping of tea and juice. In my email correspondence to the owners, leading up to my arrival, all my queries were answered including suggestions for local taxi companies.

Nothing major to complain about

FANTASTIC, loved everything, hearty cooked breakfast done to perfection, our room was fabulous, clean and a comfy sofa to rest our weary bodies and an even more comfier bed. We could not fault Karen the host - her hosting skills are superb. always remembered the guests names and made sure everything was alright for us. We must also remember her team of Karl and Mille who keep things running behind the scenes-the unsung hero too.
