We booked expecting a pretty basic pod room but actually the standard was better, more on a par with a standard hotel room. The lounge and kitchen area was truly exceptional - I was not expecting that so was pleasantly surprised.

The only negative is the area, it is slightly dodgy - if I was a woman alone I'd be a bit nervous about staying here to be honest. It was a hot night so we had to have the window open all night and the 'residents in the bus stop' were a noisy bunch. That said you are only a 20/25min walk from the centre/dock area and its a really good price so pros and cons.

Everything considered, if you're looking for accom that's just somewhere to get washed and sleep can't complain for the price. Room was immaculate and the common rooms are decent if you want to get out the room, but not ready to go out out. Staff were friendly.

The fire doors soft close hinge need adjusting. Didn't happen every time, but occasionally they'd slam. People staying there were mindful of the fact though so after 10pm you didn't hear it. The £100 damage hold was abit weird. First time I'd encountered it at a hostel, but cleared back in my account in a couple days of check out.

I know I booked breakfast but didn’t know where to find it. I didn’t ask either, so my fault.

The bed was solid, but the quilt was gorgeous. As I was on my own I was able to use the quilt as another layer. The behaviour of other guests who had no respect and were slamming doors until the early hours and shouting on the Saturday night. The fire doors could close a little quieter. I have no photos to share as this was not a holiday or a break for me, I was visiting a friend at the cancer centre, to say goodbye. It was all very sudden, so booked what I could afford. I was pleased with the room.

Nice rooms and provided everything you need to live for a few days there.

Boiling water machine was so loud and went off a lot during the nights and could be heard when in bed. We dropped something down the side of the bed and it was disgusting under there. Mouldy food, finger nails. Lay out of the bathroom was horrible, everything got wet including toilet paper and you step right out to the toilet which left no room for you. Smack heads all around the area, didn’t feel like a great location. Expect you to do dishes but left nothing to dry them with, which ended up with piles of dirty dishes laying around the kitchen from other guests.

The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful with anything we asked them. We arrived an hour before check-in started and they allowed us to stay in the common area watching TV with a cup of tea/coffee. The rooms are clean and very new. Rooms have smart TV. All good, highly recommended.

The neighbourhood wasn't ideal. Few drug addicts/drunk people. I did not feel unsafe but they are there. However, in less than 5 minutes you are in the city centre so it was not a big deal. Even though it says on the booking message after you book the room, keep in mind that the parking is first come first serve so you may not have a spot right the second you arrive. However, it looks like there are many streets around you can park your car in for free.

This is an amazing stay. The room was very clean, modern, warm and the bed was very soft, literally can’t ask for more than this. The hotel is having a very big kitchen area with a nice lounge. The girls from the reception were very lovely and helpful! The parking space is right next to the hotel, is quite big and a nice thing is that after midnight they close the gates. The centre is a 10 min walk which is very convenient. Very good value for the money. And they do hold a 100£ deposit when you arrive but yes they give the money back in a couple of working days.

We had to wait at the door a couple times because they lock the door when no one is at the reception. But I believe in the future they will sort this small thing.

Absolutely spotless, the lady at reception was very helpful throughout even helped us order pizza, called us a taxi, we needed an iron which got provided for us, bed was comfortable and cosy, bathroom was Immaculate, although the room was small it had all we needed and enough room for a quick change to go out, everything worked as it should, our car got locked up securley over night but if we should of needed it we could of got it also.

Upon arrival I did question our stay the surroundings of phoenix pods is awful, dirty, rubbish everywhere, which wasn't pleasant at all, but please don't be put off when walking through the doors of phoenix pods you soon forget about what's outside it just a shame because if you were to drive past looking for somewhere to stay you would keep driving

Bed was comfortable and it was in a good place for easy access into town. Having free parking was bonus especially for a major city and also a shop on site with all essentials

The fact the hotel was so new things had not been installed properly The toilet roll holder kept coming off the wall. The shelf above the bed was loose and not ideal to sit up in bed especially if you were tall. Also the toilet was not clean when we arrived. Could do with a toilet brush also And mugs rather than cups

Cheap, clean and rather neat inside hotel with a large bed. Really close proximity to city center is another advantage

rooms on the upper floor get really hot inside during the summer sunny days and you sweat a lot in bed at night, there is no air conditioning. The area of the hotel is rather dirty with plenty of litters and the sight of drug addicts is rather pretty common in there. They take a 100 pounds of deposit but they retur it after approx. 5 days if you do not trash the room.

Everything about the stay was brilliant. The staff were friendly and helpful when we needed assistance. The room was very clean, comfortable bed and clean bathroom.

I didn't like the fact that the rooms don't have air conditioning, and when it was very warm outside, the room was very warm. I had to keep the windows open during the night because it was so warm. Because the windows were open, a lot of noise could be heard from outside with traffic and people going past.
