• Decor of the room was nice • Clean and comfy • Glass water bottle was a nice touch • Toiletries were nice and smelt amazing • Honesty box of chargers was a good idea • Staff friendly and helpful at check in • Lighting made the room feel cosy • Central to tube • Value for money for a cheap base to explore London

• Rooms can get very hot but we stayed during a time where it was unusually hot for UK. A good fan was provided but after a hot day the room was sweltering and didn't cool quickly with a fan. As high temperatures seem to be becoming more frequent it might be an idea to invest in aircon as this was only downfall. • A mini fridge would have been a welcome addition

Staff were really lovely and helpful, The bar is really cool, good beers/cocktails and food delicious, and as guests we were given a 20% discount on the menu. The bed was comfortable and room very clean, included kettle/tea/coffee, fresh bottled water, hairdryer, fan, tv, lots of bedding and comfy cushions, nice spacious and clean ensuite bathroom. Good transport links,

Our double room was quite small, it had been adapted very well and thoughtfully, but it felt a bit cramped with the 2x of us and our luggage. The tv reception was a bit intermittent. The room was a little noisy when the bar was open (I think because we had all our windows open), but it was perfectly quiet once the bar was closed which was a relief.

Nice decor Really comfy bed Enough room to hang up clothes Friendly staff You get 20% off in the pub (we didn't realise this until second day though) Quiet road and you don't hear much noise from the room Less than 5 min walk to station Loads of shops and bars nearby

The temperature in the room was very hot and it was only 20c outside so I can't imagine what the room temp feels like when the weather is hotter, there is a good fan in the room but it was a bit too hot for us The room was a bit small Even though the decor was nice, the shower was a little grubby and could do with a deep clean and resealing but other than that we had a pleasant stay

I really enjoyed my stay at the Old Ship. On arrival I requested an upper floor room which was granted. I've stayed in pubs with rooms before and over the weekends they can be very noisy - but my room at the Old Ship was perfect - I heard nothing at all. The room was great - a full length mirror, plug points where you need them, a kettle with plenty of tea/coffee/milk and top-ups on request. Easy to use TV. It was spotlessly clean too and very well made up by the Housekeeper. Great shower. The area is very exciting and vibrant and very handily within a five minute walk of the Overground train station hub. I loved my stay - thank you so much!

The only thing that would have made my stay 100% enjoyable would have been an offer of help with my bag - as it was I managed but it was a little awkward up the narrow and winding staircase and I'm not getting any younger :-) (I was offered help with this on checkout by a different member of staff).

A great place to stay. Used it as a base to see a gig at Wembley. Room was comfortable but rather hot, they did offer a fan but it just circulated hot air. Could do with being able to open the windows properly. We enjoyed the pub hospitality, staff friendly and food tasty. Unfortunately we’re looking forward to breakfast the next day but were informed it was no longer available. That was a little disappointing. Limited transport links after a certain time in the evening meant our journey back to Hackney became quite problematic which wouldn’t have been the case if links with main tube lines were a possibility. Nevertheless, couldn’t fault the accommodation. Was it value for money?? I live in the North so London inflated prices probably mean yes!!

Nothing, hot weather and transport links are outside of anyone’s control!!

The location is excellent, very close to transport links and amenities but also tucked away. The beds were extremely comfortable with ample pillows. The sofa in the room was a surprise although not totally necessary it was a bonus. The bathroom was clean and perfectly fit for the job. I would suggest cleaning the shower head every now and then as limes ale build up meant the water sprayed in all different directions, some even horizontally. towels could also do with being larger, why do hotels always use small towels?? But really loved our stay here and looking forward to having another reason to come back. Food and drink was great too!! The 20% discount for hotel guest made it taste that much better 👌🏼

The floor was very creaky but I understand that can’t really be helped in an old building. and just the towels that I mentioned already.

Lovely pub downstairs with great food! Cute green room with a nice bed. The location is great if you’re planning on taking the tube a lot, we used it multiple times a day and could always depend on the overground from Hackney Central to take us anywhere we wanted to go. We could also take the bus to Shoreditch very easily.

There was no air conditioning (which we knew prior to booking) so it did get quite hot inside. However there was a surprisingly good fan that really helped!

We stayed here for an event locally. The location was ideal, very close to the overground station. The staff were very helpful. We had a snack in the pub - the service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious. The room was small but well appointed, and despite being above a pub in the middle of Hackney, we weren't bothered by any noise. The bed was a bit softer than I normally like, but this was a minor problem compared to the upsides of staying here.

The bed could have been a bit more comfortable for us, but this is personal taste, and wouldn't put me off staying here again.

What a lovely place. My room was so well laid out, and very attractively decorated. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The bar at the Old Ship Inn was lovely too, I had some great food there. The location was perfect too, right in the heart of Hackney, very close to public transport, shops and cafes. I really enjoyed staying there and will definitely return.

My bed was comfortable but it was quite easy to roll off the mattress which was somewhat sloping!

It was in easy access to my friends and family and on a good bus route to other venues. I like the fact that you could have a meal and a drink in the restaurant downstairs if wished, as well as tea/ coffee in the room. While not air-conditioned, the fan which was provided, worked out well.

There was some building work next door and some noise from the yard below my window, and I needed to pull down the blind to one window which did not have frosted glass for my privacy. There were a few squeaky floor boards. I couldn't easily adjust the water temperature in the shower, so had to settle for a bath instead.
