Location (view to the Tavistock park), nice lively athmosphere, restaurants, shops and sights in walking distance, comfortable room
Only two things: The Shackle check-in didn't work properly and I generally don't like the idea of anonymous check-in. Actually you make the client do the job of the reception. Fortunately it also works without Shackle. The breakfast buffet is rich but only from medium quality (no fresh bread, only toast bread and small croissants. The juices were of rather poor quality).

This hotel was absolutely fantastic the dated art deco was amazing to see , as they have tried to keep the original features but updated some areas, this is truly a fantastic hotel in a fantastic area of London, there are many public transport within a very short walk of the hotel, I enjoyed the park straight across the street feeding the wildlife , birds , squirrels , which were very friendly.
The only thing I didn't like was the fact that there is no air conditioning in the rooms and no extractor fan in the bathroom, it was like been in a sauna after been showered which isn't great for a hotel. But there was a fan in the room and the windows opened slightly reason been a security measure which is understandable, the fact the security services following me around wasn't the hotels fault, that was down to mi5, all because of me showing the public photographs the government didn't want showing ! But the real staff couldn't fault.

Central location with British Museum just a few minutes walk. Bus and tube stations are all very near. You can also walk to King's Cross if it is not too hot.
I do not like the request of early checkin. Up till now, I still do not know if the message is a scam. It seems a message and an email is coming from the hotel a day before check in, ask me to download an app and do early check in. The app seems to be an outside contractor and I cannot see any relation with the hotel. I did not do anything and checkin with the front desk. The whole process was very smooth. The room has no fridge inside. It is a bit difficult when I stay there with outside temperature up to 31°C!

This hotel is in Central London. The hotel was clean and there was staff at the front desk at all times. The hotel is only a few blocks from Euston Station where you can catch a train, a bus or a subway. There are a number of little restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. There are some tourist sites such as the British Museum that you can walk to. There is a button at the front desk to call a taxi which will arrive in five minutes. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The Wifi was a bit slow.

When you travel by plane to Heathrow Airport and want to be lodged in the centre but not amidst the turmoil of e.g. Covent Garden or Leicester Square, a location near Russell Square is ideal because the place is quiet, the centre is just a short walk away, and the Underground Piccadilly Line from Heathrow serves the Russell Square station. Breakfast OK (better now than a couple years before) but the room may get crowded on weekends.
Our bathroom was too small and had a number of defects that resulted in the floor being often wet, particularly if you take daily showers. Those defects included the spout of the tap that was too short and wetted the (beautiful) black granite table on which the wash basin was applied, and the glass protection of the shower area that was too short. We had to use toilet paper or a towel to keep the floor dry.

The location in Bloomsbury and close to King's Cross Station is ideal for me, and the prices are very reasonable for central London. The hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable, and the appearance much improved since redecoration and refurbishment (I last stayed there in 2019). I never have the breakfast so can't speak to that. WiFi and TV are fine. Lovers of literature should know that the hotel is built on the site of Virginia Woolf's old home in Tavistock Square, destroyed during the Blitz. And you can walk to the British Museum. Good for London Underground also.
I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay because there are no drawers for clothing storage and no proper wardrobe. Also no safe for valuables. Rooms are rather small. But other than that, the Tavistock is excellent value for money.

Art deco style. Walking distance to St Pancras train station and Strand. Nice and clean room. Good night sleep.
Bar menu. I ordered Ceasar chicken salad, my favourite, but it was not that at all. It was salad with spicy Tandoori chicken. I did complain but they did not understand why? ? Luckily they offered me halloumi in on another bowl. So I removed Tandoori chicken and replaced it with halloumi. I did tell them to change the name of their salad as it is currently misleading. Hope that is going to happen. No plug socket near the bed. We needed one for a medical reason.

This hotel was brilliant location 10 mins walk from King's Cross and Euston, 5mins walk from Russell Square tube. Bus stops right outside to Covent Garden. The staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for you. Supplied extra tea and coffee when needed. Rooms cleaned everyday. Breakfast was good, good variety of food and drink, busy at times, but again a member of staff found us a table and cleaned it for our use. The restaurant is an Indian at night time and the food was delicious . You can also get bar meals reasonably priced. Room a bit dated but didn't bother us, bar and restaurant area lovely and comfortable. All in all we had an excellent stay and would definitely return to this hotel.

Really good "all you can eat" breakfast with a wide selection of items, both hot and cold. A relatively short walk from a number of stations - Euston & St Pancras mainline and Goodge St & Russell Square tube (both only a couple of stops from theatre land of Leicester Square and Covent Garden). Front of hotel has view of the green space of Tavistock Square. Friendly staff.
Those with restricted mobility might wish to request a room nearer the lifts as some rooms are quite a walk. Walls in rooms and bedroom corridors rooms could have done with pictures to brighten them up.

The breakfast was really good:- delicious, varied, good quality items well prepared. The room and beds were comfortable and it was pleasing to have You Tube on the television. It was good to have a friendly bar downstairs with comfy chairs and a peaceful ambience. I would particularly recommend the delicious ice cream available in the bar. All in all it made for a very comfortable and convenient stay. The service at beakfast and in the bar was exemplary - friendly and efficient. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
We had a twin room. I would have liked two hand towels. I would also have liked at least one chair as well as the stool as I find it very difficult to watch televiion sitting up on the bed. However these are very small deficiences and did not really detract from a very pleasant stay.
