Spacious room and equally spacious bathroom! Large comfy bed. Bath (as requested) and separate walk-in shower. Decent sized mirrors. Good communication prior to stay and info card on arrival. Although early check-in was not possible, luggage was safely stored in a cloakroom. Provision of earplugs. Close to station and shops.
Unclear where to check-in. Signage could be better/clearer when going through dark solid doors that all look the same. If there was a mini fridge in the room we couldn't work out how to open it. Shower didn't seem to want to shut off properly.

The room decor, comfy bed, lovely bathroom, tea and coffee facilities, fridge. Fluffy towels. The smell of cleaning products - not many places actually smell clean these days and it was nice to actually smell that a room had been refreshed. Ear plugs a godsend
Not being able to have two keys - I was out meeting friends and needed the key to access the stairs but my other half was in the room so he had to come down and meet me. I guess it's added security but if two people staying in a room it would be good to have two keys like you normally get two key cards in a hotel.

The pub/bar area was beautiful! Food was amazing as well and even bonus that we ate on a Tuesday where it was 50% off, the room was absolutely beautiful and was so comfortable, we also went for a walk in the evening and came across the ball room [I think it’s called] where there was live music and lots of people dancing! It gave me goosebumps and was beautiful to watch! We couldn’t even hear the music from our bedroom so it never disturbed us at all! Also the staff stored our suitcase for us before we could check in which gave us an extra day of exploring as otherwise we would have just waited somewhere until check in at 3pm!
The room wasn’t the cleanest in some areas but didn’t affect our stay, just the radiator in the bathroom was really dusty and there was toothpaste down the tiles next to the sink.

Great venue, with lovely rooms. Everything was very clean and the bed was large and comfortable. Good quality tea/coffee provided, plus a mini fridge and a safe. Staff were polite and welcoming. Pub/hotel had circus/show-themed decor, which was great. Property is close to underground station/rail station and there are restaurants and other pubs within a close walk. Despite this, the room is quiet and you can’t hear much external noise .
The property was excellent and I’d definitely stay there again, however it isn’t fully suitable for anyone wanting to visit central London and have a tourist experience, as it is in Underground Zone3 and takes a while to get to the city centre. This makes it more expensive to keep travelling back & forwards on public transport too. Also, there is a lift to all floors, HOWEVER the lift does not operate when the main pub is closed (both at night and in a morning), which does mean that there are steep stairs to return to rooms or to leave the premises. No breakfast/brunch available during the week is a downside, but there are plenty of other food places available in a close proximity to the property.

Loved the room, comfortable and beautiful decor in bedroom and bathroom. Staff were all very helpful and super friendly, and I enjoyed the Live music also, even after just returning from Glastonbury festival. Tuesdays half price meal was a bonus too.
The bed was hard for me,but maybe not for others, and some net curtains would be a good idea, as the commuters on the station platform could look right into the room. The glass doors outside the gell bedrooms were banging each time someone entered, but did quieten down later.

It was clean , it had its own charisma, the location was fantastic , whilst being next to a railway line the double glazing of windows and insulation is more than acceptable and offered great value for money , the fact you can get a 30% discount off your food whilst staying their I think is an added bonus people may overlook, although we were told , so take advantage of this !
The elevator stopped a floor short to our room and we had to carry our luggage up one floor , but that was not that bad

Such a cool hotel! The rooms a really big, wasn't expecting that considering the normal London size. Particularly enjoyed the gorgeous bath in the room. Location was great too, nice area with plenty of shops. Also right next to the train station so even though you're out of central London, it's very easy to get transport. The live music and bar downstairs was also such fun. I would happily recommend this to anyone and will definitely be telling friends and family to stay there :)

I used to live up the road from this pub before it was a hotel and it was never particularly nice and not somewhere I would be excited to go to. What a transformation! The pub itself is gorgeous and the hotel rooms to match. However it isn't one of those typical refurbs where they loose their soul. It has plenty of atmosphere and still kept the theatre and comedy aspect which is part of the pubs history. What a unique and gorgeous place. On top of that a very nice stay with a ridiculously comfortable bed, fluffy towels, lovely shower and products. We had a great time and didn't want to leave.
It was a bit cold in the room but hugely appreciate it's an old building and it was -5 that day! An extra heater was in our room without us having to ask so that was nice. Otherwise, perfect.

This place really exceeded my expectations. I had been hunting for a good value place to stay in London prior to an early start for medical reasons. The location was a few minutes from the tube in Balham, it’s hard to get lost trying to find it, if your happy travelling slightly more this is a very good location. The staff were really friendly, I was a initially put off that I was going to be above a pub but the room is a few floors up and could honestly hear nothing from the pub. The room really blew me away, this place was more than half the price of most of the “central” places I looked at and having stayed a number of places this room was 100 times nicer. Quirky, cosy and clean with excellent facilities, an extremely cosy bed with hard and soft pillows. A massive and lovely bathroom with plenty of toiletries etc. and a window seat where you can just peak the city over the tops of the buildings. I’m just sad I couldn’t have a lie in and enjoy the place a bit longer. Will definitely be staying here in the future.

I love that the staff are friendly. I love the decor of the room and the location.
I did not like that it was not as clean as it should of been. There was skid marks in the toilet when we arrived. A dried substance was on the bed blanket. Hair strands on the bed, bed side table and in the bathroom by the sink. Also some of the teabag packets were either opened or partially ripped. Lastly a lot of the tv channels was not working.
