Jane is an incredible host! She loves to get to know her guests and make sight-seeing recommendations based on her guests’ interests. She was so warm and welcoming upon arrival, making it incredibly hard to leave. My friend and I felt so comfortable and at home in such a clean, comfortable and friendly environment. Jane also taught my friend and I how to use London’s train system, which saved us a lot of time and money when trying to check everything off our daily itineraries. Be sure to grab breakfast from Jane as well, we loved her French toast! The Lilac Door is located near a few cafes which really gives you the local London experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Next time I’m in London, I will definitely be booking with Jane! I loved everything about the Lilac Door. I will absolutely be staying here again. Jane is a lovely host and is welcoming to all walks of life. She was so excited for us to experience London and gave us plenty of recommendations for the younger crowd and for those who like true crime/horror!

I had an amazing experience staying at Jane and Keith's hotel, which is their beautiful home. The location is perfect, with easy access to transportation and situated in a calm residential area. Services and places to eat are nearby. Jane and Keith's hospitality and attention to detail were exceptional, making me feel at home. The rooms were elegant and comfortable. I highly recommend their unique and welcoming home for an unforgettable stay.

If you’re a tall man like me (6.1 ft) try to avoid the rooms at the top floor that have a sloping ceiling and you have to be constantly careful not to hit your head.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful bed and breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets very clean and smooth. We slept very well:) We could open a few windows so that fresh air could come inside the room. And it was quiet in the night. The bathroom was also very clean and nice with a large window. The distance to the centre of London was close, around 5 minutes walk to train and then 15 minutes to victoria. The air quality in this neighbourhood is definitely better than London city. The host/ Jane was very friendly and kind and gave us tips for nice restaurants in the area and info about london. There is also some organic tea and coffee in the room and cookies. We will come back here for sure!

This is a very good quality B and B ( available as room only if preferred) in the lovely area of Dulwich with restaurants, cafes, entertainment and a park also nearby in Herne Hill and Brixton. Very close to central London. A warm welcome from lovely lady, Jane with tea, coffee, biscuits and water in the room. The spacious loft bedroom and shower room were modern, well- equipped and very comfortable. A super stay , would stay again !

It's a beautiful house in a beautiful neighborhood. It's very close to West Dulwich station and then it takes like 20 min to Victoria station. The host is a lovely lady. She is very kind and helpful.

If you are searching a B & B that is fitted out with quality and style, spotlessly clean, value breakfast, and managed by an efficient and charming host, look no further. This is it. If your business is in Dulwich, ideal, and central London is only a 15 minute ride on the overground train . We preferred to catch the train rather than be in central London with inferior and more expensive accommodation. Highly recommend. DYOR

Just stayed the one night and it was perfect. Jane was so welcoming and friendly. The house was inviting and my room on the top floor was very modern and comfortable. Lots of facilities in the room too. I will definitely stay again and hopefully I will have the breakfast next time as I missed out this occasion. Great location and 5 mins from W Dulwich station. Highly recommended.

Jane, the host, was exceptional, she made the trip extremely memorable for us. You could see that she truly cared wholeheartedly about all guests at The Lilac Door, taking keen interest in us as people, our plans, our wellbeing; I felt very welcomed and more importantly, I felt SAFE. I would highly recommend this B&B for this, especially for solo travellers or whoever wants a warm bed with a warmer welcome. We were there to watch Twenty One Pilots at Brixton O2. Jane asked about them, and hadn't heard of them before. We left for the day, and the next morning, Jane said she'd gone to listen to them! This warmed our hearts so much, again showing just how much Jane connects with her guests. I don't think I will ever stay in a faceless hotel when I visit London ever again. Room was amazing, clean and beautiful, full of goodies upon arrival.

Our host Jane was so friendly and personable. Also she was so helpful when trying to find the best mode of travel to various venues. The property was very clean, beds comfortable and all that you would need when staying in London.

The house was immaculate and comfortable. Everything was well thought out in terms of comfort, including a hot water bottle, guide books and extra biscuits and mineral water. Jane was exceptionally friendly and helpful and in fact went over and above to help us with lifts and travel information at a very difficult time for us. The breakfast was excellent with all the food freshly prepared and tasty. Great coffee! Thank you Jane.
