This guesthouse is brilliantly situated in the centre of Oxford about a 10 minute walk from the station. It's set slightly back from the main street in a little courtyard. As you go in there is an ice cream shop to your left, a great coffee house opposite and the covered market entrance next to that. Lots of places to eat very, very close. You are about 2 minutes away from a "Boots" which is useful if, like me, you forgot half your stuff! Being in the courtyard, you feel away from all the hustle and bustle, but close to what you might need-perfect. My room was on the top floor labelled Flat 4, and there were 2 short flights of stairs. Security to Flat 4 was good. There appeared to be 2 rooms on my floor seperated by quite a large kitchen area with cooking facilities, fridge, table and the rest, and a seating area too. This was all really well thought out and very clean. The rooms being seperated by the kitchen meant that there was no noise problem from other residents. The shared bathroom was clean and close by. The room itself was a decent size with plenty of drawer space and some room to hang clothes. The comfy chairs in the room were gold and made me feel like a Queen! There was a TV and tea and coffee facilities . No milk though, which may have been an oversight. The bed was REALLY comfortable and I found it perfect for a really good night's sleep. I would happily stay there again. It's a good place to know about.

The only possible thing I could mention is there not being milk for the tea/coffee. That's it. Otherwise a perfect place.

This is a 300 yr old building in a very central location of Oxford, in the same quarter as and connected to the Covered Market, in an inner courtyard you enter from Cornmarket Street. A very interesting experience - no floor is quite horizontal, everything is a bit uneven. The place is simple and a bit worn out (but still clean), but very comfortable. The host is very friendly and flexible about check-in times (I arrived late). There is a large shared kitchen (at least on the top floor) with a dining table and a coach. The WC/shower are shared as well, but since they are only shared by two (or three?) rooms, this is no big deal at all. Cooking should be possible, there is an induction stove top, but apparently because of some newer fire regulations, it cannot be used.

This is a fantastic deal in the heart of Oxford, you can't do better than this for this price. We found our rooms to be clean and it all felt quite roomy with the additional kitchen space. Sharing a bathroom with other guests probably keeps the price down, and it worked fine for us. Windows worked well for some ventilation, and it was surprisingly quiet on a Friday night. That's because your in an enclosed square that's locked at night (we got the keys to get in/out). We used the kitchen to make a simple breakfast, and coffee/tea was available, as well as a fridge.

Since there is only a (very nice) clearning person briefly around to do the rooms, it was a tad difficult to get our bags from the luggage service to arrive at the right time. But that's a very specific problem, and in the end we were able to work it out. Carpet on the ground floor is a bit shabby, but that does not apply to where we stayed one floor up. Kitchen (see above) is great for small things but you apparently can't cook there.

Ideally placed just off a main shopping street and next to the covered market. The room had a bathroom and kitchen shared with just one other room but was well laid out. Nice hot shower and good kitchen facilities. Being situated in a small yard complex it’s lovely and quiet at night. Efficient heating too!

The entrance is difficult to find and not well labelled but I was met outside. Stairs are quite steep and the floors are uneven as it is a listed building but that adds to its charm. Nothing swish but perfectly comfortable for a great price.

Tina’s communication was very timely, and she made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. An issue we had was properly and quickly resolved, and the location is nothing like you will ever find for the price. Very cozy, historical building that leans a little due to the years but it adds to the charm (very safe, by the way).

Due to fire regulations by the city, the kitchen cannot be used. This is a historical building, so the ordinance is to prevent it from burning down. Nothing the property can do about it, but is noted upon arrival.

It's hard to imagine a better location for a trip to Oxford. The street in front is closed to traffic and you are steps from Oxford University and many of the landmarks and monuments of Oxford. Even though you are on the main drag, you are in a private alley so there's very little noise after hours.

This is an older guesthouse up a couple of flights and the pitch of the stairs can be a bit much if you are older or have knee issues. The rooms and bathroom are not super fresh, but they are clean and serviceable and the housekeeper is lovely and helpful. Regulations prevent guests from using the oven, but there is a microwave and kettles and a fridge and freezer so you can eat in the rooms and not pay to eat out.

Good location in the middle of the center of town, bit of a search in the beginning to find the entry gate. Very pleasant contact with both ladies, on the telephone and when receiving the key. Snug familyhome feeling in the guesthouse/ room.

Due to safety reasons not the ability to cook in the guesthouse, but a vast amount of shops, tearooms and restaurants in the direct vicinity to have breakfast, lunch and diner.

I liked being in a quiet precinct but right off the main shopping area and fairly close to the station. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and a good size and on a cold rainy day the hot radiator kept the room cosy. There was a shared kitchen with the room on the same floor which was nice to relax at the table and chat with the other guests. A coffee shop with great tasting coffee opposite.

I arrived late afternoon and forgot my phone so a slight panic to gain access as no receptionist - a quick email to Tina and within 15 mins the housekeeper kindly let me in and showed me around - while I was waiting the coffee shop was closing soon so they gave me some pastries for free which was a welcome bonus.

The location was excellent, right in the centre of everything. It was amazing to stay in a building 300 years old. The accommodation was very spacious. The bed was a good size and comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size and clean. We didn't use the kitchen really, but it had everything you would need.

I would suggest that you wear slippers in the kitchen, I wasn't prepared for the condition of the very old wooden floor, so even though the floor has been coated sometime ago, it is not good to walk on barefoot.

Tina in charge of the guest house was really nice with us and help us with our luggage in order for us to visit a lot of thing the day of our arrival and also the day of our departure! Location is perfect, size of the floor available next the rooms is big and allow use to us the kitchen for breakfast and diner. Perfect ti visit Oxford, Blenheim and Highclere for example.
