This hotel had a breakfast that was included in the stay. When we checked in, they showed us the breakfast options and asked what we wanted so they could be prepared with it in the morning and that breakfast was served at 7:30 AM. The room was very spacious and decorated nicely. The beds were comfortable. We did have to share a hallway bathroom, but we never encountered anyone else during our stay that needed to use it.

When we came down for breakfast at 7:30 AM they informed us that the breakfast we chose wouldn't be available until 8 AM. This delayed the start we wanted to make to our day, but we managed it.

- Clean and perfect location for easy access to Headington and City Centre. - Very comfortable beds and pillows. - There was an issue with the doors on the first day, but it was quickly resolved once brought to the staff's attention.

- We didn't expect one bedroom to have a separate, common bathroom that we shared with other guests (we then checked that it was actually written in the booking, but it's best to read carefully). - We were unable to open the windows. - The furniture was a bit old, but this is not uncommon for guest houses.

Excellent breakfast - very generous and cooked very nicely. The dining area and garden in general were lovely. The room (twin) suited us well - slept very well and I appreciate the sink in the room. The shared bathroom was also good with a spare loo that is separate, although the shower could do with a little maintenance or upgrade. Very clean though. The same can be said for the room - it was a little tired in places, including a hole in the single pane glass window that might need patching up (broken glass on the sill) as I imagine this is a bit cold in the winter. The walls could also do with a paint as there are quite a few marks. But generally very nice and so pleased we booked this over a hostel. It was great it was only 10-15 minutes on a bus from the centre, and buses ran regularly every 10-15 minutes or so (24 hour ticket meant this only cost us £4.50 or so).

The breakfast was lovely, the staff were really friendly. We were told all we needed to know on arrival, and felt able to ask for anything extra we needed or wanted to know. Made to feel like we were at home and very welcomed. There were extra pillows in the wardrobe which is always handy, and plenty of tea and coffee in the room, as well as a couple of packs of biscuits. The complimentary toiletries were a lovely touch. There was an info book which had recommendations of places to eat. I also liked that the WiFi password was in a little photo frame next to the bed.

The bed was a bit too squishy, and feel as though the mattress could be replaced, but that could also be down to our personal preference. I prefer a softer one and my Husband prefers firmer, but it was too squishy, even for me.

The room was a good size for one person and had all amenities as described on the website. The room was clean and had enough space to store my luggage for the night. It was great for a short stay. I didn't have breakfast because I was leaving early the next day, but from what I saw there was a very wide selection of food available. The staff were helpful and friendly when I checked in and described everything very clearly. The location was okay for me because I was visiting friends outside of the city centre. Though, if you're doing business in the centre of Oxford bear in mind that it's going to be about a 10 to 15-minute bus journey to get into the centre of the city.

If you get a room facing the road sometimes the sound of the traffic can get a little loud. There can sometimes be a lot of noise from the water systems of the house as well, so I'd recommend that you bring some noise-cancelling earphones like I did to ensure you can sleep okay.

It was a 5 minute walk the John Radcliffe hospital, and on the main high street for access to restaurants and shops. The owners/ staff were supper friendly and helpful. I would stay there again for that reason alone! When I told them that I would like to have a cooked breakfast to take to my Mum because she had been admitted to the hospital for so long and wasn’t eating, they gave me one free of charge!

As a solo traveler the bathroom was not connected to the room but a shared facility. It was no issue because I knew in advance, and didn’t see anyone else use it.

It would be so very hard to find a guest house that provides a warmer welcome than Pickwicks Guest House. My daughter and I had a wonderful stay. The food was delicious, the room was pretty, comfortable and spotlessly clean and the location perfect for Oxford Brookes University and the City. Just up the road were some lovely restaurants and being on a regular bus route, we were able to leave the car at Pickwicks and travel around Oxford as we pleased. The team at Pickwicks were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else in Oxford in the future!

Absolutely nothing which speaks volumes!!

Spacious and nicely decorated room. All the amenities (extra blankets, pillows, etc). Very nice shower, bed, sitting area. Beautiful dining room and excellent breakfast. Location wasn't perfect from a walking perspective, but it was right on the bus line, so it turned out fine.

Nothing that you could control (would be nice if it was within walking distance of train, downtown, etc, but that can't be changed and it is right on the bus line. Would probably be nice if the bus information was provided by default (without us having to ask).

Generally clean and a warm welcome pleased. Staff is more than helpful on any questions got full answers. Heating worked perfectly. Relaxed atmosphere and restaurant service. Safe parking and pleasant garden view. Close to restaurants, shops and Oxford.

Ripped material on both bed frames, possible outdated. Light mould in shower silicone. Stool under the table is flimsy, scarred to sit. Maybe leave few napkins on the tea tray. Old cord and fair alarm on ceiling looked not nively but it is acceptable for living and safe as much as possible.

We came to Oxford to go to a carol service at the cathedral. Our one night stay was comfortable and convenient. The staff were polite and helpful and breakfast was good. We would have been happy to stay longer in different circumstances Our room, with balcony, overlooked an attractive garden which could have been a bonus in the summer

It would have been helpful to have had a copy of the excellent bus service and a city centre street map in the room We had a superior room, but, although the bathroom was clean and the water hot and plentiful, it was a little tired, definitely in need of some upgrading
