The rooms were, bright, airy and very clean. Good size and lovely comfortable beds. Staff were super friendly and helpful, bringing Ice and glasses to our room, and the location was excellent.

It seemed there was probably an issue with staff for breakfast as it took a very extended time for our food to appear- even the second day when it was not so busy. Staff were apologetic and very nice, but this, along with several items on the menu not being available, did bring the overall quality of service down which is a great shame as we did enjoy our time here.

The room we had was cosy, bed comfy and clean. The location was central.

The breakfast in the attached cafe/bar was not good and expensive. Thus we only went there on the first morning

I enjoyed my one day stay in the Royal Oxford Hotel, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and I liked the atmosphere in the historical building. The room was comfortable and clean.

That one could not open the window was a bit of a draw back, and that there was no lift demanded an extra effort on my. part in handling the stairs - being handicapped after a knee operation. The fittings in the shower were a mystery, one had to read the instructions to be able to understand how they operated, but this happened also in another hotel in which I was staying

Not only right on train station doorstep but also main bus station not only around oxford but outer areas, Blenheim, Woodstock etc. 10-15walk to old & new sites to see, great shopping areas with rooftop restaurants. Within walking distance. Hotel allowed you to leave luggage on arrival/departure, gave me more time to achieve personal goals. Dealt with room problem quickly & efficiently, got someone in to deal with it. Under hotel Sainsbury's express & cafe bar which did breakfasts. Lovely fitted bathroom. Staff approachable, friendly & helpful. Quiet at night.

Small reception area. No lounge/bar area, not a problem for me. Noise only became a problem in morning with traffic . Can't be helped, windows old due to age of hotel, secondary glazing in all fairness fitted. Unfortunately didn't appear to be a lift but staff offered to carry case to room. Positives far outweighed negatives. Had to remember to lock room door when going out

Large room with good firm bed and plenty of easy chairs. Nice looking bathroom, again of good size . Coffee and tea tray was replenished. Staff were friendly. Good recommendations for local restaurants, we enjoyed Bangkok House very much

The shower was difficult to alter (but once we got it to the correct temperature it remained there) The shower leaked onto the bath mat, despite it being sodden it was not changed Breakfast was taken in the attached cafe, however this was advertised as being £9.99 with orange juice, but in reality it was more expensive and no orange juice.

The hotel was only a short walk from the bus terminal, train station and the main street of Oxford. There was a cafe and supermarket within the hotel complex, and a number of bars and restaurants close by. It was also close to the indoor markets - a great place to spend time - and the myriad of beautiful university buiuldings. While the hotel is quite an old building, it was well maintained and comfortable. As a mature couple, having a room on the second floor in a building without a lift can be a challenge, however, thanks to William, who carried our luggage up the stairs, this was not the case here.

The friendliest, helpful and patient check-in. Baggage storage before check-in and after check-out not a problem. On return to the hotel, our bags were in our room. Real service! Our family room was large, with a proper bed (not a camp bed or sofabed) for the 3rd person. Two seater lounge. Large bathroom with a good shower and quality towels. Housekeeping staff offered to carry our bags downstairs. Breakfast, available in the adjoining cafe, was pretty good 👍. Overall, The Royal Oxford is a well run and well managed hotel. What it does, it does very well. As you'll see from Google Maps, the hotel is handily placed between the railway station and Gloucester Green bus station (it took this old fella less than 10 minutes hauling a 21kg bag).

Nothing.

So bedroom was very clean comfortable beds and very good tv. With all channels like Netflix prime and Disney besides normal TV channels

Staff could not do enough for you and café next do did lovely breakfast and very nice welcoming smile could not do enough for you either . But saying that the shower in our room was not working with trickle of water and hard to do temperature of water also the door to shower fell off but I managed to put it back ,!Also thought it be nice to have some kind of facilities in room as they haven’t got a bar downstairs so that you don’t have to go out if you don’t want to
