Room was delightfully decorated . Clean and tidy. Ensuite was excellent. Staff and owner were accommodating and very friendly always happy and joking . Breakfast was excellent value and very tasty. Location is perfect for me. Family business vibe.

Futon bed was most uncomfortable . Headboard on double bed was not fixed to the bed or wall and bashed against the wall every time I moved waking me up. Was expensive compared to other hotels however happy to pay for location, was most convenient .

This hotel is a classic Victorian building, which currently has an Italian restaurant on the ground floor. Our room (7) was large and spacious, if a little "faded" and with rather old-fashioned furniture - but I was assured the hotel is currently gradually being refurbished. The double bed had a very comfortable mattress, but for us was a little small - we really have to book king-size at minimum, especially when the weather is hot. Again, we were told that there will be king-sized beds following refurbishment, and to ask for one next time. Breakfast - and additional £10 each - was delicious and cooked to order. The location is excellent for Penarth Railway Station, and a short walk downhill along the path beside the hotel to get to the pier.

Given the ample size of our room, the bathroom was very cramped. Everything worked OK, but there was very little wriggle room. Note also that there is no designated parking. This isn't a criticism as such, more for information There's a 2 hour space directly outside, but you have to park a little bit up the road if you want to leave your car any length of time during the day.

Location was good. Meal was good.

Sone of the staff were not very pleasant. Ignored when tried to pay for meal. Room shabby. TV didn't work properly. Shower was lukewarm at best andd I know it's a little thi g but very minimal tea/coffee (one each) no biscuits

The rooms were indeed not close together but the actual distance between them proved to be no problem at all. The location of the hotel next to the path down to Alexandra Park and the beach was perfect.

The shower in the room we had on the top floor (Rm 21?) had an electrical junction box situated where water from the shower could easily hit it. And the design of the shower glass practically guaranteed that water from the shower would coat the bathroom floor. Genuinely feared for my life when, while taking a shower, I finally noticed this 🙃

Room - solo room with water heater free coffee/ tea, milk, room with TV, heater, towel, and toiletries and hanger. Room/bed is very cozy Location - with train and bus stop that is 1-2 minutes away. Neighborhood - very peaceful and quiet. A good location to rest after a long day outside.

Price - a little pricey for one night, but it matches everything you got.

The hotel was just steps away from the train station, downtown and the beach. The restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. My room was very clean and quiet...the price, convenience and restaurant were all A+.

Host was excellent, very kind and friendly! Great value for money. Room had everything we needed (including a quiet fan, much appreciated in the heatwave!) Breakfast was very good, quick and friendly service. The dining room area was spacious with fab decor!

Shower could be better, but perfectly functional.

Comfortable rooms with good facilities. Lovely breakfast. Good location for visiting the local area. The restaurant is excellent.

Beautiful historic building, family run so a really nice vibe with the staff, and sensational food.

Its quaintness served it's purpose. There's so much more going for it, than any modern inconveniences it may have.

I had a single room which May have affected my appreciation. my room was nothing like the one advertised on the site. facilities were clean but dated and in need of refurbishment
