Loved my stay here. Warm welcome upon arrival. Breakfast had a good variety. The evening meal were exceptionally good too. Quiet location situated in a very small hamlet. Our bright and modern accommodation was away from the pub and exceptionally clean, overlooking a garden. My husband was on a nostalgic trip to the Horseshoe Inn because he was camping in the same garden in the 70’s whilst hangliding at the Hole of Horcum. Levisham railway station is a short drive away for a great day trip.

A noisy fan in the bathroom, but once we have found the switch to turn it off that resolved the problem.

Having stayed here numerous times the inn never disappoints. Accommodation is excellent, spotlessly clean and the food at both breakfast and evening meal also excellent; portion size is huge. Beer selection is good and kept well. All the staff are very friendly and it really feels like home.

It is difficult to criticise somewhere so good but a couple of points from our stay; whilst the provision of coffee/tea and biscuits in the rooms is very good, it would be nice if two bottles of water were also provided (the cost would be minimal and most accommodation does provide water now). Secondly, my wife and I love dogs and appreciate that people like to bring their dogs on holiday with them. We also appreciate that pubs like The Horseshoe Inn like to advertise the fact that they are 'dog friendly' but I don't think that dogs should be allowed in the eating area as some dogs can be very 'smelly' (flatulence) which is very off-putting and indeed nauseating when you are eating a meal and can't move away from the smell. This happened twice during our stay.

Everything .. especially the beautiful location. We would return in a "Heartbeat" :-) should we find ourselves up in that part of Yorkshire again.

This is a beautiful gastropub with high quality accommodation. We stayed in a room with a small, private garden and it was all very well presented. The staff members were all helpful, professional and happy to have a chat with guests. The food was great and locally-sourced where possible. The Horseshoe is a fantastic base from which to explore this part of Yorkshire.

We had only two minor quibbles. The Horseshoe is genuinely 'in the middle of nowhere', and with some roadworks on the access road getting to it was a challenge. Secondly, wonderful food but with portion sizes that were too large (I can't believe that I am writing this!).

We had a wonderful stay at the Horseshoe. The hosts are superb and have an amazing team. The accommodation in the Showfield is beautiful and very well appointed. Breakfasts and the evening meal we had were absolutely delicious. We were made to feel very welcome and we highly recommend staying there. The location is very good for exploring the area. Levisham is a very pretty, peaceful village.

The location is beautiful, the accommodation was excellent in this price range, breakfast was cooked and served to perfection. The owner and the staff from the cleaner to the bar staff were extremely helpful and cheery. we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. There is a good selection of evening meals beautifully prepared and fresh, however beware the portions are very generous so we never made the sweet course. There are a good selection of drinks on offer including wines, beers, spirits soft drinks, tea and coffee all served served at the bar with or without your meals.

Not a criticism, however would feel more comfortable if the front door (room 17) had the glass obscured to preserve dignity when leaving the bathroom. The room is not overlooked, however there is a chance someone may be passing fortunately the bath towels are large :)

The location of the property was lovely and within east access of surrounding areas by car. We stayed in the garden room and the setting was peaceful and the room was comfortable. All staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We also had breakfast included and ate at the pub a couple of evenings too. The food was really tasty. We would highly recommend and visit again if in the area.

The only thing was that it would be nice to have a more comfortable chair in the room! The one in our room was wicker with only a back cushion. Other than this, everything was great.
