What a fantastic little cottage (Honeysuckle). Took my mum and she has accessibility issues (sticks or walker) This cottage was fantastic for her. There were 2 small steps inside but nothing that couldn't be overcome. The young man looking after us was excellent. The facilities were clean and very homey. Bedrooms were great, the twin was upstairs and from the sky lights gave fantastic views (when it wasn't raining/snowing). For those who want to stargaze ... Wow amazing. Had option to use the hot tub, but the weather put pay to that unfortunately. The village of Thornton le Dale itself is beautiful with little coffee shops, a chocolate factory and an emporium that has stocks of all sorts of curiosities. Will definitely be booking to go again.

We booked all of the cottages for a large group to celebrate my wife's 60th. The hosts Andy and Julie could not have been more helpful. The accommodation was comfortable and well maintained. If there were any issues, the hosts addressed them promptly. Each cottage has a different layout, some with ensure bathrooms and some without. All have decent living rooms and kitchens, and some have living rooms that open up onto patio areas. We hired the Rocking Horse Barn for two nights, and it worked out perfectly for our group of 46. The first night, the hosts arranged a fish & chip van, and that worked out really well. The second night Julie cooked wonderful Thai food, which we highly recommend. Plates, cutlery, glasses, etc. were provided, along with a good sound system. The barn is quaintly decorated with nice lighting and is ideal for a modest gathering. Generally, there is an 11 PM curfew for noise. However, that is no issue if you know in advance. We were in the four bed cottage, and that was ideal for our dogs, as there was an enclosed area for them to run around. That may not be the case with the other cottages, but dogs are still welcome as long as they are controlled. The large hottubs were great added bonus. Our 4-bed had its own hottub. Some others were shared. The location is great, and we had a trip on the historic steam train, leaving from Pickering. Thornton Le Dale is close by, and some of the group made trips to Scarborough and Whitby. There are also a couple of pubs within a mile. We booked the Cayley Arms for Sunday lunch, and it was excellent! All in all, a great stay!

Properties of this nature require constant attention, and the most important thing was that any minor issues were addressed promptly. Parking is slightly restricted. However, we managed to park all of our cars, and, again, we knew this issue in advance, and it was well managed. Therefore, in summary, there are no negatives that were not managed well.

We booked two cottages for my brothers 40th birthday amongst 8 of us. They were next door to each other and perfect for our needs. I would recommend this for family and close friends. It's a home from home. The cottages are really quaint and cosy. Our hosts were lovely, Sue even made us a very reasonably priced Thai banquet so we didn't have to go out. The hot tub was lovely too.

Nothing to moan about. It is quite remote so walks need a car first to travel as the road outside has no path and could be dangerous.

Lovely Cottage, with good facilities. Living Room size and seating was great for a party of 8. Brilliant Location near forests and with nice walks for the dogs from the door. Lovely Beaches only 25 minutes away. Amazing Thai food cooked for us by Julie as a takeaway on our 1st night. Hot Tub is very large and great for a big group.

Water pressure for showers was low, and could be improved. Instructions could be be better on arrival as we had to divert one our group whilst still on route to the cottage to get wood, coal and firelighters. We only discovered the following day that we could have purchased these from the owners. Also the lighting around the outside of the cottage needs to be improved. Very drafty from the Chapel front door, so was cold for those sitting nearest to the external door on the sofas even with the fire and CH on (luckily blankets were provided).

Location was great for us as we were there for a specific reason and it is near to family. Liked the idea that we could book cottages together to accommodate all the family. Fantastic that there was a dishwasher for a big group. The hot tub was lovely. Hosts were really welcoming and gave us a quick tour and chat about do's and don'ts around the hot tub which was sensible. They also made sure there was a bigger BBQ for our use.

Just a couple of niggly bits really. There was no plug for the kitchen sink and no washing up bowl. Toilet seats a bit loose. Outside door onto court yard were difficult to secure, problem with locks which really need looking at.

We stayed in Honeysuckle Cottage which is spacious and had everything we needed, the shower is powerful and beds comfortable. The cottages are well located to local attractions, and beautiful beaches., and there are lots of child friendly activities to visit in the area. The owners Andy and Julie are friendly, welcoming and helped me to navigate the area.

There is a clothes airer but this was not substantial enough to help with drying beach towels and swimwear, it would be helpful to have a more robust one available.

Lovely location. Close to seaside, towns and walks. Comfortable as always. Third time of staying. Julie and Andy are so friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Lovely refurb to bathroom. Hot tub a real treat.

Beds a little hard for our liking but everyone’s preferences are different so we didn’t mind.

The surroundings were fantastic, the cottage was quiet and peaceful! I asked for the host to make it extra special anyway they can as it was a birthday surprise trip and we were treated by a bottle of prosecco, two cupcakes and a birthday card for my partner! Truly wonderful!

There wasn't anything we didn't enjoy, we just felt the decor needed updating.

A lovely welcoming, well equipment cottage in a good location. The owner was welcoming and friendly upon our arrival showing us all the facilities. All the rooms were clean and comfortable and a well equipped kitchen too. The added bonus of the hot tub made our stay, it was lovely each evening to sit in the tub and star gaze as there is not much light pollution. Would definitely stay here again
