Excellent hotel, well run, with very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Food was consistently good and used award winning local produce. Extensive, good looking breakfast menu. We both had the full cooked and it was outstanding. I have no doubt everything else would have been prepared to the same standard based on that, our fellow diners' discussions, and the evening meal in the restaurant prior.
V minor gripe. During the evening in the bar prior, and when we ate in the restaurant, there was a lack of piped music which left the atmosphere a little lacking. At breakfast the following morning it was remedied and made it wholly different experience.

There was a good breakfast selection available & the timings were great. Breakfast was between 07.30Hr's & 1000Hr's. The Staff were very friendly & polite. The Room we felt was overpriced at £222 a night. Evening Meal the same & a bottle of Carbinet Sauvignon red wine was £33 a bottle. There was also a 10% compulsory service charge.
The only thing we would have liked, would have been more time to eat your breakfast. As I stated earlier, there was a good selection on the Breakfast menu. Yoghurts, Croissants, Fruit Salad & Breakfast Cereals etc. When you sat down to enjoy one of these items, you were asked if you'd decided what cooked breakfast you would like. You hadn't had an opportunity to even look at the menu at this stage.

Bed comfortable. Loved the pillows! Food very good. Loved that the cooked Breakfast was Served, rather than buffet style. Staff all Lovely, Friendly and Efficient. Tea, Coffee, Biscuits & Cool Water in the room. Room to lay out all my bits in the bathroom :-) & car parking on site. Oh, and the Welcome Brochure was the best I've ever come across .... and we travel quite a lot!
What's not to like? It was totally Charming :-)

Breakfast was excellent, everything you could wish for was available, the staff were very helpful and friendly,
There wasn't anything that we didn't like, we were quite surprised with the standards of cleanliness given the age of the building, very impressed and we will probably stay there again, if there was anything it was possibly the drinks were a bit expensive,

Room 10 is a spacious room looking over the front of the property which you can hear people from the pub when they go out for a smoke but it’s not all night and doesn’t last long so it didn’t bother us too much. The room had tea and coffee facilities which had green tea for me… bonus. It was a very clean and welcoming room with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was lovely my husband had a full English and so did I but a vegetarian option, the food was delicious. The notes/info in the booklet for the guest to read is a must as it not only gives you information but is very witty.
Room 10 is right up at the top of the property so if you have mobility issue or a dislike of stairs ask for an alternative, we was fine. I’d be quite happy having that room again.

From the moment we entered The White Swan the staff were so lovely, the lady on reception should us both to our rooms faultless standard of decor . we were then told that the restaurant, although we had arrived later than expected ,would still be serving meals. Delighted with this we accepted the meal was first class. I cannot express how lovely the entire stay at this hidden gem and will not hesitate to recommend it to all.

When we were shown to our room, we were disappointed, as it was quite cramped and very dark. This wasn't helped by the atrocious weather that day, but even with all the lights on it was inadequately lit. We asked for another room and Caitlin went out of her way to offer us an alternative. The second room was superb. Plenty of natural light and very well lit when we had the curtains closed. It was still very quiet despite overlooking the main road and over the access to the car park. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. A nice seating area and fresh milk in a mini fridge for tea and coffee. Decent sized bathroom with shower over the bath. The Alternative A-Z is a must read and made us chuckle! Thank you!
The very slight criticism is of the shower in that room. It was a lovely, powerful rainwater shower head, but from a female perspective, a little awkward when trying to keep your hair dry while showering. A double shower head would have made it perfect. Nothing that spoilt our stay and we would definitely come back

I was greeted with a warm welcome and every member of staff I met seemed friendly and approachable. The room was clean, spacious and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is plenty of free private parking at the back of the hotel which is important to me. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and enjoyed both meals, especially sampling some of the wine list.
The water pressure in the shower wasn't the best but this didn't detract from an otherwise great stay. I'll gladly return when I am next in the area.

It’s in a very nice location and the building itself is charming. Lots of character, antique furniture and open fires. Dogs are allowed in the Hideaway rooms which are set back from the main building. The hotel provides slippers bath robes doggy beds and treats. The hotel itself is quite informal and the staff are pleasant and helpful. It’s a lovely place in a very pretty little town.
Nothing.

location was great, lots of parking, staff were amazing
was not a £200 a night hotel, the room was tired (cracked and broken tiles in the bathroom, floor tiles rocked etc) was really hot in room, toiletries supplied more appropriate for a budget hotel, no facilities apart from room, no decaffeinated options in room, could go on. Is worth £100-£120 a night and then would be amazing
