We had 3 nights at High Dalby House, and can't fault anything, welcoming, peaceful, quiet, beautiful setting, lovely breakfast and a great night's sleep, can't thank Ian and Linda enough who, after a long drive greeted us with a pot of tea and cake...Would love to return with our dog next time to explore Dalby forest and the area more, with visits to Whitby for fish and chips, Whitby Abbey, Robin Hoods Bay and Thornton la Dale, just a beautiful place to stay and recharge and a stunning area to visit.

There was nothing that we didn't like..

The location was fantastic, peaceful and tranquil. Beautiful gardens. The room was well decorated, clean, with views of the gardens. Breakfast was lovely. Lots of choice, Set us up for the day. The hosts were welcoming, friendly, very accommodating, lovely people. I would absolutely recommend a stay.

The only negative thing, that has nothing to do with the Dalby House, is that you have to make sure you book in advance somewhere to eat. We had trouble booking something, as we left it until we got there. Maybe out of season it would be much easier. We went Easter Bank Holiday.

Exceptional. In the middle of a glorious forest Great choices and good portions for breakfast. Everything from pancakes and maple syrup to full English to vegetarian. Friendly owners who made visitors feel welcome We loved the house and the conservatory overlooking the very beautiful garden. The room was clean and comfortable We took our well behaved dog who was treated as if she was at home ( she loved it!). There are 6 acres for walk and it’s close to a ‘Go Ape’ centre and the Dalby visitors centres but there was no noise etc from there. We will be going back

It would have been helpful to have bathmats/handles I reach while showering for the high gloss bath which had the shower above.

The setting and superb hosts were beyond our expectations. The room was lovely and light and of a decent size with gr8 views to the garden and surroundings. Breakfast was of a very high quality and the service superb. Easy access to the amazing Dalby Forest and its many trials was just what we required for our stay.

The bed was a little to soft for our liking but extremely clean bedding and very good lighting. Although Dog friendly it was limited to where you were allowed to take the dog within the house. So could not use the sitting room if wanted dog with you but where asked to not leave dog unattended in the room. So limited on an evening other than Garden room. Which was not a problem for our 2 night stay but could be if staying for longer.

Was made very welcome by Linda and Ian. Gave us a brief tour of place. Very spacious rooms. 6 acres of forest land that can explore. Well away from traffic. Very quiet and relaxing. Plenty of nature to see. Bout 30 - 40 mins drive to Whitby and 1 hour ish to Scarborough. Saltburn has a very nice sandy beach but not much in shops or food outlets. Would definitely recommend this place. We visit again. 5 out of 5 stars ⭐ guest room does have sky sports to use but no sky in bedrooms which makes sense as your here to explore / sightseeing. Top marks for Linda and Ian. Very heartwarming place.

Fantastic accommodation, Owners Ian and Linda could not be more helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the dog friendly room which was beautiful with our young Labrador he was able to play with Owners dogs and had free run of the grounds a massive 6 acres. Breakfast was stunning with lots of choice hot and cold items to choose from. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Could not falt this place would definitely recommend.

My room was comfortable and so quiet, lovely view of the gardens frim my window. Breakfast was all good, fresh produce and a fabulous choice. The gardens was fantastic and my dog was allowed to be off lead without fear of escaping.

No dislikes other than staying in the forest I was unable to get a mobile signal to call out. This was out of the control of High Dalby House though.

The location is great and the house is beautiful. It lies in the heart of the forest, surrounded by stunning gardens. The room was cosy and overlooked the lake. Our breakfast was delicious and the owners Ian and Linda made us feel very welcome. We’d definitely book again.

Apart from the bathroom being across the hallway, absolutely nothing.

This was a little gem, the house and big garden were beautiful and peaceful, this felt like being on a retreat, and I did some Qi-Gong in the garden. This was a restorative stay for me, and Ian and Linda were very welcoming hosts. 15 minutes walk from Dalby Forest visitor centre. As a solo woman, the wider area and compound felt very safe.

Location was amazing ..... not surprising the mobile and internet coverage was poor .... no bad thing at all as offered the opportunity to totally leave tech behind and tune into the beauty of nature all around us. Food and company excellent. Warm and safe and would highly recommend
