Accommodation was beautifully decorated and suited its countryside setting Tea/Coffee tray was superb with excellent selection of everything you might want Free parking Room was very quiet Staff were very helpful and friendly Great location for our trip Breakfast was included in the cost Price was very fair
The food, whilst nice, could be so much better…presentation was there but certain elements let it down like the crab cake at dinner which was too wet and didn’t taste as it should have or the bacon at breakfast. The bacon on our first day was lovely but it was a different cut of bacon on our last day which we couldn’t eat. We also found the bed a tad hard after a couple of nights and all of the pillows too soft…it would be nice to have a mixture of hard/soft pillows and a plush topper.

The Bluebird I in a great location for travelling around the general Lancashire area. There is ample parking and room are clean. Staff are really friendly. Great breakfast choice.
We ate in the restaurant on two evenings. By the time our 7.30 pm booking came round, several menu choices were unavailable. This included Sunday Roast. The meal we had in the Saturday was excellent; Sunday’s wasn’t great with really slow service and food that was just about ok. It was a busy bank holiday but food quality should be consistent. We’d stay again but either not eat there, or else eat much earlier.

We had a lovely overnight stay as a family on our road trip from Scotland. Exactly what we needed - easy access from the motorway, good family room, and decent food in the restaurant.
The gentleman who greeted us for breakfast service was quite rude. Directly telling us the restaurant doesn’t serve non hotel guests. Despite repeatedly telling we are guest, our names, our room number, upon leaving he asked again for our card rooms not knowing if we were leaving or going back to our bedrooms! Very strange and left a slight bitter after taste on a great stay.

The room was a very generous size with comfy beds. There was plenty of coffee/tea provided. Also extra pillows if you needed them. The ensuite shower room was a good size with a shower which was very straightforward to use. Plenty of towels and toiletries also provided.
Despite following the instructions we couldn't increase the temperature of the heating and so the room was too cold for me. Also the TV only worked intermittently - my partner did go and speak to reception about it. To be generous it may partly have been due to storm Darraugh.

The inn itself is amazing it’s very clean and the beds are very comfortable.
I would suggest for the guests that may have disabilities difficulties that the toilet seat could be made from the sturdy ones that we have experience before. The seat in our room was already loose and when my husband sat down it moved and pinched him bringing blood. Not something anyone needs from a little break away he is a veteran so his mobility isn’t great. It’s a beautiful inn but that’s the difference from staying again. Although the staff were amazing and they did offer us another room… however; he was sore for a few days and that made the stay unpleasant for him. Just something the owners may think about moving forward for other guest not to suffer the same fate.

The food in general was good but the breakfasts were much better than say a Premier Inn type because the cooked breakfasts were all cooked and served to order and not from a self service hot plate! We used it as a stopover on a car journey from Edinburgh to Oxford and the location is only a few minutes drive off the M6 and easy to find with plenty of car parking.
Really we were happy with everything. There are maintenance jobs in the building that need doing but I guess that is not unusual and it didn't spoil our stay.

Lovely hotel between Preston & Blackburn. Easy to reach on A59 but set back from the road so traffic noise wasn't an issue. Perfect location to visit Ribchester and the Forest of Bowland, and also convenient for anyone having business in Blackburn, Preston or at BAe Systems. Room was clean and comfortable, public areas well looked after and the restaurant served excellent meals. The grounds around the hotel were well looked after. The staff were friendly and helpful, and one was able to explain the connection between the hotel's name and the factory across the road which had built the engine for Donald Campbell's Bluebird boat. All in all, a very pleasant stay at the Bluebird Inn.
The cask beer in the bar was not very well kept, but this of course may have been a one off problem. The area around the hotel was a bit nondescript with a huge BAe Systems factory is across the road.

Food was excellent quality (I had the breakfast) Clean environment All facilities were in working order Modern environment Friendly & helpful staff
I found it difficult to think of something I would change as the hotel exceeded my expectations. If I had to choose something to change it would probably be the bathroom as as it steams up considerably when taking a shower so lots of condensation but this is such a minute problem that did not effect my stay and shouldn’t be taken as negative.

Clean, a good stop-over on the way to Lake District if you land late at Manchester
Staff were not super friendly Had to pay in advance even if arriving same day - it was inconvenient because I was asked for the credit card number on the phone as we landed with delay in Manchester - I was annoyed they did not trust me I would pay the morning after before check out!
