The staff made this property. They were welcoming and available all the time. I had requested a room at the front of the hotel with plenty of light, for health reasons and on an upper floor as I don’t like ground floor as we were here for over a week. When we got there. The room was at the back. 😞 The staff member said they could change this to front but on ground floor, only one left. I was not happy but gave it a go. The room smelled of wet dog. The window had shrubs up to top of glass so was very dark. We stayed the night but went back to reception In morning. The lovely lady listened to our concerns and immediately changed our room to exactly what we had asked for on booking. We were very pleased and this made our stay comfortable and enjoyable at a difficult time.

This is a good hotel but could be great with a few changes. Simple house keeping issues. Cobwebs from floor to bottom of chairs in restaurant. On several high backed chairs. Black spots of Mould on skirtings along window area at front. The area where the tv is in the separate area at front has coffee stains and thick dust with other marks all along skirting. Easy fix, wiped and painted. We’ve stayed here several times and it’s always an observation of mine. I brought this up before with no action taken. Bit disappointed when these are fundamentally basic changes.

A warm and welcoming staff, who are universally bright and helpful. Meals including breakfast were very good indeed.

The reception area and bar appear to have been nicely modernised, but our bedroom needed an update (although the bathroom looked like it had been done up). No bedside plug points, no USB charging points anywhere in the room (although I saw them in the bar). Fixtures and fittings were old and tired. The pool also desperately needed renovation. The family changing room in the gents was in bits—tiles missing, a plastic cone over where the shower drain should be.

The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were super friendly and always willing to help… it was unreal :) It wasn't just some staff, it was all and we were there for a week. By far, this is the "friendliest" Holiday Inn we've stayed at. Customer service was a 10/10

The breakfast wasn't great. I think they need to reconsider how they keep the food warm so it doesn't dry up so quickly. The glasses at breakfast weren't clean and we most times opted for coffee cups if we couldn't find a clean one.

Staff were helpful and friendly 🙂 Cleaning team 5 star Bar Staff. Ginger haired guy was attentive..although when cost discrepancies were questioned and advised as incorrect I wasn't offed a refund

The staff were amazing at this hotel. So friendly and felt like they couldn't do enough for you. They were brilliant with children. We had a beautiful room which was immaculate. Food in the hotel was very good. Not too bad value either and kids ate free with paying adults. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Service was brilliant and staff were always replenishing and getting what guests wanted. Again, lovely with children.

Swimming pool could have done with a little bit of an upgrade. Tiles were chipped away in the pool and left bits on the bottom of the pool which didn't feel good under foot. A large part of the big pool was roped off for gym guests which is fine but only left small pool and one small lane for hotel guests.

Every single member of staff was delightfully warm, welcoming, and helpful. Went out of their way to make the stay special.

There are no complaints from my stay. Relative to the price, the room, facilities and breakfast were all of an excellent standard and great value for money. The room was huge, leisure facilities were a huge bonus, and kids were given a goody bag with a voucher they could use at the cafe. The little things make it memorable for us all.

Room was very spacious. Good facilities and in particular children loved swimming. Breakfast was fulfilling. Very freindly and helpful staff all round - thanks for putting up with the us! Overal good value. Many thanks

Nothing is perfect and theres always something to improve...dinner service was inconsistent and menu (bed breakfast dinner) was limiting especially only suitable if staying up to 2/3 nights. The other option was to use the other menu but allowance could be increased - think it was reduced to £18. £23 to 25 would work or dining out for bit more variety and going with just the bed and breakfast alone would suffice and maybe save you money. Standing water in the swimming changing rooms could be cleared often as its trip hazard and looked unhygienic. Condition looked same with every visit.

Very friendly staff made my wife and l at ease after a very hard and stressful day prior to our arrival at the hotel. The staff are pet friendly and KEIRA our female cockapoo was welcomed beyond belief, pett rate of £10.00p is acceptably rated especially as we are well over 70 and pensioners.

Our food provided in room service was not as good as last stay at the hotel. We accepted a lower standard than we previously had, putting it down to how much busier the place was after covid restrictions. In our opinion, staff coped very well under duress and room service supplied for two beef burgers was very good

The staff were really nice, always smiling and nothing was any trouble. We got breakfast included which there was loads of choice, fresh & really tasty. The beds were comfy and the room was clean. They sell Starbucks coffee too which was a plus.

We didn't try any food from the restaurant because it seemed over priced £18.50 for chicken and mushroom pie with mash potato and if you wanted to buy a pot noodle to take to your room it was £3.75 for a standard size. The hotel is showing signs of wear and tear and could really do with some tlc especially in the gym which looks grim and the changing room is freezing but it is a 3 star hotel and for what we paid it was worth it.

Breakfast first day was a 10. Day after Saturday, no bread you could cut yourself (probably just ran out as it was so busy).but all in all a very good breakfast....one of the better ones including 5 * restaurant staff very friendly in mornings.It was as if it was 2 separate eating places..varied so much from morning and evening service. Swim pool and steam room etc were great .

The evening meals. Very pricey and not good....curry was nice but more or less like a wetherspoon one except more than double their price...ordered steak sandwich and chips £14.95..had to send back, fries cold and steak sandwich was a triangle of normal bread with like 3 tiny bits in...awful. couldn't understand why the breakfasts and dinners varied so much . Also location wasn't great for us as in edge of a busy dual carriageway and didn't really have anywhere to walk our dogs.
