The breakfast was good and also the evening meal in the pub.

We should have reported it at the time but the sink in the bathroom had a big crack in it. The bathroom door didn't close properly as the mechanism on the handle that keeps the door closed was missing. The room didn't smell very fresh when we first entered the room and the window was very difficult to open. In order to keep the window open a few inches so as to get some air into the room it took one of us to hold it open whilst the other placed the folded bath mat under the window to keep it open a few inches. There was a shaving light over the mirror in the bathroom that doesn't work. For what we paid it was good value, just the bathroom that's in need of some TLC.

Large and clean room that included a fan for the very hot weather, good wifi that's free, great parking space, good location, exceptionally friendly staff. Very pretty hotel with lovely decor and furniture. The room that I had was on the top floor and although it was a bit of a trek it was well worth it for the room and view.

Bed was a little uncomfortable and the heating was on full blast when we went in but it was easily fixed by turning down the radiators. There was no bin which was a little difficult. The room had no hairdryer but we went to ask for one at the reception and were given one so not really a negative overall!

The staff were exceptional. I was called by the manager Jo who explained there was a slight issue with my booked room, so she made me aware that they would put me in another room. The hotel is situated just up the road from the centre of town so is in a very convenient location. The hotel is attached to a pub restaurant which serves typical pub chain fare, which is great value for money and the portion sizes are excellent. I had hunters chicken with chips and a chocolate fudge cake, which saw me right. The room I was given was of reasonable size, clean and comfortable. I did have a breakfast and it was marvellous. Cooked as requested and very filling. There are other breakfast items available such as continental and vegetarian options. I cannot stress enough how friendly and helpful the staff are. They are a real credit to The Brentwood, and I enjoyed my stay so much, that I have already booked a return visit in the new year with my wife and kids. I would strongly recommend this place.

During the early part of our 2 week holiday we were advised that our original booking of a family room had to be changed due to a problem with the room. I was unable to find any alternative accommodation at short notice but we were adequately compensated by the offer of a complimentary breakfast. The rooms we had were perfect for our needs. The 3 members of staff we interacted with were very polite and friendly.

I can't think of anything I can find fault with...... It would have been great if the exact same hotel had been a bit closer to where my son lives in the Broomhill area of Sheffield - but that's hardly the hotels fault! :-)

The room was large and airy, with lots of shelf space. There was even an iron and ironing board had we needed to use one. The bed was huge and very comfortable and the bathroom had both a shower and bath, with lots of hot water. There was a large TV in the room, and tea and coffee making facilities, which for me, is all important. There was also a fan in the room, which was a great addition, and which was used. All the staff we met were helpful and accommodating. The Restaurant was next door so we were able to have a very reasonably priced evening meal. We weren’t aware though when we booked, that breakfast was available, as the main Restaurant did not open until 12 o’clock, but the young lady on Reception explained that breakfast was available and showed us the room that it would be serviced in. That was a real bonus.

Comfortable room at a very good price. Staff friendly and helpful. Good bar food and bar servcie. Desk fan provided to mitigate the heat.

Room was too close to the outer door and smoking area and inconsiderate guests contaminated the room with cigarette smoke and made noise at night. Other rooms would certauinly be better in this respect and I will request such next time.

The hotel is very clean peaceful with comfortable beds and the staff is lovely and very friendly. The pub is great with a good menu for everyone and chairs to sit and relax. It gets lively but not too noisy and with a friendly crowd. It has parking area and a big outdoor space.

Difficult to register and connect to their wi-fi, if you travel for work and need internet then you need to talk to them and have the them fix it for you . I didn't bother with it as i wasnt in the hotel a lot. The bathtubs are 'standard' size which means you wont fit all in there in case you were planning to have a nice bath. Hopefully next time they will give me a better room that the only window is not connected to the bathroom.

The staff were very friendly and made the stay more enjoyable, the facilities of the pub next door was a great addition to relax in. The bed was great, could of been a bit softer but everyone has their performance.

The headboard attached to the wall was very creaky and was bothersome when moving around when sleeping. The shower was a nightmare to use and had no instruction to control the temperature and pressure, so ya had to fart around for 5 min to get it to the right temp and for it to not slam upright and get water on the floor.

Location was perfect for us as we were able to get to all the sites we wanted to visit. Good to have car parking facilities. Beds really comfy! Breakfast was excellent value, good choices and lots of it. We were glad to have the pub/restaurant attached to the hotel as that meant we didn't have to travel around in the evening looking for eateries in an unfamiliar town. We felt very safe at the hotel throughout our stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It made all the difference to our break. Thank you everyone very much!

There was nothing we didn't like. If I have to comment I would suggest a small fridge in the room but it didn't really matter as the staff welcomed us using some milk from the dining room for our drinks. Perhaps in summer months it would make a difference.

Great communication from the staff when there was a potential problem and quickly a solution was offered. Nice sized room, clean and fresh.

Only thing I didn’t like about my room was the lack of plug sockets. Cud only find 2 in the whole room and none were near the bed where I heeded them. All doors were closed when I tried to check out at 7am, had to post the key thro the letterbox
