The hotel is situated in a great location on St Andrews with a free car park adjacent to the building. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Our room on the second floor was a decent size, with a comfortable bed & an armchair . The bedroom & the bathroom were very clean with an ample supply of white towels. I would have preferred a separate shower in the bathroom instead of a shower over the bath but this was a only a small disadvantage. Breakfast was good , with a selection of hot dishes cooked to order along with pastries & fresh fruit. I would definitely stay again if I was visiting St Andrews.
I just find using a shower over the bath a little difficult to access.

Large room, restaurant and bar is the entire first floor. Lots of beverage and food options. Included breakfast with plenty of options as well. Scottish salmon and scramble eggs was my go to.
Hotel floors were creaky and loud. I was awoke each night by people walking around in the room above me or out in the hallway.. Also heard two folks knocking boots through the wall from next door. A third time someone dropped the toilet lid at 3a and woke me. Each event was easily heard through the walls and/or flooring. Maybe next time bring earplugs?

We had 2 rooms, and they were both huge! One was a family room with a king and 2 twins. The other had a king but a huge sitting area. The location was central in St. Andrews, so easy to walk and see the sights and find a restaurant. We had breakfast included which was really nice. It included a cold buffett plus hot selections from a menu. The bathrooms were also large. We would stay here again. Was a good value for the money. It had everything we needed. Plenty of space for golf clubs too if that's why you are visiting St. Andrews.
It just felt a little bit dated, though everything was in good working order and clean.

Excellent downtown location close walking distance to everything you want to see or do in St. Andrews. Free parking in the public lot right next to the Inn, if you're lucky enough to get a spot. Usually, you can if you wait a few minutes for someone to leave. This is a big plus. Large comfortable king-size bed. Good breakfast made to order. The rating is based on the good location, good breakfast, available parking and friendly staff.
Very dark, poorly lit room, makes the room feel older and dingy than it is. Slight bathroom septic odor. Poor quality construction details, painting, makes thing look older than they are. The bathroom mirror lights in our room didn't work. Loose bathroom door handle. The shower water is extremely hot, it has separate hot and cold faucets, making it very dangerous. Typical deep UK tub is dangerous to step in and out of, even for me, a mountain climber. If you are older, or have limited mobility, don't expect to be able to take a shower.

The location is fantastic being 2mins walk to the shops etc. and a stroll to the harbour one way and the beach the other way. It is right in the centre but still quiet at night. We had stayed in the room before and a second armchair was much appreciated. Large room The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The bathroom could do with some refurbishment but perfectly adequate with lots of hot water. The breakfast was not as good as our last stay.

Good location with nearby parking. All staff welcoming and efficient. Room was spacious and comfortable with plenty of seating and a table.
Being a Saturday and teatime lots of noise from all the flat screens which might overwhelm some guests. However when the footie finished music was played throughout. It’s obviously a popular haunt for locals and it’s only fair that they enjoy the banter and atmosphere. Choose your meal time carefully if you prefer it quieter.

We've stayed here the last two festive periods. Cannot fault the staff, service or facilities. Staff work so so hard, but always with a smile. Rooms are spotless and comfortable. The food is always outstanding especially for being a chain - everything is fresh, and delicious. Choice for breakfast is really good also. Excellent location, close to everything. Staff really friendly, I really love coming here. We won't get back nest festive season as we will be too busy but soon as we can then we will always book with Greyfriars.
Last year we did have a bigger room with a couch however think that was maybe just luck. Our room was smaller this year but spotless.

Room was spacious and clean. .Floors were a bit creaky and it was easy to hear what was happening in surrounding rooms, but bed was comfy and slept well.Breakfast was included and the selection was good..parking was very limited and the property did not have their own spaces.Wonderfull location steps away from St Andrew's Old Course. Staff were for the most part good. It is a great place in the heart of St Andrew's Would recommend.
Walls were thin ..Floors were creaky..Still had a wonderful sleep

Central. Safe. Clean. Warm. Lots of towels. Really quiet despite bar below. Lovely staff-so friendly and informative. We were up for univ open day. Great breakfast choice. Free parking right around corner. They even offered to keep our bags after check out so we didn’t have to cart them round.
If I had to pick something I would say that previous smoker has been in room(despite being non smoking and clearly stated so prob out of staff control) and despite best efforts it was still apparent. We opened the windows which did help.

Superb location, breakfast was tasty, helpful staff in the restaurant, free car park adjacent was helpful. Walking distance to all main attractions and easy driving access to golf courses. Pleasantly surprised by choice of red wines. Easy access and secure access to rooms. Room size typical of pub with rooms.
Lack of food choices for dinner, three out of first four choices unavailable, after having been told two other options were off the menu. When the food did arrive, it was okay, and in complete contrast with the breakfast which was tasty We decided not to have dinner there on our second night and I'm afraid ate dinner somewhere else, which was a shame.
