We were staying in a large family group - grandparents, 3 couples and 4 grandchildren. The accommodation worked very well for us - 2 of the stables next door to each other. The ground floor open plan was brilliant for the children and in the evenings us adults could sit round the coffee table comfortably playing cards or at the table for a more serious board game. Kitchens are very well-equipped for self-catering. We enjoyed the walk into Salisbury - just long enough to be an interesting adventure, but not too far for the toddlers. There are lanes and field walks from the property too. It was a great success for us.

All the facilities were good, great to have soap, washing up liquid, good cooking equipment, towels etc. Everything you need in a comfortable cottage.
The walls were very thin and I could hear the people in the next cottage very clearly.

Property was way more spacious than expected and very well equipped. It was warm and incredibly quiet in its rural setting on a farm. Perfect location for visiting Salisbury. Home made cake on arrival was a big hit too.

The cottage was cosy extremely clean, we also had a nice surprise waiting for us which was most welcome after our long drive. The tea shop was just opposite through the gate and was lovely. I really recommended staying here, the staff were wonderful. Would definately visit again.

It was great to have 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was really well equipped with a lovely big lounge where we could all gather. lovely to be on the farm. We took our baby grandson to see the chickens every day -he found them very fastinating! It was a really easy walk or run into the cathedral in Salisbury.

A great location, peaceful and tranquil, yet on the very edge of the city. Exceptionally high standard of cleanliness and a very thoughtful and delicious cake left for our arrival. Parking right outside of the property. All in all a comfortable, well equipped cottage, excellently located for the city of Salisbury (public transport links easily accessible to Salisbury) and with good access to routes to explore further afield.
A washing machine in the property would have been ideal. The mattress was a little lumpy and would benefit from renewal.

A lovely place to stay run by lovely people. I'd happily stay here again. The 3 bedroom house has a lot of character and charm with furnishings to match. On arrival, there is ample parking for all guests, the property is thoroughly cleaned throughout and you are greeted with a cake and fresh flowers, which was a lovely gesture. The house also has a very nice kitchen and to the back is a large garden which is shared with your fellow guests staying at the same Old Stables property. Our children played happily with the children of our next door neighbours, and so we all got on rather well which only added to our holiday. At the end of the garden is a path that leads you to a little river, which is nice to walk along. Opposite the house is a little farm shop / cafe serving a variety of cakes and so on. The property is very well located, in close proximity to all the major attractions (Stonehenge, Old Wardour Castle, Wilton House, Old Sarum, Salisbury Cathedral and so on). The house is also rather close to the New Forest and you can enjoy a wonderful drive through the countryside amongst the wild horses that cross the road in various places. Those with kids can also go to Longdown Activity Farm and New Forest Wildlife Park. To the west of Salisbury is the beautiful Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), where you'll pass through villages with thatched roofed cottages and such amazing greenery. We particularly liked the forested areas surrounding Old Wardour Castle. The castle itself is very much worth seeing as you're able to explore the ruin fully and also take in the tranquility of the location. There is quite honestly so much history in the Salisbury area, making it a perfect place to visit. As I said, this is a place we'd definitely come to visit again.

Wordsworth Cottage at The Old Stables was superb: extremely comfortable and lovely accommodation: the sort of place you could have happily stayed on for much longer. In addition there was a scrumptious home-made cake and a vase of freshly-cut flowers: perfect touches to a perfect stay. Thank you.
Absolutely nothing.

The location was absolutely beautiful, it felt very rural situated next to the horses and the river but it was 10 minutes drive to Salisbury centre. The cottage itself was exactly like the photos plus it was completely disabled friendly with a downstairs bedroom and wet room shower which was perfect for my mother who had limited mobility. It was very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The beds were quite hard but there were plenty of extra blankets which made them a bit comfier.

The door was left unlocked and keys were in the house. Walked in to find a welcome with cakes - my son and nephew were very happy. The ambience of the cottage was fantastic. For an avid reader like me, I just wanted to sit at the back, or next to the strean with a few books and just pass the time relaxing in the shade.
There was nothing that we did not like. Except for the fact that we could not spend more time there. Now that I know about the place, I can plan a longer stay in the future.
