The meat sausages and bacon were good. Stunning location with gardens and riverside setting close to fascinating places to visit. Preservation of some historical architecture is great. Tiles are stunning. Most of staff very friendly and helpful particularly Mel. Excellent value evening meal with very good vegan choices. Comfortable bed. Free WiFi.
The most disappointing aspect of the stay. Not enough choice particularly for vegans. This was surprising because the evening meal was excellent for vegans. The meat sausages and bacon were good. The decaf coffee was not very good. The fruit salad was bland. There were not enough pastries. The jars of jam are tiny and very wasteful of resources. The Jackfield is a slightly depressing space with tired decor and a cars against the window. (Re breakfast). Bathroom had a very strong sulphurous smell at times possibly coming up from bath drain..

This is such a lovely hotel. It is set in a pretty area around a 10 - 15 minute stroll from the centre of Ironbridge, or less if you walk quickly. You can walk beside the river through the gardens and park, instead of along the road if you prefer. The excellent breakfast is buffet style with lots of options: continental, cereals and cooked. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was enough wardrobe space for our 5 night stay. The location was perfect for exploring locally and further afield. The staff were so pleasant , they always check to see that everything is alright and were very helpful. There was a minor problem with the hot water one evening but it was sorted immediately. There is plenty of parking space as there is an overflow car park that can be used if there is a wedding on. If you have mobility issues then you may need to request a ground floor room or be able to use the lift as there are some steps inside and outside. You can use alternative routes without steps to some of the bedrooms. I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend this hotel if you are in the area.
There is a portable fan to use if the room is too warm, it would be such a bonus if there was air conditioning but I suspect that as it is an old building the bedrooms may not be able to have air conditioning put in.

The overall look of the hotel - loved the mock streets leading to the stairs. The hotel was very clean throughout and very comfortable. We found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent - some very interesting dishes all prepared to a good standard and once again, the service was extremely good. Our room was well appointed, very comfortable and gave us all we wanted. This is first time we have stayed in a Best Western hotel and we were very impressed, therefore, we will look at BWs for future breaks.
The pillows were strange - very floppy and small. The room and bathroom were very, very hot, we did mention it to reception and they asked maintenance to take a look, there was an immediate improvement but it was still very warm, the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't seem to be very effective which turned it into a sauna every time we had a shower. These were small issues and would not prevent us booking again.

Great location, close to all the Ironbridge museums and a short drive from Shrewsbury. Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Wide choice at breakfast and the hot buffet breakfast was very good quality and kept refilled. Restaurant food was delicious too although the menu wasn't varied enough for our tastes so only ate there one night. We both had single rooms which were clean and ample in size. Tea and coffee supplies kept stocked in the room plus a bottle of still water. Lovely old building that has been well maintained.
The shower room was very small. Dislike beds against radiators, ok this time as heating off for the summer but would be too warm for me if I visited in the winter. My sons room layout was different and bed was away from the radiator. Beer garden is non smoking/vaping, there is a smoking/ vaping area the other side of the hotel in a small courtyard with a table but no chairs. Always happy to vape in a separate area but would have appreciated some seating there.

Nice friendly greeting by reception, beautiful clean and comfortable rooms. Good free car parking with only a 15 min walk to Ironbridge, unfortunately the flood barriers were up so the riverside walk was closed, which meant a few steep hills had to be negotiated. Most of the staff were polite, professional and friendly.
The bar in the hotel is not manned upon arrival, you have to ring for service by the time someone came a small queue had formed. We ordered coffee but we prefer oat milk which was not available. We booked a table for evening meal, arrived on time and waited to be seated, although the greeter was looking at us, finishing his cup of coffee appeared to be his priority, he eventually seated us and took our order, asking if we wanted a jug of water on the table, to which we agreed and thanked him, unfortunately it never did arrive. This said, we could not let the actions of one person put us off this fantastic Hotel.

We chose an executive twin room for this stay which was spacious and comfortable, and with two armchairs (so many hotels only have one!). The evening meals in the restaurant are of a very good quality and the staff are very attentive. We like the close proximity of the hotel to the centre of Ironbridge and being able to walk off dinner in the park adjacent to the hotel. Staff at breakfast were very good and welcoming.
The shower in our bathroom did fluctuate between hot and cold depending on the water pressure which wasn't too pleasant. The hot buffet at breakfast on some mornings only had fried eggs, and we were not informed there were other choices of egg. On other mornings with table service there several choices of cooked eggs, but this was a minor issue as the choice of other food was very good.

Lovely building and gardens and grounds and great location and walkable to the Ironbridge. Nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom. Comfortable bed. Efficient polite staff at reception and at breakfast.
We felt that everything was a little tired. Weird smell in the bathroom. Quite stuffy and airless bedroom although we had the bedroom window and the bathroom window open. Breakfast nice but underwhelming. Would have been nice to have had wider variety of non cooked fruits/cereals/pastries etc.

The food was fantastic, flavours were beautiful and the staff were genuinely friendly. Location fab, just a stones throw from the town itself, room 18 has lovely views over the garden.
Just a few touch ups needed in room 18, e.g. curtains need to be on better runners, they seem a bit too heavy for the thin runners they're on. Couldn't close the large window curtains and didn't slide very well. 4 poster bed needs painting over the little chips and the mattress needs to be a bit higher as kept catching ourselves on the wooden edge. These things could really elevate the room but rest assured we have a lovely time anyway.

Location, location, location! Very convenient for exploring Ironbridge and the local museums, and in a lovely setting with attractive garden leading down to the banks of the Severn. The building has character and interesting previous ownership and history. Large on site free car park. Excellent breakfast with plenty of options.
While the wi-fi was strong and worked well most of the time, it was fiddly to get logged into, and on occasions would be working fine on one appliance but then would refuse to reconnect to another having previously worked fine on it. Irritating. It’s an old building so we wouldn’t expect everything to be in a perfect state of repair, but the window frame in our room (number 6) was rotten and the fittings loose.

Room only, room was good, only a view of the ventilation pipework outside the window, but it was quiet and we slept quite well. It was just a bed for the night where we arrived late evening and left before 7 the following morning. Lovely place, Ironbridge, very enjoyable location if we had time to explore it. This hotel has lots of beautiful features and a relaxing atmosphere, we would definitely consider staying again, but prices would need to be under £100 per night. We didn't notice the wedding in the hotel that weekend, but they all said they had a wonderful day.
Room was quite snug, to move around the bed, shower was over a very narrow bath so moving around while showering was difficult. Requires a certain level of mobility to get in & out of the shower. Water flow was great and temperature very controllable. Scented soap and shower gel was lovely. Tea makings were a bit skimpy, if you wanted more than one drink, or like your drink with milk, but I am sure I could have requested further milk sticks and tea bags. We tried booking again for a future weekend event, but prices were ridiculously high, so clearly last minute deals are the best way to get affordable prices.
