Excellent customer service. Very friendly and efficient. Clean rooms and good facilities. Perfect location for our trip to the theatre. Good variety of food on the menus, all well cooked and hubbys dairy intolerance catered for.

It's a small, but important thing. We had the tapas deal on Saturday evening and it was all delicious, apart from the glazed chipolata sausages...everything was really well cooked, but the quality of the sausages was very, very poor. We had the same experience on the breakfast on Sunday morning and it spoilt the meal for us. We didn't complain as we realise the buying decisions for the restaurant may not be down to the management, but come from further up in Best Western.

The food (evening meal) was excellent, I would eat there again for sure. The room was very nice, a good size and had good facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The pub itself is very nice, and if I had not been so busy, I'd probably have spent a little longer in it.

Like most car parks these days the spaces are sized for cars from the 1970s so the car park spaces are too narrow, I was worried about my car getting dinged all the time it was there. Perhaps some dedicated resident parking spaces that are a little wider would be a selling point? There was just one hanger in the spacious wardrobe hanging area. I needed about 8.

Everything is beautiful and new and well appointed - from the room to the bar and dining area below. I was upgraded to the suite (room 10) which was a lovely surprise. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Bathroom was great. I slept well. Staff were lovely and extremely welcoming, helpful and responsive.

I had a great stay. I have 3 minor points to note. Room 10 is directly above one of the dining area speakers so some bass noise was heard during the afternoon / evening. Staff turned this down a little when I mentioned it & it was all switched off by 10pm & then it was super peaceful. Breakfast - yoghurt, granola & blueberries was delicious however the scrambled eggs on toast was disappointing. Smart TV - I was excited to see all the options but quite a few channels required subscription to access.

Welcoming. Loved the building, decor and cleanliness. The staff were amazing and were really helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Lovely outside areas, beautifully lit at night. The bed was really comfortable. Very few places I’ve stayed have decent towels that don’t wrap around you but the Eccleston Arms had great towels that wrapped around wonderfully!

No air con or fan in the room. No lift for those with limited mobility.

- The staff were super friendly and helpful. - Very clean and quite modern in design. - Lots of parking. - General good vibe and entertainment. - Mint cocktails 10/10.

- The towel radiator was stuck on full heat and was unable to be turned off from our room, so it was absolutely roasting all night in our room 🔥👎 - The sauces served with our food were extremely salty.

The staff are delightful and friendly and the food is great. Full marks to the chef. We would certainly recommend this hotel for a visit to St Helens and the surrounding area.

The music in the restaurant is rather intrusive. Although we did recognise a lot of the tracks so it's all very vintage! The bathroom was miniscule and the shower leaked so the floor was always rather wet.

Our room was superb. We were upgraded to room 10, the Honeymoon Suite, which was a lovely surprise and very nice, cosy, clean and big. King size bed, huge flatscreen TV, lovely sofa and ottoman. Fresh fruit. Packed with facilities. The bar has an outstanding range of beers, wines and spirits, set in a cosy atmosphere. Beer garden has undercover cosy bench seating with cushions. Dinner menu is extensive and delicious as was the full breakfast. Special thanks to Claire who made us feel very welcome and attentive, greeted with a big smile 😊

Not important but just felt a small fridge in the room would have been beneficial, again this isn't a problem.

Great location for our trip and the room looked lovely Breakfast was included which we didn’t know so that was a nice surprise. It took a while to come out but it was excellent.

When we arrived we went to “reception” and said we had a reservation (we had luggage with us). This caused a lot of confusion as they couldn’t find us on the system as they thought we meant for food. I guess it was due to the time of day (6pm) The pillows provided were really hard which might be okay for some people but it would have been nice to have perhaps some hard and some soft.

Apologies we cannot remember this ladies name but the lady with the blonde hair, must of been the manager was amazing. Taken all of our orders and requests and delivered, everything we asked for she didn’t even write down we just told her she remembered and delivered. The quality of service and food was perfect, you will not find food like this anywhere else in St Helens.

This is such an amazing place to stay, staff were brilliant,they couldn't do enough for you..Room perfect had windows that open,also bathroom had a window that opened!!! Which is so unusual in hotels today..Shower huge..towels changed every day!..Cleanliness first class..I will definitely be staying there again.. Everything was just perfect.. Highly recommend this Beautiful Hotel ...5*.....
