The staff were incredibly friendly, efficient and fun. The only glitch for me was that the 7 o'clock breakfast became a 7.15 breakfast. As I had a 7.30 pick up to get to the property I was working at, I was reduced to a coffee and bacon sandwich, rather than the 'Kirky' breakfast I was looking forward to. The manager, female and I omitted to get her name, researched a number of requests I put to her, providing a clear answer. She runs a great team...Well Done Kirkfield Team

The slight delay in getting breakfast service going. I was on a tight time schedule and arrived just before 7 but couldn't get my order in till around 7.15. Maybe I'm just being picky?

A very big and comfortable room. Bed was very comfy and the bathroom adequate. Breakfast offering was great and the staff all friendly and super helpful. You can make yourself a cup of tea in the room. This was our second stay.

The church bells, the church is located across the road, along with truck noise meant sleep was disrupted. Overnight parking costs in church grounds or park on the street. There is no hotel parking available. There is no lift up to the accommodation. As is usual in most places in England during winter the heating in the general spaces is always turned on 'high' and can easily become uncomfortable. Bathroom is starting to look a little tired.

Lovely old hotel with very upmarket modern feel. Everything was spotless and cosy. Bed was v comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, as was breakfast, and staff were all lovely and v professional. Garden area to the back of the restaurant was really nicely done too.

Small things but Ladies toilets on ground floor need the lock to show when engaged as people keep trying the doors so the locks are getting damaged. Also need hooks on the doors to hang handbag or coat up off the toilet floor. More importantly , the small step down into the restaurant area near the ladies toilets needs to be highlighted yellow- my elderly mother in law has poor eyesight and almost fell - I don’t have poor eyesight but still stumbled down it!!

Great Hotel with very friendly staff who could not be more helpful. Parking is located opposite in a Church Car Park that is just £6.00 for a 24 hour period. On arrival was pleased to see that the bar had 5 Cask Ales and these were fresh, local and good quality. The room exceeded expectations. It was lavishly appointed, warm, comfortable and large. Hadn't intended to eat in for dinner - but the excellent, reasonably priced menu, the large comfortable and stylish dining room changed my mind. Excellent breakfast the next day finished off my trip. Will visit again later in the year to conclude my business in the area.

Nothing. It was all great.

The staff are amazing. Very polite good demeanour. Very helpful. Place has a great vibe. Very busy with live music. Building/decor is beautiful, food was delicious and really good value for the money.

We didn't have the room that we booked. The room we got was lovely though. Some dust in the shower due to extractor fan, radiators were dusty, pictures were dusty. Coffee station had previous spills on it. Only two hangers in wardrobe. At breakfast they forgot toast.

Conveniently located for me just off the M6, the rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. food choice was adequate and was well cooked. Would happily stay again

Bathroom shower is a bit tight (and that was an upgraded room) and the TV just switched itself on during the night which was a bit spooky (this also happened to another guest which we had a laugh about over breakfast regarding the friendly ghost).

This was a last minute booking for myself and my dad as the accommodation we originally booked was cancelled (not by us) Lovely hotel, beautiful room and very friendly and helpful staff.

My dad is 80 so the stairs were an issue (no lift) but as I said it was a last minute booking so we dealt with that. Food was very nice but we were disappointed that we couldn't have the 'steak night' deal that was advertised on the website as between 5 and 9pm but is in fact between 5 and 7pm...we arrived for our meal at 7.45pm so that really needs to be amended. Would stay again, in a lower floor room and would recommend.

We paid £10 each for breakfast, The Kirky, which was delicious and came with hot beverages and also included access to the various options of cereals, fruit, juices etc. The garden seating area at the rear is beautifully set out. The location was perfect - 10 min walk from the train station to the Kirkfield. We were also attending Haydock Park races, which took10 mins in a taxi and cost £10.

Maybe breakfast included in the deal but I assume that other deals do include breakfast, so not complaining really, just struggling to find something negative to say

I really like that the reception staff always show you to your room upon arrival. The rooms are always clean and cosy, the bed is very comfortable and I cant fault it both times Ive stayed. I requested a room with a bath last week and was not disappointed when I arrived to find I had been allocated a room with a bath so I could relax after a long day. Thank you

Rooms clean, comfortable bed, lots of hot water, excellent shower. Garden to the rear excellent, caught the sun, plenty of seating. Loved the sound of the church bells on a Sunday morning

Lack of parking but plenty of on street parking and use of the church car park for a small fee makes up for it, we left our car in Castle Hill for the duration, just avoid the double yellows
