Really local to Stratford town centre. lovely to have a morning swim in the pool before heading off to do some activities. we had room service dinner one night which was really nice. Bed was very comfy - although you get lost in it as it was so big! loved the new sparkling and still water taps outside the rooms for filling up water bottles - really lovely idea.

I thought it extremely cheeky to charge overnight guests £7 for parking on top of their room charge! Breakfast was very mediocre so much so we decided to skip it the second day and find somewhere in town as there are lots of amazing bakery’s and tea rooms. It just tasted a little bland and I had asked for certain things to be removed but they were still brought out with the breakfast.

Friendly helpful staff. Gorgeous grounds and location, so central too. Clean, big comfy room. Massive bed! Great pool and changing facilities.

I disagree that guests should pay for parking at hotel. It was £7 so not bank breaking, but I disagree with this at any hotel. Paying staying guests should be entitled to park during stay. That's my only grumble......and I feel the same about all hotels that charge to park.

Location was suitable for visiting the sights. The bed was very comfortable. Pleased to see two chairs in a double room. Usually one of us has to sit on the bed.

We felt that the £18 each charge for breakfast was excessive for what we would have eaten. We ate in the restaurant one night only and a 3 course meal with just coffee was £104. We didn’t feel that the bathroom in no.39 was ‘modern’ as quoted on the website. The bathroom was dated with a shower over the bath. We feel a walk-in shower is more ‘modern’ and more suitable for us in our late 70s but we’re told that all the bath/shower arrangements were the same. The grouting, the area around the bath shelf and the room window all needed some extra cleaning.

Our room was large and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and plentiful.

The towel rail in our bathroom only became hot when we ran the hot water for the shower which made the room cold at times. The radiator in our room was noisy which disturbed our sleep a little. Although very comfortable, our room was at the top of the stairs which meant we could hear some noise from downstairs (although not excessive) and from people walking past at times. We used the pool in the afternoon (Saturday), this seemed to be during family use time (we hadn't checked). There is no attendant in the pool and some children were proving a bit of a nuisance (their parents were more interested in having a conversation with each other than in being with their children).

A nice feel and a good location both easy to get to by car, and just a short walk to the central area of Stratford for the theatre. It has an okay pool and spa area too which for central Stratford hotels is rare.

Although the old areas of the building are nice, a lot of the rest have a very 1980s feel to them and not really in keeping with the facade of the building. As is common with many hotels of the era, there are no power sockets by the beds. The TV is a decent size but has no smart on demand facilities (so no access to iPlayer, Netflix etc and no way to cast from a phone).

The bed was the best bit, very big and so comfy - one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time. Great sized room. Location was 10 min walk from everything. It was mine and my partners anniversary and they added a little personalised touch for us, so thank you for that! Lovely looking hotel.

Staff on reception could of been a bit more pleasant. Two staff members talking at the same time, made it very confusing, one didn’t acknowledge me at all, just spoke to my partner. Same reception staff then didn’t explain to us very well how to get to our room, leaving us to figure it out ourselves, which actually was harder than expected as the hotel is fairly big. Cleanliness in bathroom could of been slightly better. Found a lot of the guests that were staying unpleasant. Take into account that if you’re ordering room service there is a £8 tray charge. Lastly the most annoying one, the smoke alarms went off, very loud, woke us up.

Beautiful Tudor house (the front— the modern buildings are behind). Staff, particularly restaurant staff are attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Our party had 5 children under 4 and they managed that superbly, giving us space while keeping us away from other guests.

The booking process. No response to messages from the Booking.com app. No response to email. Didn’t answer the phone ever. We went in person to make some party arrangements— a journey of 2 hours. When we arrived for our actual visit, we were told that someone else had reserved the private dining area that we had “booked”. The staff on duty resolved this quickly and creatively.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alveston Manor and liked the old traditional feel of the place. The rooms we had were basic but comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the sparkling water fountain in the hallway which was so handy to fill up water bottles. The restaurant had a good menu and the meals we had were all very nice. Breakfast was also good with plenty of options. Staff were all really pleasant and friendly and happily helped with any requests we had, particularly Ian at reception. The indoor pool was great. Location was fantastic.

Having to pay extra for parking, felt it should have been included.

The staff were lovely; very helpful and friendly in response to our starting a conversation. The pool was great. Sauna and steam rooms were good. The pool being open til 10 was good..shame not so at weekends.

The room was a little smaller than I would have expected. It was a bit of a squash around the armchair and table. If the TV was on the wall then there would be no need for the cupboard it was on. This would have made a big difference to the space in the room. The hot water was too hot to touch. The heated towel rail was not working. I asked for reception to sort it and I was just told the fuse had gone but there was no attempt to fix it.

We were given a room in the old part of the hotel and it was just lovely. Very spacious with a slightly separated dressing area and bathroom. The bathroom was a little dated, but everything worked OK and the toiletries were very nice. It was also nice to have bathrobes supplied, but they were too small for my partner to wear! The old part of the hotel housed the bar and restaurant and both were clean and comfortable. We had a full English breakfast which was good enough. Also had evening meal there as torrential rain caused some local flooding. Very good. Spa amenities were what you would expect and good value. The pool is a good size, but there's very few beds on which to relax between swims. All the staff were welcoming and professional. Being close to the town centre there were lots of choices of places to eat or just have a drink. The theatre was 'dark' at the time of our visit, but hotel close enough to make it easy for people to get there.

Not sure why alternatives to a full English breakfast carrried such a high supplement as the breakfast was already quite expensive. Bit disappointed that staying guests had too pay for parking, but given the hotel's proximity to the town centre, can understand why.
