Beautiful property. Room and spa facilities excellent along with a delicious breakfast

On arrival the receptionist was very inhospitable - rude and unpleasant which was very disappointing. On asking a second time for room directions (in a hotel we didn’t know) she was very, very abrupt.

The hotel is beautiful in the Tudor style with the original beams inside and the dark oak wood on staircases. Lovely. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable . We booked for a breakfast which was very nice. The location was walking distance to the town, less than 5 minutes walk to the shops and market and only a stones throw to the river which has a beautiful park along side.

Just a warning reference the car park.. I had a parking ticket fine even though I paid the hotel, this spoiled my trip! (Although this was an error in the system)

Really local to Stratford town centre. lovely to have a morning swim in the pool before heading off to do some activities. we had room service dinner one night which was really nice. Bed was very comfy - although you get lost in it as it was so big! loved the new sparkling and still water taps outside the rooms for filling up water bottles - really lovely idea.

I thought it extremely cheeky to charge overnight guests £7 for parking on top of their room charge! Breakfast was very mediocre so much so we decided to skip it the second day and find somewhere in town as there are lots of amazing bakery’s and tea rooms. It just tasted a little bland and I had asked for certain things to be removed but they were still brought out with the breakfast.

Our room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel itself was lovely, although in a few areas the decor seemed a little tired. Pool and gym facilities were great and the leisure staff were fantastic. The location is absolutely perfect for a short stroll into Stratford upon Avon itself.

The showers in the ladies at the pool could have been better, as seemed quite old and tired. Also, the prices for breakfast really did seem extortionate - particularly if you wanted particular items not on the standard menu. As such, we just took a short walk into town for a cheaper option instead. It is also worth noting you do have to pay extra for parking, although for the location you would probably have to pay more to park in town.

We loved the water provided outside the rooms. This was a real bonus. The pool and spa was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful Comfy beds and fresh rooms (just bathroom a bit damp smell) The restaurant food was good.

One thing we really didn't like was the airfreshener in the reception and in some other areas. It was very strong and smelled very chemically making some of us feel sick. Also the smell in the restaurant at dinner time was fishy and then airfreshener came and was very off putting when about to eat. Natural organic smells like cedar or anything would be a much better welcome and compliment the atmosphere in the hotel. A traditional natural smell to reflect the decor would create a nice ambiance rather than the smell whcih was very jarring.

The location to town was good

Check in could have been better. Was advised to fill my registration of my car out on a form. Did this when I went to check out today and ask to pay for parking I was advised that I hadn’t entered my registration on the iPad. Was never asked to do so and there fore expect a fine through the post which I was advised I would have to pay and claim back from the hotel 🤦🏼‍♀️. Will see how easy this will be. We stayed in room 112 which is next to the boiler room I think as it kept firing up throughout the night, so if you are a lite sleeper I would avoid this room. Breakfast was nice but some hot toast would have been nice both mornings it was cold. We had waiter service on the first day and buffet the second day which was much better as you can put as much or as little as you like.

Friendly helpful staff. Gorgeous grounds and location, so central too. Clean, big comfy room. Massive bed! Great pool and changing facilities.

I disagree that guests should pay for parking at hotel. It was £7 so not bank breaking, but I disagree with this at any hotel. Paying staying guests should be entitled to park during stay. That's my only grumble......and I feel the same about all hotels that charge to park.

The location of the hotel was excellent, walking distance for all the sights and nice not to drive and have to find a car park. The breakfast was fabulous. The cooked breakfast kept us going all day, they were delicious and you could help yourself to anything else that was available. Usually finish off with another cup of tea and croissant. The hotel staff were amazing from reception, bar (Oscar) helping us with a walking route and in the restaurant. All very polite and friendly. The restaurant staff being extremely busy, kept their cool and smiled all the time.

I would have like a socket near the dressing table, we couldn’t find one if there was one there. This would have been easier when doing my hair. I don’t think the hairdryers in the room are manly enough. Mine overheated twice whilst using it, so had to wait for it to cool down. It would have been nice if all rooms had a bottle of water. Our supply was for a water tap down the corridor, still or sparkling which was nice. Just a pain getting to it after you’re settled.

The Hotel is beautiful and our room was lovely. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was also really nice with continental and hot breakfast available. It was also good that even though we had checked out we were still able to go in to have a drink later in the day before we left. Very happy and will definitely be booking to stay again.

Only 2 little things was that the room got very hot & we couldn't figure out the heating and I think our room was maybe above the kitchen or boilers, which came on very early and disturbed us. But this didn't ruin anything really.

Room was very comfortable, although on our first night the air-conditioning didn't work properly. On subsequent nights we turned it off. We had dinner on the first night of our stay which was excellent - good sized portions and well cooked. However, the menu appeared to be limited in choice and standard throughout our stay, and we therefore ate out on other nights. The breakfast was substantial and appetising. The location in Stratford-upon-Avon could not have been better. When we arrived to check-in, the reception wasn't staffed but a young lady who apparently works in the dining room came to assist and she was very helpful. We saw her the next morning in the breakfast room and subsequently she turned up serving in the bar - she was always cheerful and engaging with the guests. Unfortunately, I have forgotten her name but she was a credit to your hotel.

Air-conditioning, on one of the hottest nights in the UK this year, wasn't functioning - seemed to pump out warm air and the control panel did not seem to work. We heard other guests complaining about the air-conditioning, so felt it was unnecessary to report. Coaches seemed to park close to the bedrooms rather than in the car park, and as some left early in the morning interrupted our sleep.
