The Fuzzy Duck

The restaurant and pretty garden were buzzy and fun. The staff were charming. I was made to feel a funny mix of completely at home and something of a celebrity. I could get used to it. :-)

I like healthy food and particularly plenty of vegetables and there wasn’t enough of this on the menu. On the second day I spoke to the chef and then had a stunning pork tenderloin with new potatoes and asparagus. Perfectly cooked. Then for breakfast I had brown toast and a variety of fresh sliced colourful tomatoes. Delicious! The chef could add this colour to the menu!

Nothing I don’t like. This could show some big hotel chains a thing or two about quality in rooms, furnishings and politeness of staff. The whole place is so well done. Detail paid attention to everywhere. Even down to really nice toilet paper. Bed was very comfy, pillows were high quality and lovely to sleep on. Products for shower etc were high quality as were the bed throws and scatter cushions. Food was great, service was great. Breakfast was great. Had a brilliant stay

We were greeted with a warm welcome despite only having booked about an hour before arrival. Easy to find and park. The staff were consistently attentive and cheerful throughout our stay. The restaurant has a great ambience, the staff were polite, helpful and a real pleasure to chat with. The restaurant was also incredibly clean. The chefs catered for my food intolerance without any fuss and produced food that not only looked amazing but tasted delicious too. Highly recommend booking an evening meal with your stay! Breakfast selection was good, made with quality produce and cooked to perfection. Bedroom (Indian Runner) - I am fussy but have to say it was spotless! Everything looked and felt super clean and fresh - credit to the house-keeping staff! I was pleasantly surprised to see hand sanitizer so readily available around too - this shows their dedication to cleanliness. We will definitely be returning but for longer next time. Huge thanks to all the staff who have made The fuzzy Duck such a delight to stay and eat - keep up the great work!

Very well appointed rooms located in a gastro pub with excellent food. Friendly and efficient staff and a good range of beers on tap make it a pleasant place to be. There is a also free electric car charger which was an unexpected bonus.

I was travelling as a single person so was put in a room equipped with a a bunk bed. It was comfortable, but certainly not suited to somebody with a large build. The room was also small with no real storage apart from a couple of coat hangers, so two occupants would be a squeeze.

Beautiful area, lovely gardens. Young but efficient staff. (One of our group had quite a serious accident which they dealt with well. Reassuringly turns out most have training to deal with this type of situation)

Small but adequate room. In an emergency a good half an hour drive from nearest hospital and medical support.

We liked everything about our stay, from the minute we arrived the welcome & service was spot on, the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The atmosphere was great, really comfortable rooms & exceptional food. Beautiful beer garden to enjoy a pre dinner drink. It was my husbands bday and they made such a nice fuss of him. We highly recommend & hope to return again. Thank you Fuzzy Duck Team for a memorable celebration weekend with friends

Comfortable room and good provisions in bedroom/bathroom - breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and fresh produce on offer.

The bar could have stayed open a little later - we stayed for the Jubilee celebrations and the bar manager wanted to remove the TV that was screening the celebrations before the end of the performance. He didn't in the end after protest from guests but it would have been nice to continue at the bar a little later on a Saturday evening.

We liked the stylish, neutral decor and the lovely garden area. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious.

Our room fronted onto the road and so there was some traffic noise which meant a very early wake-up ‘call’. However, this would not put us off staying again.

Nice, large room, friendly atmosphere. Both the room and the bathroom were clean and spacious. The shower room was large and modern while the toiletry gifts were a nice touch. The breakfast was nicely delivered in a basket by the door.

We understand that its easier to serve continental breakfast inside the room, but it would have been nice to include something savory in it. We had sweet yogurt, fruits, pastries and jam, but nothing savory. Even a small sandwich would have been nice. The room was clean but there was hair on the cover sheets. The Bose speakers were a nice touch but unfortunately other guests decided to use them until late.

I stayed at the Fuzzy Duck to meet up with old friends and have a meal together. I had dinner and breakfast at the Fuzzy Duck. Breakfast is included in the room price. The food and service were exceptional and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
